I want to know is there any way to replace software which are responsible for this operations with another form stock GB ROMs from other phones like Milestone 2 or Defy? The current ROM I have is DEODEXED stock GB.
My HTC Hero does not receive delivery reports. I have selected the delivery reports check box just as it is told in the user manual. Still, no delivery reports are received. Does some one have a solution/answer to this issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs a CM7 user, I thought that this is not possible in Android, but for a day, I have been using MIUI rom and it had an excellent SMS feature where you could see the real time when the text message was actually received by the person you sent it to.
There is something like that in Go SMS, but the 'received' time given by this program is fake. Once the delivery report is confirmed, the 'received' time is set to the same as 'sent' time. In MIUI it was the real 'received' time that was recorded for later view.
Also, MIUI firmware seemed to be able to read this value for SMS messages sent before installation of this firmware, which would suggest this value is stored in any firmware.
So, the question is - how can I get the REAL 'received' time on a non-MIUI rom?
Additionally, is is possible to set a sound for notification your SMS has been received by the addressee? Again, this function is present in MIUI.
On my HTC desire in the SMS settings i have ticked the receive delivery report when an SMS is delivered to another phone However..........i never get a report!! I used to get a sms with my old phone
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm curious on this one. On my old Voyager I was able to get delivery reports with a check mark in my sent items folder, so I knew if my tm went through. Today I was told that someone was not getting my texts, which was a problem on there end, since I was able to send and receive to others without issue. So I was curious, and found a setting in the stock messaging app to enable delivery reports. It works, however it just displays a little envelope with a green exclamation point in it.
This is cool and all, however I get that same icon for both successful deliveries and to ones that show up as "Pending" when I view the report. So I was wondering if this is normal for Android phones, or if there is an app I can use to get a better icon/report for delivered texts.
how to turn on delivery reports for chomp sms? it says that it now supports delivery reports but i don't know where it is.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMany user are facing a serious issue with Facebook Messenger: it automatically activate the Delivery Report in SMS when using it as the main SMS app. So, what's the matter? Well, the problem is that in some country (as here in Italy) the delivery reports are billed 0,20 € each!! Many users spent near 10€ to realize where the problem is.
So my questions is : is there a way to "mod" the facebook messenger app to disable this terrible delivery reports "functionality"?
Can the report be modified, or is there an app, that can tell me when the message was sent, when it was delivered, and most importantly to me, when it was opened/accessed or read.

View 7 Replies View RelatedConsumer Reports is supposed to have its finger on the pulse of the country. Recently, 50,000 readers were polled and only 54% were completely or very satisfied with their carrier and 67% had at least one major complaint. The top rated carrier was-no surprise-Verizon Wireless. Big Red finished numero uno with a score of 75. Number two with 70 points was T-Mobile. Sprint was third and AT&T was at the bottom with scores of 67 and 66, respectively.
The top ranked smartphone was the Apple iPhone 3GS with a score of 74, followed by the iPhone 3G with 71. The first non-iPhone model was the HTC Touch Pro2, also with a score of 71. The latter device is available on all of the top four U.S. carriers and twice was sold out at Verizon, once at AT&T where it is known as the Tilt2. Tied for third with a score of 70 was the HTC Imagio, Samsung Omnia, Nokia N97 and myTouch 3G. Despite heavy anticipation of its launch for the first half of the year, the Palm Pre was not a high scorer in the survey. To demonstrate the depth of love for the top ranked device, 98% of iPhone users said that they would buy another iPhone while 79% of other models were able to answer that they would buy their phone again. As for featurephones, the multi-talented LG enV Touch scored the highest with a 74 followed by the Samsung Alias 2 with a 72. Tied with a score of 70 was the Samsung Rogue and the LG Versa, all Verizon phones. Sprint's top featurephone was the Samsung Instinct HD with a 66 and the top AT&T model was the LG Xenon with a 69.
Looking for the best app for up to minute traffic reports, etc. Is there one that you can integrate into Google Maps?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am really getting sick of the short battery on my Incredible. As much as I hate the physical buttons on the X,I'm still contemplating moving to the X from the Dinc.I still have about 10 days to decide and I was hoping you guys might be willing to share your use of the phone and how long it is lasting. Yesterday I surfed for about an hour, Pandora for an hour, 20 minutes of phone calls, 5-10 text messages and emails (short ones), and about a dozen photos taken at the lowest res the camera offers (keep 'em small).I played Jewels about an hour total. No GPS, No Wifi for the day.I don't do twitter, facebook, etc. and don't have any apps running that are drains like live wallpapers and other "monitoring" software.I started at about 7:30 and the phone shut off around 6:40 or so -- about 11 hours. This is with the "bump charge" so I started with a completely full battery.

View 8 Replies View Relatedwhen the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent. But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks. Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.
View 49 Replies View RelatedAnyone else noticed the gmail delivery from the Droid sometimes takes days? It doesn't always happen, and doesn't seem to matter the domain to which you are sending, even other gmail accounts. For example, I sent an email on a Friday, and it wasn't recieved until the following Monday. A friend of mine, another Droid user, sent an email to me and I didn't get it for three days. He too says he's noticed delayed mail delivery from the Droid. I've also noticed that sometimes the gmail icon opens a state of gmail from several days ago. I have to refresh the screen to get to 'current' data, even though I used gmail daily on the Droid.
View 8 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else have to power cycle their droid once a day to get emails to down load. Usually once a day the emails stop. To get them to start again, I need to power cycle the phone then the emails continue for around a day then stop again. Thoughts?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOn the Motorola Droid what does the little icon mean next to a text that has a little red clock on it? I can't find it anywhere. Also, is there a way to see if someone received a text message? on my other verizon phones I could. It showed a little check mark.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI notice that when I open Advanced Task Killer I see all kinds of apps I never started up and ran, even if I kill them, the next time I open ATK, after the phone goes to sleep or I go off to something else and come back, there some of them are again.Alarm Clock - and this has an icon (red bell) next to it that is NOT the Alarm Clock apps icon (white face clock) that comes on the phone so kind of curious what the heck it is?Corporate Calendar never use this, never use an Exchange server, don't want it to run.
View 11 Replies View Relatedthis may have been asked and simply not answered but I will try anyway: Is there an architecture for delivering live video for the android platform? Apple has adopted the Segmented TS/M3U8 playlist approach and have submitted to the IETF. Microsoft seems to be adopting the Fragmented MP4 standard (ISO/IEC 14492-12 -... ) for the smooth streaming platform. What does Android plan on implementing? How would one develop an application today?

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo like everyone else I was getting really annoyed about the time stamp issue with handcent under 2.2. I looked at the release notes for handcent and saw that version 3.27 added some sort of timestamp fix for the Droid X. Apparently this actually causes problems with the DroidX 2.2 official release. I got an older copy of handcent (version 3.26) and now everything appears with the correct time stamps. I got the apk from here: Download Handcent SMS for Android at Freeware Lovers. You will also need to use the app SMS Time Fix from the market to address the problem with the delay that causes messages to be out of order. So I guess one less thing broken, now if only they can fix the double lock.
