Sprint HTC Hero :: Get A Picture Message , It Keeps Saying Download Unsuccessful / Fix It?

Feb 22, 2010I had installed a mobile defense guardian? App the other day, forget if that was the exact name and noticed after that. That I wasn't getting picture messages to show up right away anymore, now it seems like they have to send the same picture 2 or 3 times before it will actually download and I can view it. Wondering if there is some known issue or a fix to get it back to normal and working right again. I'm looking at one now and it just says it's downloading, never leaves that, doesn't show a picture.

Jun 1, 2010I am having problems when i recieve a photo in a text message, sometimes it will auto download but then it stops after a couple of days and i just get a message saying download unsuccessful. I have taken it in and had the phone re set but i want to know if there is another way to fix this problem from happening i am tired of loosing every thing or not getting my pics.

Mar 13, 2010I am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

Since rooting, 3 of my apps have had updates.
Super Slot - download unsuccessful
BatteryTime Lite - download unsuccessful
Paper Toss - worked fine
Can someone try to update/download super slot or batterytime lite and see if you can do it successfully?
I doubt it's a market issue, but I wanted to rule that out.
I also installed ad free android earlier. I have since uninstalled it, but is it possible it left the host file on the system and that's blocking the download? Do all apps get downloaded from google or do they actually get downloaded from the developer's site through the market? I'd be surprised if it's the 2nd one, so that's probably not the issue either.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Picture Message With No Thumbnail And Options
Nov 19, 2009So today I got a message from a friend and in the message log it just tells me who it's from, the file size and when it expires. I have an option to download it but it fails every time. I doesn't give me any details that I know of it just says it was unsuccessful. The weird thing is that yesterday I got a pic from the same person and it worked fine, thumbnail and everything. What can I do to get this picture? Or make it work correctly in the future? They say they sent it the same way as the day before.

Mar 21, 2010My wife and I both have HTC Hero's (Sprint) and recently have been having problems sending and receiving pictures in our text (from each other as well as other people) If I send a picture to her, her phone will vibrate and the notification light will blink, but nothing will show up.
Now if I send a second picture the first one will show up on her phone, and if I send a third, the second one shows up and on and on. It happens the same way if she tries to send me a picture. The phones worked fine when we bought them in December. This problem has just started in the last month.

Nov 23, 2009Took update and all is well, however i now notice if i want to attach a pic to my text the app says too big to send. I looked in setting seems there is a 1 meg limit. Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.

Jul 16, 2010My phone was working fine and I had downloaded numerous apps with no problems. All of a sudden, when I tried to download apps, they would just be stuck, saying "downloading..." for days.
When searching for a fix for this problem, I was told to clear the Google Apps Cache & login again to clear the problem. I did this and it did not fix the problem. It actually wouldn't let me connect to the market apps at all anymore. So, I searched for a solution to this new problem. The best option was to do a factory reset...which i did.
After the reset, I could not get the market apps to download. Every time I click install on an app, I get the Download Unsuccessful error...please try again. I searched solutions and tried to set up a new google account per those solutions. This still did not fix the problem. I still cannot download anything.
Now I have a reset phone, with no apps! Very frustrating. It seems like I lost all of my data and made it worse.
HTC Droid Eris :: Gray Download Box When Got A MMS Picture Message From Anyone
Mar 17, 2010Alright...here is the final solution to the Droid Eris picture message issues! My phone was giving me a gray "download" box when I got a MMS picture message from ANYONE. I clicked the button and it does nothing but give me an error message.
I went into Verizon with this problem and they admitted to me that there is a KNOWN problem in the HTC Droid Eris line. The early models of the Eris have a hardware problem. HTC was so focused on getting their 3G data right, that they skipped an essential part of the 1x data where MMS picture messages come through over all networks.
Basically, I asked the Verizon rep why they didn't tell any of us users who purchased the Eris from the earliest models and they told me that it was an HTC error, not theirs. All they can do is replace the phone to one of the newer models. I just had this done, and it works perfectly. They could have easily contacted all users with the Eris and said that HTC had a problem instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own. They could have provided good customer service and decided not to do so!!
This is the only solution and the Verizon rep knew about the problem and was very helpful. I told him that I was going to post this online, telling ALL users who purchased the early models of the Eris (I got mine in late-November) to take it into Verizon and have a replacement ordered.
All of my paid apps transferred, contacts transferred, pictures transferred, etc...just had to set up my scenes again and download my free apps again...not a big deal!
HTC Incredible :: Download Error When Receive Picture Message / Get Rid Of It?
Jul 13, 2010Whenever I get a picture message it says download error. I am able to retrieve the picture but I have to open my message app and see who sent me a message. I am unable to access the message via the notification bar. I am using the stock messaging stop.

Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?

Apr 23, 2010Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

Jul 13, 2010I've had my Hero for about a month now, and ever since, I've had to reset it twice; once because I couldn't receive a call, and the second time because it was stuck on a notification sound and wouldn't change, no matter what.
The problem now is that I cannot send a picture message. I constantly get an error message saying that the 'message format is corrupted'. I've tried to take this issue to my carrier's tech support team only to discover I'm having yet another issue: a few of my contacts get deleted if I try to use HTC Sync to back my contacts list up so that I can preform a master reset.

Apr 15, 2010I have not gotten my picture mail since The 1st of the month.I have gotten like 4 total that have slipped through. I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.

It appears that it only wants to download some applications with most kicking back a "Download Unsuccessful" including some that I have purchased before.
I am running 2.1 -update 1 right out of the box software number 1.19.161.5
I've tried a factory reset with still no avail.
I'm trying to download it using my wireless router which I'm sitting right beside so signal is no problem.
HTC Incredible :: Market - Download Unsuccessful
Sep 10, 2010Running into an issue with one of our corporate HTC Incredibles.
We have other Incredibles without issue so I am thinking this one is defective as I just picked it up yesterday.
When I go to the market to update or install a new app, the download animation shows on the taskbar for a moment then goes away. When I go into the market to check on the downloads, the apps show a black status bar and will not download.
I've rebooted, hard-booted, canceled downloads and tried re-installing the apps. All with the same results. Every app I try to install and every app I try to update (google maps for example) will start then immediately say "Download Unsuccessful"
Android :: App From Market - Download Unsuccessful
Oct 28, 2010I have published my app on Android Market. I have successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on my Moto Droid 10 days ago. My beta tester #1 successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on his Samsung Galaxy 8 days ago. My beta tester #2 gets "download unsuccessful" when she tries to dowload app from Market on her Motorola Droid X at 2010-10-28 4pm Central Std time USA (10pm GMT). She tried several times over a 30 minute period. When I uninstalled and tried to download my app during this same time period, it took longer than I expected, then finished and said Google Maps had "successfully updated". No mention that my app did or did not install. My app is not installed on my phone now.
Developer's Console shows no problem, 20 downloads, 4 active, no errors, no comments. (This app is industry specific and not workable without subscription to a website, etc.)
Does Market work perfectly everytime? Does it have good times and bad times? If you think it may be my app that is the problem, what / where should I look for as the problem?
