The problem that happens is tuat google thinks I am Spanish and therefor makes google.com display in Spanish. I tried changing and deleting the cache in the browser, tried changing the local settings, nothing wants to work? Right now I have set my homepage to the English version using the url codes, but that is only a temp fix.

Changing ur mobile network settings to sprint only not automatic is suppose to help with battery life also anyone noticed this.

Now I have to publish an update to this application to fix some little bugs, but I am afraid that downloading and installing the update will delate the local database associated with the previous version.
I would like to know how the update system works. Will installing an update completely delete all the apk, files, databases associeted with the previous version?
If so, how can I avoid this in my code?
I've been trying the Opera Mini 5 beta, and I'm loving it so far. Particularly the fact that it's so much faster than the standard browser.So, my question is... Is it possible to change the "default" browser?That is, in some apps I have the option of "viewing in browser", but these always take me to a page using the default browser. One such example is "NewsRob" with its "Browser" menu option when viewing an article.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I changed my DPI setting to 150 since in launcher pro I use 5 rows instead of 4 so it doesn't overlap etc. And wanted to ask if changing the DPI setting may affect the battery usage (recalculating screen) or CPU (making it slower) or the games will lag? etc.
Changed it back, I think was lagging and the text boxes were smaller not on the whole page. And the confirmations had green lines in the middle.
How I did it:
1. Root Explorer , mount R/W in system
2. Open in text editor.
3. Edit the build.prop line with ro.sf.lcd_density=150 and save the file
4. mount R/O and reboot
Still if someone knows something about the battery usage and cpu etc. So I know in future if I should play around with this one.
I Just installed the Dolphin browser instead of Steel as I was using before. So uninstalled Steel, but have a little problem now. When I press the search button on my home screen and search for anything, it opens the default browser and searches, and not Dolphin. How do I change this? Thought it would ask for which app it needed to execute the order with, as it did at other places it would go online, but not here. Has been in the manage applications and delete the default browser to be default, and inside settings in the dolphin browser and the check it to be default, but it does not work.

I left the outlook contacts on the phone (just in case), but switched the View item in people to only show the gmail contacts. Whenever I make or receive a call now, the caller ID lookup always tells me I'm calling or receiving a call from one particular user, who is not the caller/callee. View 3 Replies View RelatedI was going through my Uninstaller App today to see what apps I really haven't been using much lately, because even though I have apps2sd, my internal memory is down to 23mb. Despite clearing the cache with cachmate. I have a bunch of apps, and know that they are all taking up cache, but daaaaamn, they take up a lot, lol. I have a 16gb, i think "kingston" sd card, and doubt it's a class 6 (because my wife got it at the sprint store), so I'm not comfortable moving all my dalvik cache onto it in case it screws something up, or makes it super slow. Sorry, got a little off topic. So I came across "com.htc 2.1-update1 10998kb", and wasn't sure if I would brick my phone by deleting it. It's obviously taking up some of my internal memory, and I'd like to have that room back lol. Does anyone know if I'll brick my phone if I delete it, or if it will be just fine if I delete it? I'm running 1.5, with Aloysius 2.1 LWP w/ OC. I refuse to upgrade to 2.1 and lose root. Unless someone has finally found a way to get root again after updating to 2.1?

If that didn't make sense, basically when I go to shoot an email on my hero, as I'm typing who I'm sending it to, it shows a list of everyone that I've emailed starting with whatever letter I'm pressing, normally and most of the time that's awesome, but sometimes, like the situation I stated above it's a big pain in the arse.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I receive an email, I delete it. When I delete one email. It'll show the inbox with the number ZERO in between parenthesis. Then 1 more email comes in. The parenthesis number is 2. Delete the email that is actually new, and the new parenthesis is 1. Receive one more email. It'll show up as 3. Basically, the ones I deleted aren't deleted on google's server, but they won't show up again in my phone inbox - only in the "unread" counter. And no, it doesn't go away after a few minutes when gmail syncs. Do I really have to get onto a computer to clear the "unread" count? I am running fresh .7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am sick and tired of deleting duplicate entries in contacts and calendar. There is no rhyme or reason. I get some contacts duplicated numerous times. I get duplicate appointments and my new ones refuse to link to the PC. I have tried everthing that two weeks of constant googling can come up with. I am sooooooo GD sorry that I purchased this POS phone and from my point of view the Android system is also a POS.
Next time I am going to finally bite the bullet and get an iPhone.
If anyone has something new please let me know what to do. I have deleted ALL contacts in Google. I have deleted ALL duplicate contacts at least a dozen times. The stupid system still adds, at random, duplicate contacts and tasks. The stupid phone has even linked contacts with no reason or input from me. The calendar has put holidays in numerous dates. Columbus day was in the calendar seven times when I did the last cleanup (I have done 3 seperate cleanups today alone). Independence day was put on both July 4th and 5th. When I deleted it from the 5th it disappeared altogether. I thought my old Palm Treo was bad.
I think my evo is starting to lose itself. It's been doing some weird stuff lately. Not showing icons/images on website unless I deleted the cache/history/restart the phone. I also lost pinch to zoom until I restarted the phone. It has done the icon thing twice. A couple of minutes ago, it restarted itself. I'm concerned but so far it's not enough to justify a trip to the store. I would return it and get another one but the store would charge me $35.

NOTE- I already tried ~Settings>Applications>Browser and then click the button Clear Cache and Clear Data then reboot your phone.~
