HTC Droid Eris :: Can I Reduce Number Of Slides On Homescreen?
Jan 16, 2010As it stands, there are 7 different sections of the homescreen on my Eris that you can scroll through. Is there a way to adjust this number or not?

Motorola Droid X :: Customizing Phone With Launcherpro - Changed The Number Of Colums On Homescreen
Sep 29, 2010I was customizing my phone with Launcherpro, i changed the number of colums on my homescreen, and now the phone just keeps forcing close of launcherpro. I cant get past it, reset the phone and it came back right away! I hope this thing isnt bricked! Battery is sitting next to the phone for the next 15 minutes, crossing my fingers!

Oct 29, 2010I insatalled launcher pro two days ago, loved it but the phone has become reallll slow sinc, im using a Samsung Galaxy S, i setted the LauncherPro as my main launcher and is great but i can tel that is laggin ad takes a while i between things.Im using Task killer to stop running apps, but that does not helped much,. Using Android system Info i saw a great number of running task that i did not even know, is crazi, i olny have 12% of free ram. how cani stop all this task from running?

Aug 11, 2010Looking for a few tips on reducing my lag without rooting. I have read mixed reviews on the advanced task killer and also am not sure how i should set the frequency and level of kill if I did use it. Also is there a major difference in lag if I were to root. I like the phones stock features and wouldn't be interested in doing anything other than speeding the phone up. I have jailbroken an iPhone so I may be a little familiar with the process but all help is appreciated.

I know you can use the contacts widget and add people to that, but I really only need it for my girlfriend and I don't want a huge screen hog like the contacts widget. Jul 7, 2010Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

Feb 26, 2010I just got the eris a couple weeks ago, and then the trackball died so verizon sent me a new one. Now on the new phone when I try to change my homescreen wallpaper, it always wants to zoom in on the image. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it will let me use the full width, but not the full length while looking at the phone with the buttons on the bottom. So I have an image that is 320x480, and it wants to crop it down to 200x200 for example. It zooms in and makes it a square, instead of a rectangle like the screen is. I just want the wallpaper to be what it looks like when the image first opens from the photo album app. But as soon as I try to make it a wallpaper it wants to zoom in and make the photo look dumb.

Apr 12, 2010Somehow I got my phone to go into a landscape mode home screen, I'm running 2.1 v2 and I've had the phone for almost 5 months and I've never seen this happen, and now I can't make it happen again. Turning it on its side does nothing to the home screen. Has anybody else seen this? The phone was just an icon and everything seemed to look fine, like it was meant to be landscaped.

May 25, 2010I have several different screen layouts when I slide to the left or to the right. As of 5 minutes ago, when I press the Home key, it goes to the home screen, but then automatically slides to the screen to the left, and then slides again to the left. I dont know if this might be something I accidentally programmed without knowing, or if its just some kind of bug.

During this time I've noticed that on occasions the screen will slide to the right without me touching the screen.For example sometimes when I unlock the phone the homepage will slide to the far right, or when viewing a web page it slides to the right.Sometimes this is quite subtle and not too much of a problem. Other times the phone is unusable as a result and requires a restart.Initially I thought this was due to me putting the phone in my pocket without a case. Jan 11, 2010I have the giant clock/weather widget on my homescreen (the one that comes on the phone when you first get it and the one most people probably use). I have seen animations of this clock on the HTC site that show the digits flipping over. And you would think it would do that anyway based on the design. However, I noticed my doesn't really flip. The digits just change instantaneously. No flipping animation. Is this just mine or is that how it is? I was actually hoping it would flip because I always thought it looked neat.

Jun 6, 2010It is my first smartphone. I put in all my contacts manually so that I could get the feel of the phone and learn the basics. On all my previous stupid phones, the contact phone number automatically formated to 901-555-1212. With the Eris it is 9015551212. Anyway to change this? I have searched other threads with the same question but no one ever replies. I have search the net with no luck. Should I just take it that there is no way to automatically change this. I have gone through and put in the extra ticks between the numbers manually but that is a pain in the arse.

Oct 14, 2010Moving on, my problem has to do with "Call-History". What I've noticed is that while I can see the phone-numbers of people in my contacts list people whose number I do not have show up as, bear with me, "Unknown". When I navigate to "Call History", (Say a friend whose number I don't have calls me). I can't add their number to my contact list. This is an increasingly frustrating problem for me. I'll navigate to the "Call History" screen and find that there's no way for me to identify what numerical-phone number called me. There will simply be the designation; "Unknown", while holding down on the entry (while the time/length of the call can be viewed). There is no way to add nor even view, the again, [Unknown] number to my contact list. Phones are ultimately communication devices, if I can't find a solution, well, I'm convinced that I'm going to have to down-grade from a smart-phone to something capable of recording and adding unknown numbers.
