I deselected all notifications in the default messages app, I dont get notifications from the default messages app but whenever I receive a text, advanced task manager free shows that chompSMS and messages are both open! How do I stop this from happening?

I just installed Chomp SMS and i love it but my default text message still plays and goes off how do i take it off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble figuring out how to save a picture sent to be via text using Chomp SMS. I even tried mounting the Droid and trying to find it, but I can't find the folder that the "details" indicate in Chomp SMS. Any suggestions?

Is there anyway to clear defaults for the stock messaging app? I already tried going into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, but I can't seem to find the Messaging app.. Help? I'd really like to set chompSMS as my default Messaging service, but I accidentally selected the stock Messaging app as the default when it asked me to.

I was sent a photo attached to a text message but it said that the mms did not down load. I couldn't figure out how to view it so I had to go into the stock message app and download the photo. Is there a way to view from ChompsSms instead of having to use the stock app?

Removing / barring the pre-update issues with the native messaging app on the phone, which one of these do you prefer? I am currently using the native app, seems fine to me, I like that I can link contacts to FB etc. Not necessarily looking for something that plagiarize's the iPhone messenger (cartoon bubbles), but I am always open to something new if it is better than the app preloaded on the phone. If you don't use the native app, is there a widget for Handcent or Chomp (like the native) to make viewing and responding easy?

As you can see, in Android Setting Menu, when you scroll through the ListView, the focused ListItem has a red backgroud to highlight its focus. Does any way to change the default behavior by highlighting it with other color or just a bottom red line under this Item.

Has anyone else noticed this? While responding to a SMS (using the physical keyboard), I will hit the "Enter" button on the keypad to send the message. Once it's sent, I will close the slider and hit the Home button (or Back button to get to my conversation list) to get back to the home screen, and either the "Message" icon or "Phone" icon is highlighted (has the default orange background) and you have to touch something on the home screen to make it go away.
I know this isn't anything HUGE, just a minor annoyance that happens to me. I have restarted the phone, but it still does it about 70% of the time. Curious if anyone else has noticed this or if it was just a specific glitch on my phone?
When we expand the notification expanded view ,we get a default white background with small squares. how can i change this white background to some other color.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need help finding the right email app.The default one is horrible. The problem I am having is that it doesn't differentiate new emails from old. Every time I open the inbox in any of my email accounts, it always shows all emails as new. I don't know which one's I read or not. It's not bad if it takes me directly to the email, but when I have emails for multiple inboxes, I don't know which ones have the new email. I called tmobile tech support and was told that unless I delete the read emails from the server, the phone will keep reloading them as new. On my old phone, the messages I read where marked as read and stayed that way. When I got a new email, it was clear which one it was because it was highlighted.
Also, I've just switched to the g1 from a business phone, so I'm really new to this still. The couple things that I would like to figure out how to do is, first, I would like to know how I can search my contacts both by name or business. I've transfered the contact info from outlook to the g1 and so I have both name and business information. However, when I search using the keyboard, I can only search by name. If I put in the name of the company, it doesn't show up. Also, is it possible to have both shown. On my old phone when searched for either the person name or business name, the result showed both. For example, if I searched for lauren or Unico, it would show up as Lauren with Unico below it. Also, this way if I have more than one lauren, I can distinguish between them without having to click through each one.
Secondly, is it possible to set up "speed dial" function. Basically, if I pull up the dialer and press 2 for like 2 seconds it will. Third, I used to have my phone setup that I would have what ever my next appointment was, it would show on the home screen. Is that possible with this phone. Is it possible to allocate certain space on the home screen to preview upcoming appointments.
I just installed handcent and it works great. The only thing is i get double the messages. I get one to my handcent and one to my default messaging app. I dont think i can uninstall the default program and i tried messing around with settings but still nothing.. Anyway i can turn off the messages going to my default messaging app?

I've seen other widgets starting to use the exact same background.However, I can't find this background anywhere. The widget design guidelines.How can I get hold of that background? I recall reading through posts before that the lack of the popup was a big negative for Chomp. Just spreading the news, not saying any one app is better than the other. Do what you want with this information.
