I am sick of dealing with only 3 panels on my DROID! I have searched around the internet and have found no results. I was told to use a home screen replacement, which I tried, and that did not work. Does anyone know of a simple app that has JUST the functionality to add more home screen panels to stock Android (2.0), and if not is there a developer out there that could make this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm making a drawing app. In the centre of the screen, I want the app to contain the user's drawing. At the top of the screen I want buttons for different drawing tools. When a drawing tool is selected, I want buttons specific to that tool to appear at the bottom of the app (e.g. the brush tool might show a "increase brush size" button at the bottom of the screen), replacing what buttons might be there from before. What's a good way to do this?
At the moment, I'm using a relative layout for the whole GUI, then adding a separate linear layout for each tool panel at the bottom of the screen (i.e. the panels overlap when shown together). When a tool button is clicked, I hide all the settings panels except for the one related to the selected tool. This seems a bit messy but I'm not sure how else to do it. It would be nice if I could do it in a way that keeps the code modular for each tool.
Id charge my 6 month old moto droid overnight, it would say 100% on the battery and in 3 mins it would be at 20%, the past few times ive restarted it it would go back to 100% but it wont anymore so verizon is sending me a refurb one, id like to know if there are any fixes to my problem, and also how to basically take an "image" of my home screen to transfer to my refurb droid, so i don't have to make folders and re create widgets again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell we've pretty much all heard by now that 2.1 will not be including any more than 3 Home screens. I was REALLY hoping for 5, as 3 is not enough and I'd like more room to play with Widgets. Even with folders and some snazzy organizing it's still not great.
What's the status on Home Screen Replacement Apps? All I know about it Home++ but last I read it was pretty buggy and Force Closed quite a bit. I'm not looking for anything crazy I really just simply want more than 3 screens, 5-7 ideally...are there any apps out there that handle just this?
I know we're getting 5 homescreens in 2.1. still no idea when we'll get that update! last I heard Motorola was in their final testing phase and at that Nexus One conference the head of Moto said the same.. within a few days it should have been ported. Har har we all knew that wasn't happening that quick. I've got my 3 homescreens maxed, and I really would like to use a homescreen app to have more. I don't want to sacrifice stability and I don't need crazy features, I'm simply looking to just go up to 5-7 screens so I can test some larger widgets out in the meantime. I'm not rooted and I don't really want to either. What's best? Home++?

Now on the new phone when I try to change my homescreen wallpaper, it always wants to zoom in on the image. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it will let me use the full width, but not the full length while looking at the phone with the buttons on the bottom. So I have an image that is 320x480, and it wants to crop it down to 200x200 for example. It zooms in and makes it a square, instead of a rectangle like the screen is. I just want the wallpaper to be what it looks like when the image first opens from the photo album app. But as soon as I try to make it a wallpaper it wants to zoom in and make the photo look dumb.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've done the searching and nothing has solved my problem and the last time this was brought as far as I can tell was back in December. My issue is that there is no consistent time when this happens. Sometimes it happens as I unlock the homescreen, as I'm exiting out of an application, as I rotate the screen, and even as I'm shifting between home screens. It also happens randomly based off of my last reset. Since it started (about a month ago) it has happened as long as 3 days after my last reset and sometimes as soon as 20 minutes after. I've tried installing the Home++ application but that did not solve the problem either. Does anyone know of a setting or way to bring the icons back without having to reset the phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

View 16 Replies View RelatedSearched and couldn't find anything on this. Occasionally when i unlock the phone, all of my homescreen widgets are gone. Nothing but the wallpaper is visible. It usually happens when i am browsing on Dolphin and the screen times out. Then i hit the unlock button, swipe across to unlock, and when i hit home key, all apps are gone. Must reboot to get widgets back. Has anyone had this problem or know what to do to fix it?

Somehow I got my phone to go into a landscape mode home screen, I'm running 2.1 v2 and I've had the phone for almost 5 months and I've never seen this happen, and now I can't make it happen again. Turning it on its side does nothing to the home screen. Has anybody else seen this? The phone was just an icon and everything seemed to look fine, like it was meant to be landscaped.

I like LP better because of the scrollable bar bit when I hit the home key or back up to home, about 50+% of the time it takes ten seconds to redraw. I do ude widgets but it should not be this bad. In settings I tried keeping LP in memory, I set high mem useage and many of the other options and its the same. I even uninstalled wiped cache pulled battery and its the same. Is there a setting config I should be using, or not?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just received a new Droid X yesterday from VZW and immediately upgraded it to official 2.2. The thing seems slower and more jerky than my stock incredible which is pretty damn smooth. If I scroll through the homescreens with a static (non live) wallpaper, it's almost like the walpaper stutters and jumps forward and back a fraction of an inch as it moves across the screen. Haven't really noticed it when using a live wallpaper. Anyone else see this? Really frustrating. Dissapointingly I might have to go back to the DINC if this continues. I don't notice this at all when using Launcher Pro.
