Simply disable the text messaging app and it will no longer appear on your unlock screen. Settings, apps, all, text messaging then select disable.

Device: MTK6575 Tablet with Analog FM
OS: Android 4.0.4
Condition: USB Debugging enable
Currently my Tablet behave strangely where when I switched it ON, it did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
I did a backup user data. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
Then I try another approach. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Connect the USB cable to computer. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal with no unlock slider where it did show a USB enable menu. Press back and it did run as normal. Then I disable the "slide the unlock slider" in setting. Everything work as per normal. Try restart and no problem.
Then I restore previous user data, unfortunately I cannot disable the unlock slider. Try Connect the USB cable to computer, the slider still there.
I'm looking for a way of disabling the unlock slider via ADB command.
Another way I can think of is sideload "Screen lock suppressor" apk into system.[URL]...
Now I forget how to push the apk into system. Or, any other apk to disable the unlock slider.
How do you disable the ICS screen lock ring but leave the pin device lock on?

I know on the iphone when a message comes in the screen lights up and it shows the message... On the droid razr it only vibrates or makes a noise when on loud. The screen doesnt do anything and sometimes i forget that a mesage came in. Is there anyway to change it so the screen lights up or anything?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Motorola Droid RAZR and I am on PagePlusCellular and have been very happy up to this point. I bought the new phone after discovering that some work apps wouldn't work on my old phone because I couldn't upgrade the OS. I called PP to see if the phone was supported and I was told it wouldn't work on 4G but would if I could use 3G with it. Since I also needed a SIM card for it (another story), the local PP dealer flashed it and I have the 1X symbol displayed on screen. But I cannot send or receive picture texts-when I try I get "MMS needs to be enabled". And no 3G, just 1X. I have gone thru every setting I can find and it seems to be enabled. I went back to the dealer and was told all the settings are correct and I need to contact PP about it.
I got on live chat as I didn't want to wait on hold (and this is about the only problem I've had with PP) and was told that this phone isn't supported because it's 4G. I told them that a rep told me it was if I use 3G and I bought the phone based on their info. All they could do then is tell me to take it back to the dealer to re-flash it...
So it's been reflashed but no joy. I go to a WirelessToyz dealer who says the APN wasn't set. When I go to the settings the APN is greyed out.
I have a standard USA CDMA Razr Maxx, running GB 2.3.6. I moved to the bahamas before the ICS was available. I cancelled my Verizon service on my phone.
I tried to run the ICS update, but it failed (maybe due to my phone being rooted, or possibly because I have no carrier service).
I rooted my phone to unlock the WiFi feature back on the US, so I could use the 4G LTE superfast download speeds without having to pay for the WiFi feature from Verizon. So I've been in the root directory. I know there are tons of things you can manipulate. And I know that the ICS update unlocked the GSM radio.
My question is: Can I go into the root directory (using SQLite Editor) and unlock the GSM radio feature myself? Or do I have to update to ICS?
I'm on a Samsung G3 and just updated to 4.3. Enjoying it for the most part but the new lock screen is giving me some trouble. I preferred the one from 4.1 but I'm trying to adapt. Downloaded DashClock and added weather, email, and SMS extensions but I keep getting the stock Messaging widget popping up when I get a message (see image). I do want my phone to vibrate and the screen to turn on when I get a message, I just don't want to deal with the extra widgets.
DashClock is my default widget (got rid of the standard one and dragged DashClock to the right). Is there a way to disable all these extra widgets?
By the way, I did try disabling multiple widgets in the settings after setting DashClock to be my default and it kicked DashClock out and reverted back to the stock lock screen.
Because I have set an unlock pattern I no Longer need the stock unlock screen. How do I disable it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed that my Sprint HTC Hero (Stock and unrooted) has been receiving texts in a weird way. I doesnt notify me when the screen is off. If I turn on the screen I will receive notification as soon as I turn the screen on, but when I look at the time stamp it is usually old. Like 5 minutes or so. It doesnt do this all the time, just today I left my phone in my car (so I could charge it) while I was at work when I went out to my car the light was blinking and when i turned on the screen it said I had 2 texts, however, just as I get off work I responed back to my friends and when I got home when I looked at the phone nothing was going on. I turn the screen on and then my phone vibrates and notifies me but the time stamp on the text is 10 minutes old.

When I touch "download" it appears that the attachment is downloading, but then I get the cursed red X! I have contacted Motorola tech support. Now, I think I used ALL utilities there are to keep that damn unlock slide from appearing every time I turn my phone on. "No lock", and all that stuff, a lot. But all of those apps fail from time to time which makes me mad. Why the unlock exists at all?! A stupid invention of apple. WM didn't have it and was just fine.
Anyway. Is there a way to kill that unlock once and forever?! I guess editing some file with Root Explorer might work (did so already to prevent my Arc from waking up by "home" button - just edited some "keyboard.txt" file in text editor). Something like that, a real hack, not an app again, I guess those apps get kiled sometimes by system, no matter what... so they fail accidentally.
I had been hearing that it may have been because of Handcent SMS but I removed it and it still moves slow. Text messaging, moving to home screen, etc. Things just move very slow. How can I fix this?

It really gives a nice sense the "back and forth" of real life conversation...and to also help distinguish one's own comments from those of the person one is conversing with...particularly if there's no actual photo in the phone book to show the person (you can still see the back and forth pattern Seems like such a great idea and so simple to implement! Why the heck can't they do that on our Android phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to recover text messages from a factory defective Droid Razr. I need to send the phone back on a warranty return, but I'm hoping to pull all my text messages before I send it.
Here is the problem...my phone will only stay on for like 2 minutes max at a time before it power cycles. I have SMS Backup+ installed, but I can only recover like 5-10 messages per power cycle (its takes a few seconds to startup the wifi, app, and login).
Is there anyway I can use a USB cable to transfer the texts to my new phone? Or can I use the "My Files" utility to transfer them directly to the SD card? Or any app that will transfer the texts to the SD card (instead of backing them up online)?
(Additional info: I am running the standard, non rooted ICS)

One of them was Voice Search (and also voice commands, if that matters). Now, my speech or voice to text in my text messaging program is not working. Whenever I press the mic icon, nothing happens. Through searching I think I've determined it's because I deleted the voice search apk?
Whenever I go to the Market to download Google Voice Search, the Market says its already "installed"...but obviously its not?! I've tried downloading the file from other places but when I try to install it says "There is a problem parsing the package."
Bottom line, how do I get my speech to text back?
