Motorola Droid :: Reached Data Limit?

Dec 1, 2009

Yesterday (which was the last day of the month), I got a message in the browser saying that I had reached my data limit. It would not load anything. It would still access data over Facebook, Twidroid and Sportstrack, but not the browser. Today, all is fine. So, was that message just in error, or does it sound as if I actually hit my limit? I heard around here that they were not really going to be monitoring the usage unless you were on the business plan. I suppose I could find out if I could see my total usage numbers, if I was around the 5 GB mark.

HTC Desire :: Reached Limit On Internal Memory / How To Free Up Space?

Jun 9, 2010

I have pretty much reached my limit on internal space, but while looks at my apps list on which to delete because I don't use I found only two. I was wondering what will happen if I clear data on the contacts storage i.e. will I loose my contacts, and with the facebook. Is there a way of clearing the data not uninstalling apps if so what data does it clear?

Android :: SDK Installation Error - No Buffer Space Available - Maximum Connections Reached? - Recv Failed

Feb 3, 2010

I am trying to get my environment setup to develop an android app so I downloaded the SDK(http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html). After unpacking the files and running the SDK Setup.exe, the Android SDK and AVD manager opens up.

During the installation process, I got an error stating the following: Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: HTTPS SSL error. You might want to force download through HTTP in the settings.

So then I proceed to the SETTINGS tab and activated the check box which states: Force https://... sources to be fetched using http://

Then click save and apply. A box flashes on screen, which appears to be the previous box which showed the error, except this time, the progress bar races from 0 to 100% in about a second and then disappears. So clicking the FORCE option seemed to have worked for that issue.

Now, I click on the AVAILABLE PACKAGES tab which is where the Android manager actually downloads all the available resources including every "SDK Platform Android Vx.x" and every "Google API by Google Inc., API x, revision x"

There are green check marks in every check box indicating that I need to download every update.
SO I click INSTALL SELECTED.

The confirmation page comes up. Again, I click INSTALL ACCEPTED.

The INSTALLATION ARCHIVES box pops up and this is where I get stuck. I receive the following errors and I'm not sure what to do from here..

CODE:..................

I did some googling on "No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?)" and apparently it is a socket issue that typically occurs when a database query is called and there are a large number of TCP connections.

But beyond that I'm completely stuck. Can't find anything on my issue relating to Android SDK installation and I don't really know where to turn to continue with the SDK installation.

Android :: Appbrain 500 - Error Server Error The Server Encountered An Error And Could Not Complete Your Request

May 5, 2010

Using appbrain on my PC seems to work fine when I'm not logged in. When I do log in and try to click on an app I get this error message:

"Error: Server Error The server encountered an error and could not complete your request. If the problem persists, please report your problem and mention this error message and the query that caused it."

Anyone else have this issue when using Appbrain on their pc?

Well, It looks like I solved the problem. I just deleted my account and created it again and it's fixed (for now).

Motorola Droid :: Error Uploading Videos To Facebook

Nov 10, 2009

The facebook app definitely has not links to it. I used the browser to get to the site and selected full site. I get all the way into upload and the upload page says uploads disabled. Anyone know why this would be?I registered my phone number on my previous phone (same number/provider now) with facebook and have an upload email address. On my previous phone I successfully uploaded videos using this method. So I tried it on the droid. First problem I had was with the messaging app. I can't figure out how to search my contacts from the To:. If I start typing the contacts come up but it only lists phone numbers.I found that the Contacts has an menu option for Display Options. That's where the Only contacts with phones check box is.still doesn't show up in the messaging app. I even killed it hoping some kind of refresh was needed.nope.no emails. Why doesn't the message app have a contacts menu option. So I go to contacts which now has facebook email in it. I find facebook. I hit edit. I press and hold on the email text box.copy all.then restart messaging and paste the email into the to.that was quite a bit of work.at least now I have a message thread to reuse..cause that was a PITA.I then hit upload and select my video...all my videos of which the longest is 20 seconds (I've always been able to mms up-to-30 seconds on Verizon) error out saying they are two big. btw.my samsung flip phone with windoze 2 would go into a "formatting for messaging" sequence before sending it.So I take a 2 second video attach it and send it off.facebook texts back "Sorry an error occurred processing your video. Please try again in a little while."huge props to anyone who can come up with a way to upload video either 3G or wifi to facebook. I'm going to try USB mounting and upload on the computer but that defeats the whole purpose.huger props to anyone who can figure out why the main facebook site says "Video Uploads Disabled" when I surf from my phone....the conspiracy theory person thinks collusion!

Motorola Droid X :: Getting Error Message To Remove Facebook Account / Fix It?

Oct 12, 2010

OK, I've been on the leaked version 2.3.9 pretty much since it was available and didn't upgrade to the OTA. Recently, I decided to deactivate my Facebook account since I don't really use it anymore. I have always had it listed in my accounts with Google and Twitter, and now I want it removed. Every time I try to remove it from my accounts on my phone, I get an error message. Any ideas why it's getting an error and what I can do to fix it?

The browser opens up pages flawlessly except for the log in part. I purged the cache, cookies and everything but still no luck.

It's on 3G connection. Haven't tested it on a wifi yet.

It seems that the HTTPS sites are causing the problem. Can't log in into Facebook through the browser, neither into www.google.com.

Motorola Droid :: Rooted App - Feature Request

Feb 8, 2010

Just rooted last night....Here's what I'm hoping to be able to do soon. I have a bluetooth parrot visor clip in my car. So far it works pretty well. But my one complaint is that the speaker inside it is only OK. It would be GREAT if the call audio while the phone is plugged into my car's AUX jack could be sent to my car's speakers instead of the bluetooth device, leaving the bluetooth device as a glorified microphone.

Right now, when a call comes in and I'm listening to music through my Droid the audio stops and the call audio is transferred to the parrot kit, as it should. So there is obviously some sort of programming that can be done....

Motorola Droid : ROM Comparison / T-Chart Request

Feb 23, 2010

I hope what I'm asking hasn't been asked, but if so, I'd gladly take a link in the right direction. Is there a comparison chart/ T-chart that compares the various roms out there?Something that compares build (2.01 vs 2.1), features (wireless tether, live wallpapers, etc), speed results, strength/weakness narrative etc. similar to what you'd find on a consumer guide, perhaps in a scope and sequence type of alignment that alludes to release dates?I've heard "go with the rom that best suits your need", but a diagram like the one suggested might help the community.Perhaps a knowledgeable veteran would be interested in such a project? If I'm way off, just tell me to go pound sand.

Motorola Droid :: 160 Character Limit On Texts

Jan 18, 2010

First Android phone and just switched to Verizon. I was sending a text and it was over 160 characters. I sent it and got a message saying that if I am texting a non Verizon customer they will only get the first 160 characters...I've had an iPhone and a Blackberry on ATT and it would split the message up for me and send a couple if it was over 160. Is there no way to do this on the Droid? Do I seriously have to try and squeeze everything into 160 characters like I did when I had the RAZR?
