View 2 RepliesI've taken a look at pictures and reviews ad it seems there is no hook for attaching it to a neck strap.I'm pretty used to have my smartphone attached to a neck strap to avoid forgetting it at random places and protect it against accidental falls.I know that the milestone is heavy (165g), but my current phone is not really light (124g).Is there really no hook?
View 8 Replies View RelatedBy default, files saved to the internal storage are private to your application and other applications cannot access them (nor can the user).I am able to see the file "/data/data/package_name/files/ in file explore in DDMS, but when i attached the above file URI using imageUri in email , then i saw that attached file is of 0kb.i have used the default email APIs of Android. Can anyone suggest me ,how to attach a file in email that is private to the application?although i am successful able to save the file in SD card and attaching the file from SD card , this is working fine. But if SD card is not available and saving the file to the internal storage , then how can i attach them in email.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy application stores data locally in the native SQLite db, and I want to allow users to export this data by emailing themself a .csv file. In order to do this I'm generating the .csv from the database and writing it to the SD card, then attaching it to an email:String Builder csv = generateFile();writeFile(csv.toString(),"file.csv");Intent email = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_SEND);email.setType ("application /octet -stream"); email.putExtra(android.content.Intent. EXTRA_ STREAM, Uri.parse ("file://sdcard/file.csv")); Which all works great. What I'm wondering, though, is if it is possible to skip the step of writing to SD first, and directly attach the data.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to launch an Intent to send an email. All of that works, but when I try to actually send the email a couple 'weird' things happen. So if I launch using the Gmail menu context It shows the attachment, lets me type who the email is to, and edit the body & subject. No big deal. I hit send, and it sends. The only thing is the attachment does NOT get sent.I figured, why not try it w/ the Email menu context (for my backup email account on my phone). It shows the attachment, but no text at all in the body or subject. When I send it, the attachment sends correctly. That would lead me to believe something is quite wrong. Do I need a new permission in the Manifest launch an intent to send email w/ attachment? What am I doing wrong?

Though I've found a lack in my or the phones abilities:
How do I attach a contact to a text message or an email?
I'm using Roadsync email
How I do it now is: Navigating to the contact I would like to forward, edit it, mark and copy the phone number, paste it into a text/email, write the name of the contact and press send.
Features I also would like to see in the future:
Have the Roadsync application use the "Full Name" field instead of the "File As" field, when syncing contacts with MS-Exchange.
I am unable to use Gtalk, gmail, Maps, Market, Email (all pre installed) using GPRS/EDGE (Vodafone Live) on my Milestone. But All of these works with Wi-Fi connection. I installed Meeboo Messanger, this is also not working with GPRS/EDGE.
I called Motorola Customer care, they are saying that I have to take a DataPlan from Vodafone and should ask Vodafone to activate all GPRS/EDGE settings on my mobile. So I took a DataPlan (200 Rs. 100 MB), Vodafone People are saying that all available setting are already activated on my cell. But I am still unable to use any of them above. Every time no network connection found error is coming.
Everything seems damn fast and it's so simple to set up. Only problem is that I have set up my work e-mail (which sits on a server and is a POP-3 account I think!...can you tell I'm not technical?!?!) using the in-built client on the phone, trouble is that it keeps crashing and has to do a force close on me pretty much every time. I've looked for this same topic in the forum but cant find anything which answers the issue. Is the next software release likely to fix this bug?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI downloaded MSU from motorola support pages, but when i try to install it I get an error message, error shot attached to the post. I tried googling it, but no help there. I tried changing it using 'msiexec /qb', but that didn't help either. My version is Motorola_Software_Update_01.11.84_PROD.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI dont get it.how do you create a group to put contacts into, which you can send a message to, instead of writing to them one by one?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've searched and seen various derivatives of this message throughout this forum, dealing with cameras, or email on different phones etc, but nothing exactly like this for the Milestone. Milestone: "Sorry The application email (process com.android.email) has stopped (unexpectedly) Please try again" followed by a "Force Close" button. This pops up dozens of times per day, causes no real problems that I'm aware of, but is pesky, as I have to keep tapping the 'Force Close" button all the time to make it go away (for a while).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Milestone (aka Droid). I've managed to set up my Milestone to sync my work contacts and calandar via exchange. However, I cannot get my email for some reason - and there's no error message to point me in the right direction. I've tried sending emails too, and that doesn't work. They just sit in my outbox, no matter how many times I refresh. Obviously, I've tried all the obvious things - double checked my settings (which must be ok, given my Calander and Contacts synced, plus I can get to the global address book). I've tried to refresh the mailbox, but nothing happens. When I go to 'Accounts' there is an orange line next to my work account, which perhaps means something is wrong. I wondered if it's perhaps my work's firewall blocking me but again, if I can get into my calander and contacts.

I have problem with PC sync tool. Tool does not connect to phone and hint is not useful.
If understood rigth PC tool is tool for email, calender and browser setup. Those are features which I want use.
I need your helping tips
Hard to rule details without manual but phone is nice.
My brother just bought a Milestone and he's having problems with the SD card (8gb). What happens is that he put some music on his phone, and with the program Ringdroid, began to cut some songs. Then, the phone began to crash, he restarted it. After restarting, the device didn't recognize the memory, saying "Blank sd card or unsupported system", occasionally rebooting, indicates that it was removed. I have looked in other threads and google it, but found nothing useful. I can't unmount or format it from the phone. And as I have the G1, I put my card (that works) on Milestone and got the same problem, so I think it's not the SD. I've already formatted it, nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am getting the following error when I try to play some song using the standard "Music" App: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file" So far I have only had this happen on .ogg files. I can play some .ogg files with no problem but other will not play. Often there is one I can play and one I can't from the same album which I ripped from my CD in the same ripping session so the encoding parameters should be the same. Another weird thing is that I sometime can succeed in playing a song by finding it in OI File Manager and selecting it there. OI File Manager opens in in the "Music" App and it plays not problem, but I cannot open it from within "Music" App!

View 1 Replies View RelatedTook update and all is well, however i now notice if i want to attach a pic to my text the app says too big to send. I looked in setting seems there is a 1 meg limit. Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.
