HTC Hero :: Can't Receive Delivery Reports
Dec 31, 2009My HTC Hero does not receive delivery reports. I have selected the delivery reports check box just as it is told in the user manual. Still, no delivery reports are received. Does some one have a solution/answer to this issue?

Nov 27, 2011As a CM7 user, I thought that this is not possible in Android, but for a day, I have been using MIUI rom and it had an excellent SMS feature where you could see the real time when the text message was actually received by the person you sent it to.
There is something like that in Go SMS, but the 'received' time given by this program is fake. Once the delivery report is confirmed, the 'received' time is set to the same as 'sent' time. In MIUI it was the real 'received' time that was recorded for later view.
Also, MIUI firmware seemed to be able to read this value for SMS messages sent before installation of this firmware, which would suggest this value is stored in any firmware.
So, the question is - how can I get the REAL 'received' time on a non-MIUI rom?
Additionally, is is possible to set a sound for notification your SMS has been received by the addressee? Again, this function is present in MIUI.

May 24, 2010I'm curious on this one. On my old Voyager I was able to get delivery reports with a check mark in my sent items folder, so I knew if my tm went through. Today I was told that someone was not getting my texts, which was a problem on there end, since I was able to send and receive to others without issue. So I was curious, and found a setting in the stock messaging app to enable delivery reports. It works, however it just displays a little envelope with a green exclamation point in it.
This is cool and all, however I get that same icon for both successful deliveries and to ones that show up as "Pending" when I view the report. So I was wondering if this is normal for Android phones, or if there is an app I can use to get a better icon/report for delivered texts.

Apr 13, 2013Many user are facing a serious issue with Facebook Messenger: it automatically activate the Delivery Report in SMS when using it as the main SMS app. So, what's the matter? Well, the problem is that in some country (as here in Italy) the delivery reports are billed 0,20 € each!! Many users spent near 10€ to realize where the problem is.
So my questions is : is there a way to "mod" the facebook messenger app to disable this terrible delivery reports "functionality"?

Oct 29, 2009Is there a way to receive pictures from Chomp SMS? I had this set as my default text app (due to battery issues with the stock message app). I was sent a photo attached to a text message but it said that the mms did not down load. I couldn't figure out how to view it so I had to go into the stock message app and download the photo. Is there a way to view from ChompsSms instead of having to use the stock app?

Removing / barring the pre-update issues with the native messaging app on the phone, which one of these do you prefer? I am currently using the native app, seems fine to me, I like that I can link contacts to FB etc. Not necessarily looking for something that plagiarize's the iPhone messenger (cartoon bubbles), but I am always open to something new if it is better than the app preloaded on the phone. If you don't use the native app, is there a widget for Handcent or Chomp (like the native) to make viewing and responding easy?

Sep 16, 2010after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

Jul 5, 2010I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

Apr 23, 2010As I am considering switching to the Incredible from the Moto DROID (just as I'm sure many others are considering switching from currently capable phones), I thought this would be a great thread to have for those of us taking the wait-and-see approach. I am interested to see what - if any - major issues might crop up on this phone before I take the leap.I also thought it would be a great resource for new Incredible owners to have a place to look and see if there are known issues with the phone and possible remedies to them. I will check the thread as often as I can and update the OP so the information will be readily at hand.
HARDWARE
- Poor Reception? It has been reported by some users and reviewers that reception is questionable, including fluctuating 3G coverage, but there are other users which dispute this. It is not likely that there will be a definitive answer on this until after the release date when a much larger number of users in more markets are able to test their reception.
- AMOLED screen is difficult to view in direct sunlight. Known issue with all AMOLED screens and seems to be improved from the N1
- Back of phone / battery door is described as feeling somewhat "flimsy" compared to phones with more solid construction. NOTE: This is somewhat up for debate. Users are reporting that this is not the case, but there are reviewers and some users who still stand by their assessment.
- Vibration is reported to be weak, a known issue with the HTC Droid Eris.
- Some users are reporting significant noise in photos taken with the 8MP camera.
ANDROID / SENSE UI
- Apps are currently unable to use the built-in 8GB of storage. There is speculation this will be remedied, but no answer yet.
- When headphones are connected to the audio jack and speaker output is selected, if you terminate fm radio with headphones plugged in and screen off by removing the headphones...the program terminates but radio doesn't shut off and sound still comes from the speaker. Have to restart phone to have it shutoff...doesn't show up in advanced task killer. Not yet confirmed by other users.
APPLICATIONS
- Android Market is currently not displaying certain apps because Google has not yet updated it to support the Incredible's ROM; this should be remedied soon.
- Flash Lite has been reported by one user to stop the data connection with some videos, requiring a battery pull to remedy the situation. No confirmation on this yet.
