Oct 18, 2010I'd just like to sing the praises of the RAC Traffic app. It's bloody useful, especially for those who have a commute along the British motorways. Last week, I set off towards the M40 in Warwickshire and hit a bit of traffic. Unusual for 7:35am along that route. The traffic started building up and I started to panic in-case I was late for work. So, I got the Wildfire out, loaded the RAC Traffic app and had a look. 90 minute delays on the M40 Southbound. As I was going North, I stayed in the traffic jam. Needless to say, where the roundabout was that split the North and South traffic there was absolutely no traffic going my way.
Extremely useful as I stopped panicking and just listened to Last FM (via Bluetooth). It happened again this weekend, too! We were going on a trip (around 45 minute drive) and we hit traffic. Got the phone out, looked at the traffic, and managed to use an alternate route through the residential areas using my SatNav. I'd strongly recommend this application to anyone who has to do a bit of driving/has a lengthy commute.

Jun 16, 2009I'm wondering if there's an app out there that can track traffic patterns/route times. I know that those Runners apps. can track speed/time to destination, but I'm interested in being able to track which highways/roads have the most/least amounts of traffic on which days and at which times, or which roads cause you to wait the longest at certain lights, so that I can know in advance (the app. would alert me which route to take on which day according to data collected over time). I've always been kind of fascinated by traffic patterns, but I'm also a fairly focused driver, so I don't generally look at times it has taken me on different days. You can feel like taking a back way one day, but does it really save you any time with all the lights you hit instead?

Aug 18, 2009Im going to Germany tomorrow, lives in denmark, and i have found out that data traffic is quite expensive, so i've got two options, either to unsubscrib from data traffic in other conuntries at my phone company or find out if there is a way to set the HTC Hero to not use data traffic for homescreen widgets and so forth, as it would be nice to be able to turn it on if i need to check something urgent.

Oct 30, 2010After I either receive a phone call or make one, (and other undocumented interruptions) my application gets a NullPointerException when resuming my activity. I've had a few people send me some MMS and I have not received them whether I am on WiFi or not. I am using chompSMS as well, and am able to receive SMS just fine.What gives? Nov 7, 2009This is a weird one! I'm with O2, so can't ask them for help as the Hero is not on their support list.
Everytime I'm in Germany and my friend tries to text me (using a Sony-Ericsson phone) vis the 3 network, she gets an error message saying that the text has failed. As a result, I can't receive any texts from her when abroad. This problem has only started since I started using the Hero.
Anybody else experienced this when roaming and being sent an sms from the 3 network?
