There are several contacts that do not appear when I try and send them a text I have to go to contacts and do it that way, but that won't work when I want to send to multiple people.

Just bought the droid and I cant text certain individuals they never receive my text I can get texts from them but they don't receive mine but its only certain people thanks in advance for your feedback.

When creating shortcuts to call or message someone is there a way to get rid of the M (H, W, etc) that is put in the upper left corner of the icon on my screen? I don't mind the little phone or convo. icons in the right corner but the M is just too big and covers up a good bit of the icon

View 11 Replies View RelatedSeems that when I create a new text message and try to start typing a contact name, not all of my contacts appear. It seems random. I have tried restarting but say I have a Peter and Paul in my phone, if I type a P it might only show me Paul and not peter. Usually, is the same names that never show up they never appear or disappear. I'm not rooted and I have done nothing nefarious with my phone that may cause this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis forum has saved me from going insane many times now.. but I have searched for an answer to this question but cannot find anything. I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

I do apologize if I missed it somewhere so if its out there please feel to direct me there.Picked up the HTC Eris about 2 weeks ago. I've started noticing a very strange issue as of last week. Using the stock messaging app I keep all my text strings with my various contacts. So let's say I have 7 different text strings in there now all from 7 different people. Now, for whatever reason, If I receive a new text message from a new person it will throw that new person's text into an existing text string of one of the other contacts rather than creating its own separate text string. Make sense? Just mixes it in there. So for instance, If I have a previous string from me to my wife it will throw a new text from my mom into my wife's existing text string. If I attempt to reply to that text sent from my mom that went into my wife's text string then my wife will receive the message. And its totally random. I've noticed this with 3 different contacts. So its just not one specific contact. And its literally like 6 or 7 people. Its not like I have a huge backup of text messages.
Now as I've mentioned its only about 2.5 weeks old. I don't throw alot of apps on there (I think I have 6) and I've rebooted this thing twice. I've taken it to Verizon and the guy there didn't know what to make of it. Said I might have a defective phone or possibly try a factory reset. He also mentioned waiting for the update and if its not corrected by then I can get an Eris replacement. Anyway, I wasn't ready to switch it out yet cause I love this phone and am hoping someone out there has maybe seen this issue and maybe can tell me what the heck is going on. Thanks in reading this and I look forward to any possible suggestions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI sold my htc Imago with the expectation that the guy I was buying a Droid X from would not super flake on me. Say Craig list! Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently been having issues with text messaging. About half of the texts that I try to send end up in a "pending" state. If you go to the factory messaging, and long press on a message, there is an option to "View Report" and that is where it has the pending status. I can't seem to figure out a rhyme or reason to this, but they don't actually get sent to the people I'm trying to send them to. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been fine with the stock messaging program, but would Handcent fix this? I'm up for trying anything at this point, as long as I can text and be sure the people are going to get them. BTW I was hoping the 2.0.1 update would fix this, but I force loaded the update and it's still doing it.

I want to back up my contacts and my text messages and be able to restore them.Some of my contacts are associated to phone instead of Gmail. I am using google voice to get visual voice mail, however it is using up my limited text messages.Is there a way I can avoid the visual voice mail from going to text and access them directly through my gmail?.As well as, my voice to text on google voice is usually unreadable is this normal?.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted 2.2 DX, and on 2.1 when I got a new text it would jump to the top of the list with a blue dot next to it. Now ever since I upgraded to 2.2 I still get the blue dot next to my unread text messages but it doesn't jump to the top of the list. I don't know if that is just how froyo works now or if it's an issue just on my phone.

I don't know what the problem is, but for some reason I've been getting like 5-10 duplicates of text messages from some people. It's usually different people at different times and it's on various carriers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI gave my wife my D2, did a factory reset on it beforehand. She's been playing on it now for almost a week with no problem until today..
It started off with her gallery, when you try to go into the gallery it will kick you right back out into the launcher. I can use astro to get to her pics but any pics she takes now won't work. So then she went into her messaging app, all it does is cycle, it won't load up any messages at all.. I really don't know what's wrong with it, trying to avoid a factory reset if I can, but I will if it's my only option.

The only program I can see that could be causing it is SMS Pop Up, but I don't know if that is a culprit or has been known to do that. My girlfriend who was sitting next to me started getting text messages. She received about 13 instantly from me that she previously received from me.Can anyone decipher this dilemma?
