Basically it is deleting my oldest text from the particular person when I receive a new text from said person. Seems 10 texts is the threshold.I didn't make any changes and this started occurring.

Had my desire for about 4 months now, tres happy with it, one of the first apps i downloaded to use instead of the stock was Handcent for SMS.Today I take it out to send a text and the conversation screen is blank!Can't find texts anywhere - including if I go into the traditional 'messaging'.And then to top it off, I send a text to my sister and it goes to my wife!? Despite the conversation window showing the correct name and profile photo.Anyone else had any issues with Handcent? Reading other posts, I now know that its also a battery drainer, so I'll be uninstalling it, but I'd like me messages back first!
View 4 Replies View RelatedMost of the people I keep in touch with live hours away, and while phone calls definitely have their place most of the time I just like the convenience of texting.The problem is that Android phones seem to have a difficult time deleting more than a couple hundred or so texts at a time.I experienced this with my Hero actually ended up getting rid of it after a few months because each time I tried to delete more than 100 texts or so it would freeze, reboot, and then RESEND random old texts to people.A dozen at a time.People were starting to think I was losing my mind, and I ended up getting rid of the phone.(sort of a funny problem now that I look back on it)At least the Evo hasn't sent random texts to people yet.It just throws a temper tantrum and completely refuses to delete large threads.

View 3 Replies View RelatedCurrently I have over 2700 texts in one thread and as a result the messages app is seriously slow. But when I try to delete them the messages app crashes/freezes and even after killing the task it does not sort itself so I am forced to reboot.How the hell do I delete these!? Is there another way or do I need to wait for the next software update that I care about? The lag is the least of the issues, I believe this is also causing SMS Popup to crash (now uninstalled) but I really love this app.

I have tried to delete the threads in handcent, force delete in handcent, and delete in the stock messages app.. and every single time the phone winds up hanging and eventually the program will FC.
I would like texts sent to ny Google voice number to be received in handcent...is this possible?

If I kill Handcent with task killer and put my phone in sleep mode with a single press of the power key I will not get any texts until I wake my phone up and then they all roll in. If I don't kill the task I seem to get texts while the phone is idle and asleep. Also I set the default text app the hancent now when ever I send a text it only opens handcent which is good, but if I receive a text it opens handcent the default app and google voice.
Any ideas on how to sort this out ? I did a forum search but did not find any thing that solved my issues.
If I want to send a text to a group, will handcent recognize a group I created in the phone listing? Try to figure this out for my son's baseball coach.

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded Handcent and the settings that I want on it are not saving. For example I want vibrate only when phone is in vibrate mode. That is not working at all. I also disabled notifications in the notification bar and I'm still getting them. Don't know if being on a custom rom (omj) would affect any of this. Pretty annoying though and was wanting to know if anyone else is having this sort of problem. I also rebooted the phone and no dice still.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter the OTA I have discovered (to my frustration) that the email I have been deleting from my Eris is being permanently deleted from my Yahoo Plus account. I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.
With my other yahoo accounts (free) I didn't have the option to keep them on the server and accepted that as it was a struggle to get the free accounts up early on.

The problem that happens is tuat google thinks I am Spanish and therefor makes google.com display in Spanish. I tried changing and deleting the cache in the browser, tried changing the local settings, nothing wants to work? Right now I have set my homepage to the English version using the url codes, but that is only a temp fix.

I have the Google Sync selected within the Data Synchornisation settings but I have auto synchronisation turned off.
Do I need to change my sync settings or is there a problem?

I just recently downloaded the handcent SMS and when I go into settings then custom style it will stay in it for a few seconds then I get a black screen and then it goes back to settings. I can't customize anything, and it does the same when i'm reading my messagse.

1) Is it advised to work with CheckedTextView as the ListView items, or a combination of CheckBox and TextView?
2) If using CheckedTextView, the text comes first and the checkbox appears on right edge. Is it possible to make the checkbox come on the left of the TextView?
3) How can I make one of the items as checked in onCreate()?

I have list of checkboxes in list binded by Custom simpleCurserAdapter. in my Custom simpleCurserAdapter ive override the newview and binview with my modifications. ive managed somehow to do multichoice.. wierd thing after i delete any item from my list , the first item's checkbox is being checked all of a sudden.. how does that happen? how can i solve it?
