Got my X10 this morning and I can't for the life of me find out how to delete individual texts instead of the whole thread. How can I save the important ones whilst clearing out the dead wood? I've been trawling through here all day so.

How to delete an individual call or text message on my new Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini (which I love by the way)? Would really appreciate help in finding some sort of Call Log which I can edit.

On the X10, is it possible to organize text messages so that they appear in an in box and sent items etc? Mine are showing up by each contact, which is good in a way, but I can't find a way to delete individual messages. It seems that all messages from a contact all form part of one long thread, even if I start a new message to a contact. That means that when I went to delete a message from a contact, the phone deleted all the messages from her. There wasn't anythign of special importance in them, but I'd like to be able to delete single messages.
Newbie here - just found this forum, and have a million and one questions about my Xperia X10 that I am getting increasingly frustrated with. Hope you can help.
1st off - And I apologise if this is answered properly elsewhere, but I can't find a satisfactory answer! How the hell can I choose what SMS tone is used for each individual contact; and how can I set it to silent for some contacts?? Please - is there a definitive guide anywhere??
One would expect to go into Phonebook, select the contact, press Edit, and have an option for SMS tone - but no!!
Ideally, I would like to set the SMS tone to silent for most contacts - so I got "Tone Picker". But even using Tone Picker, Set Notifications, Complete action using Tone picker, select Silent - DOES NOT WORK!!! I still get the notification tone on all texts! And Tone picker doesn't allow me to set the SMS tone per contact.
Does anyone know if it is possible to set default numbers in my phone for text messages and phone calls for individual contacts, please? I would like to set up the phone so it defaults to mobile phone numbers for text messages, so I don't accidentally try to send a text message to a landline.I have fiddled weith the phone for ages, but haven't yet found the option to do this.

Phone security - I've just moved from my Sony Ericsson C510 and have had other SE phones over the last 4 or 5 years and all have had the option to have a SIM lock and a phone lock, so basically you enter two pins at startup. I have managed to set the SIM lock on my X10 so it asks for a code at each startup, but the only other options I see for a lock are the pattern drawing thing, which admittedly I haven't attempted to set up yet. Is there anything where I can enter a code-based phone lock like on my old C510?
2. I have managed to transfer all of my contacts from my C510 using the send-all option over bluetooth, but is there anything I can do to transfer all of my texts to the X10?
3. Wallpaper. On all of my previous SE phones, it has always given me the option to use either a standard picture size or a maximised size for my phone wallpapers. On the X10 it forces me to crop my picture to a size which is not ideal! (e.g - if i wanted a pic of someone as my wallpaper, it would probably just cover their eyes!) To make this worse, once the selection is selected, the wallpaper is horribly zoomed and blocky. Surely I am doing something wrong and this can be resolved??
4. Where is the file system? Unlike my previous phones there is no file manager.
5. Is it possible to switch apps when they are running? If I am running an App, Opera for example, and I press the back/home buttons, the only way I can get back to opera is to goto the main menu and click on it. Surely it should be running in the tray at the top (like ebuddy does when I run that, even after I've pressed back/home
I have an unlocked Rogers X10a that I use on At&t. Ive been told by a few people that when i send out texts they receive blank ones.But on my side it shows them.Has anyone else had this problem? Any way to fix it?

At present to delete these pictures I have to go through each picture individually. How can I delete the entire contents of each folder? I do not seem to have a tag feature where I can tag all of the photogrpahs that I want to delete in one go. Any ideas?

Can I delete some calls without erasing all of them?
If it's not possible with the phone itself, Is there another way to do it? Maybe dowloading an app from the Android Market?
When my phone's been switched off and I turn it on again, I get texts but the time always shows as when I receive them, not when they were sent. As I have 2 simcards (I'm abroad), I need to know what time the texts actually come through, not when I get them when I switch my phone on. This happened with my old phone but not my new xperia.

I spell my name wrong, so want to remove that email account and register a new one, but i can't find anywhere where i can delete it, it just keeps coming up to put my email in. It was working fine yesterday, but then out of nowhere it stopped working, I've been asking friends from different carriers, emails, etc to send me TXTs and MMS but I still can't receive them, I contacted my Network and they did OTA update, I even did it manually deleting the APN searching for the network etc. but same issue, I can send txts/mms but I can NOT receive them. any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a gmail account when I got this phone purely because it asked me to (usually I use hotmail), then started a new job, where my boss said she uses gmail to communicate. Everytime I checked my gmail on the phone it woudn't tell me MY email address, (because, I shoulda known it) but I couldn't remember what it was, so I made a new gmail account, and started using it at work. I didn't want to have two accounts so when I found out what the original account was (in the phone). I went online on my computer and deleted the account, intending to replace it with the newer one. However since deleting the old email account, I can no longer update any apps, or buy any new apps. It continously asks for the old gmail's password, but won't accept it when I've entered it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy week old phone seems to randomly select contacts and deletes them from my phone. I have to then log onto the website and go into the synchronisation page and rummage around in the contacts trash to restore them and then re-sync..
I have the Google Sync selected within the Data Synchornisation settings but I have auto synchronisation turned off.
Do I need to change my sync settings or is there a problem?
