I am writing my first Android app. The app is displays bus stop information i want to have a panel for each stop that the user can scroll sideways through, like a weather app with a panel for each city.
Looking at the Dev Guide I don't see how to do this. What Layout Object/ViewGroup should I be using?

I wan't to create a slide panel that slides from the bottom of the screen. That slide panel stops in a certain point on screen. When I'm stopping to move the slide panel the position of the panel will be fixed in place until I will touch the panel again and drag it to the bottom of the edge of the screen to it's start position.

I was told to use a home screen replacement, which I tried, and that did not work. I have had a rooted phone since before i even walked out of the T-Mobile store with it and it has never misbehaved or done anything strange. Now, however, i noticed what can only be described as a small series of chevrons or arrows that were blinking on the lower middle of the screen. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to build a layout dynamically which display some text and image for the most part, but has a series of buttons placed next to each other in the bottom. I have a linear layout that carries the text, another linear layout that carries the image. And yet another linear layout that carries the buttons that get created in a for loop. I have a main layout aligned vertical that adds the text, image and buttons layout, in that order. To finally generate something like this: Text Image Button1 Button2 Button3. The problem is the number of buttons get decided at runtime, so if there are more than 4 buttons, the 5th button gets displayed really tiny. Also, when I tilt the phone, I get only the text and image showing, but no buttons because the image covers the entire screen. Layout thing seems to be pretty complicated to me, any help is appreciated!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm making a drawing app. In the centre of the screen, I want the app to contain the user's drawing. At the top of the screen I want buttons for different drawing tools. When a drawing tool is selected, I want buttons specific to that tool to appear at the bottom of the app (e.g. the brush tool might show a "increase brush size" button at the bottom of the screen), replacing what buttons might be there from before. What's a good way to do this?
At the moment, I'm using a relative layout for the whole GUI, then adding a separate linear layout for each tool panel at the bottom of the screen (i.e. the panels overlap when shown together). When a tool button is clicked, I hide all the settings panels except for the one related to the selected tool. This seems a bit messy but I'm not sure how else to do it. It would be nice if I could do it in a way that keeps the code modular for each tool.
Does anyone know of Otterbox will be releasing a commuter series case for the Incredible? Would it be possible with the current battery cover?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new phone and have started using the stock Android calendar. I put in my work schedule as a recurring series...M,W,Th,F at the same time every week. I am taking a Friday off in a few weeks, so I went to delete that event only and there is NO option to delete just that day. My options are "This & future events" or "All events". I also tried Jorte calendar app at the recommendation of a Verizon employee and it is doing the same thing. There has to be a setting or something I am missing. I should not have to re-input all my data every time I take a day off. My old phone gave me the option to delete "This event only".

Sometimes editing a recurring event shows "Change only this event", "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events" options, but other times the only options are "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events". Does anyone know what you have to do to get the "Change only this event" option when editing a recurring event?

I really enjoy the case, but I have noticed that the sides of the back part of the case tend to give and squeek alot if I put pressure on them.
