Feb 10, 2010With any of the homescreen replacement apps (Launcher 2.1, Home++, Sweeter Home Preview 2) my phone refuses to save which homescreen I want to be default for when I hit the "Home" button. This didn't use to be true. Something changed somewhere along the way, and now it'll save the "default action" for a little while and then it'll ask me to select again.

Dec 23, 2009Just realized that when I go into "Contacts" and select to email a contact that it is pulling up GMail rather than my Corporate Email client. All of my contacts are synced from my Outlook through my corporate Exchange server so I need to be sending the email from my corporate email. I've gone into corporate email and selected to make this the "default" email client, but it is still pulling up GMail when I select to email from Contacts. I also have the "Corporate Contacts" app that I downloaded from the Market. It syncs with Exchange as well, but it is also pulling up GMail when I select to email from there as well. Is there another default switch somewhere that I'm missing?

Jul 26, 2010I am new to this forum and I am new to Android. I been a happy order of a droid x since July 19. I linked all my contacts with their corresponding facebook and/or twitter account. I set it so that the facebook is the main display name but a few of contacts are changing to the twitter's username as the display for the contact. How do to make it so the facebook is the default. All my contacts has facebook is the default but 3 contacts are being stubborn and want to change to twitter.

May 17, 2010Running a a droid with the stock 2.2. Sat night they all disappeared as did any call history. Tried importing from SD card and they would not sync. When I try the names flash with a progress bar saying that its syncing... but they never show up in my contacts list. Also tried importing from my gmail account and that was useless too.

Aug 4, 2010I performed a backup prior to flashing back to the SS 4.5 and have used the ROM before however I have no idea why my contacts aren't coming back up at all. My SD card is in the droid, and I know the contacts file is there just fine, but is almost as if it just isn't being seen, so none of my fb contact info will sync naturally because it doesn't see any contact info to sync to. Any ideas on how to get the contacts back up? The only other change I made was I changed to a 1.1 GHz LV kernal since the 1.0 was giving me problems...

Dec 27, 2009I've had this happen three or four times now...two types of occurrences:
1. Edit an existing contact...when I select "Done" the screen says "Saving" and then returns to the contact list - and the contact I edited is gone.
2. Create a new contact - enter name, address, phone, select Done, "Saving" message appears, return to contact list, and the contact is not in the list.
Looked under all variants of the name (first, last, etc.) and it's just not there.
I'm creating the contacts on my primary account.
I'm on 2.01, no rooting, using the built-in contact manager.

Jan 13, 2010I am not having a single issue with my phone, not a one. No contacts missing ,backlights not working, no rebooting on its own I absolutley love my Droid ,it even took two drops and not even a bruise. How many other of you are not having any issue with your DROID ?

The only problem is that I have to force quit my default homescreen (in this case it's called "LG Homescreen")--task-killers won't work and I have to go into the application settings to force it. Fine. But every time I reboot my phone it runs along side of adw and I want only adw when the phone boots. I already set adw as my default homscreen, no change.

It is an apk and it has been tested and proven to work on FroYo and �clair (not sure about Cupcake/Donut). Install through adb or a file explorer. I tried it out, not too bad. Still prefer LauncherPro but I can show this off if an iPhone fanboy talks about how great iPhone UI is. Couple of notes: -To edit bottom dock, go into menu, press edit, this allows you to move icons around between dock and menu. -To edit order of homescreens or # of homescreens, go home, press menu and then edit. Couple of flaws: -Cannot set your own icons for bottom dock (you can change which apps are there but cannot use custom icons). Cannot set a default homescreen.

Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

Jun 7, 2010Wasn't sure exactly how to ask this, but here we go So, for example, I installed "Dialer One", a dialer replacement.So whenever I hit the "Phone" button, it asks how I want to complete the action. Using Dialer One, or Phone. And it gives me the option to "Use by default for this action".So, lets say I want to use Dialer One by default, but then I change my mind. How do I set it back to the default Phone.Obviously, this question applies to more than just the phone app. After writing all that I think the simple way to ask my question is- I really just want to know how to undo the 'use by default for this action' choices I may make in the future.

Mar 18, 2010Well we've pretty much all heard by now that 2.1 will not be including any more than 3 Home screens. I was REALLY hoping for 5, as 3 is not enough and I'd like more room to play with Widgets. Even with folders and some snazzy organizing it's still not great.
What's the status on Home Screen Replacement Apps? All I know about it Home++ but last I read it was pretty buggy and Force Closed quite a bit. I'm not looking for anything crazy I really just simply want more than 3 screens, 5-7 ideally...are there any apps out there that handle just this?

Har har we all knew that wasn't happening that quick. I've got my 3 homescreens maxed, and I really would like to use a homescreen app to have more. I don't want to sacrifice stability and I don't need crazy features, I'm simply looking to just go up to 5-7 screens so I can test some larger widgets out in the meantime. I'm not rooted and I don't really want to either. What's best? Home++?

May 18, 2010I've done the searching and nothing has solved my problem and the last time this was brought as far as I can tell was back in December. My issue is that there is no consistent time when this happens. Sometimes it happens as I unlock the homescreen, as I'm exiting out of an application, as I rotate the screen, and even as I'm shifting between home screens. It also happens randomly based off of my last reset. Since it started (about a month ago) it has happened as long as 3 days after my last reset and sometimes as soon as 20 minutes after. I've tried installing the Home++ application but that did not solve the problem either. Does anyone know of a setting or way to bring the icons back without having to reset the phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jul 14, 2010Searched and couldn't find anything on this. Occasionally when i unlock the phone, all of my homescreen widgets are gone. Nothing but the wallpaper is visible. It usually happens when i am browsing on Dolphin and the screen times out. Then i hit the unlock button, swipe across to unlock, and when i hit home key, all apps are gone. Must reboot to get widgets back. Has anyone had this problem or know what to do to fix it?
