Does anyone know how to update your photo for your contact when its placed on the home screen? Like I have peoples photos synced from facebook and it updates when I call the user but the photo on the home screen doesn't update. Am I missing something?

I saw a previous thread (Changing my contact card picture) where a similar question was never quite resolved. I have the same issue except that my contact card has automatically synced to my facebook and I would prefer to change to a different picture that is not my facebook profile picture. There's no option to do so under people->my contact card and if I go to a picture in my albums it only lets me set the photo for a contact that is not me.

Some contacts from Gmail successfully imported to the phone
Many still have not, including anyone who was a "favorite"
Some of the email address of my "favorites" have transferred over, but none of their phone numbers have
I let the sync go over night and the problem persisted
If i check it in setting, the sync will periodically say "there's a problem with the sync, check back shortly" but continue to attempt to sync
My battery drained today because the phone continued to try and sync unsuccessfully
Any tips on how to solve this problem?
I did the 2.1 droid Eris update, and found a few issues.
One might just be me, but I had my droid set the way I wanted it to be before the update, and now I have no clue how to get back to my original settings. So, trying not to sound like a dumbass here.
1. When I turn the phone off and then back on, my messages widgets goes away from the screen I have it on. All that shows up is a little folder that I have NOTHING IN. And it's really starting to bug me, 'cause I love that little widget where I can just cycle through the messages.
Do I have to lock just that screen? It's the only widget affected when the phone goes on and off.
2. None of my contacts got erased; however, I noticed that my one primary is set to text, but when I go to edit the profile, it's set to call. This one I might just leave alone, but none of the ringtones that I have set for them are working. I saw a thread earlier about the People thing, but I'm not sure if I fixed this. And how would I go about changing the primary method of contact (text/call) or is set permanently like that?
Prolly a dumb question but I can't figure out how to update an existing contact using the call history. In the call history window I can press and hold on a call. This brings up the "save to contacts" option. Not sure what to do after that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know we're getting 5 homescreens in 2.1. still no idea when we'll get that update! last I heard Motorola was in their final testing phase and at that Nexus One conference the head of Moto said the same.. within a few days it should have been ported. Har har we all knew that wasn't happening that quick. I've got my 3 homescreens maxed, and I really would like to use a homescreen app to have more. I don't want to sacrifice stability and I don't need crazy features, I'm simply looking to just go up to 5-7 screens so I can test some larger widgets out in the meantime. My girlfriends contact; I would prefer to have a photo that I took as contact pic; everytime I edit the photo, it reconfigures to the facebook pic. What can I do about this? And the second thing, is anyone else completely disappointed with how difficult it is to copy and paste text from a browser page? I goto settings to select text and no magnifying feature comes up, not to mention that it immediately selects whatever is highlighted once I remove my finger from the screen.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got the eris a couple weeks ago, and then the trackball died so verizon sent me a new one. Now on the new phone when I try to change my homescreen wallpaper, it always wants to zoom in on the image. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it will let me use the full width, but not the full length while looking at the phone with the buttons on the bottom. So I have an image that is 320x480, and it wants to crop it down to 200x200 for example. It zooms in and makes it a square, instead of a rectangle like the screen is. I just want the wallpaper to be what it looks like when the image first opens from the photo album app. But as soon as I try to make it a wallpaper it wants to zoom in and make the photo look dumb.

On my HTC Legend (HTC Sense with Android 2.1) if you go to add and folder from a homescreen you have a choice of All people, Facebook Phonebook, Phones, Starred (Favorites). Is it possible to create another folder that will hold members of a contact group that I have created? I can create a new empty folder but don't know how to put contacts into this instead of other home screen icons (this would do if I can't use contact groups).
