I am new to the Android and have a question, how I can remove/wipe my personal data( contacts, mail account, pictures etc) from the phone.My phone is running Android 2.2 if I do the factory rest will that remove the Android 2.2 also with my data.What's about the unlock status? It will go to locked setting again after hard reset.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Desire with Android 2.1. I sync it with exchange, but it tells me I have to have a "phone unlock code" to sync with exchange. This more or less ruins the phone for me, as I have to type a password EVERY single time the screen locks (or go to standby). Only way I can see around it is forwarding all my exchange mail + syncing all my exchange contacts and my exchange calendar with g-mail, but that is a rather poor solution I think : I have g-mail sync running as well, and that does not require me to have a "unlock password" Does anyone know a way to get around this annoying "you must have an unlock code to sync with exchange" issue?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI have just swapped from an iPhone 3G to the Desire and am getting stuck whilst familiarising myself with the phone (and making it similar to my iPhone). I have put an unlock password on the phone but it is a pain as it requires alpha and numeric so I want to go back to using the visual password. Problem is I cannot find how to get the phone to swap back to using a visual p/w. Anyone able to help Whilst here is there an app out there to wake up the phone when you press any key and/or have the iPhone keypad pop up to unblock the phone? Other than that it is an impressive bit of kit and better than the iPhone in many ways but flawed in some basic areas such as the pathetic speaker. It nearly went back when I first heard it and seems a surprising oversight given it is obviously aimed at the social end of the market.

Its an HTC Magic and syncs to my google calendar. I've reset my messenger password so im guessing altho they get into my ebuddy app automatically, the messenger password on the phone will be out of sync and wrong? I've chosen "log out of everywhere" from Windows Live. I've rest my Evernote password. I dont have any apps that can help me find phone or send an erase message to the phone.
So all thats left I guess is my Google calendar. I suppose its not a train smash having my Calendar data on the phone, but I'd like to erase it. If I go to Google Calendar and delete all the appointments will that delete the appointments if my lost phone syncs, and i think ive set it to sync every time the calendar app is run? Also, with contacts, i seem to remember those not syncing very often, only when i went into settings and contacts on the htc, so im not sure of how to get rid of all the contacts on my phone even if I delete them all from my Google Account.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would have thought that a firmware update via Kies would preserve user data, contacts, apps I paid for from the market, phone settings etc. But after going from I9000DXJF4 to I9000DXJG4 using that appalling excuse for software (Kies) I have a completely empty device with just stock standard apps. No warnings to click through about wiping data, no strange error messages on the device. Is this normal? If so I might as well put my SIM card back in my iPhone until there is a consensus build of Froyo out for the Galaxy S as re-downloading and resyncing everything each time.

The Keyboard I use is Samsung keyboard.I went to Samsung Keyboard Setting > Predictive Text > Personalized Data is check on. I can not find any clue how to export this data to a text file or database file so i can browse / edit it or transfer it to another device.
This is probably a stupid question but is there an issue with unlocking a Desire HD from Vodafone UK? I was looking for code websites and one for instance said they couldn't supply codes for Desire HDs and Desire Zs etc...

- Is that "unlock bootloader" mean "root" ?
- Is that this method will erase all the data in my phone ?
I'm thinking of debranding my Orange-locked Desrie using Unrevoked3 as it's supposed to be a doddle. I've downloaded the programmer, but before I attach my phone ot my computer and press go, I have four questions:
1. Do I need to unlock my phone first?
2. Do I need a goldcard?
3. Does Unprovoked provide a ROM or do I have to install that myself separately?
4. What does this actually do? Root? Debrand? What?
Before 2.2 update I could unlock the phone using the menu button but this option seem to have disappeared since the update on tmobile anyone found out if you can still do this.

My phone is locked after entering the unlock pattern incorrect too many times.It asks me for gmail username/password but this doesnt work, have tried dozens of combinations etc.The only option I think at this stage is to root the phone, but my Bootloader is .92.Can I root the phone using this?It's an unbranded Desire, running Froyo official HTC update.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIts been a while since i am doing development on android sdk , one of the astonishing i come across that there is np support in the API to remove any notification in the status bar , i am working on an application which looks for every SMS coming and on some specific sms deletes them from the inbox till now its working fine , but the notification bar still showing that u got a new message despite the fact that u have deleted it form sms database , coils somebody suggest some solution how i can accomplish this.

Ive recently bought a HTC Desire on orange contract and the phone appears to be debranded and unlocked. There is no evidence of orange applications in the menu and my other vodafone sim works with it too! Is there anyway to work out whether this has the generic HTC unbranded rom or not? And does that mean i will get the Froyo update when HTC release it?

I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Ideally, it would also be nice to be able to rearrange the icons, or make them larger if desired..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Lenovo a60 phone. It has dual SIM support. However i rarely keep the second SIM card activated which results in a no-signal icon beside the 1st SIM signal icon. Anyway i can remove the NO SIGNAL icon ONLY? I still want the signal strength of the second SIM to appear when SIM 2 is activated but i don't want the icon when SIM 2 is deactivated.
I believe it lies somewhere in the SystemUI.apk since that's how i removed the Vibration Indicator icon.
