I have been having some trouble getting my mobile network sharing to work. I have my mobile network on and its connected to my computer and i have htc sync installed and it starts to connect. It load the adapter to my comp but i get this error code 67 thing and it says that my PCS vision user name or password may be incorrect.

I would like to use my Hero (unlocked, unbranded UK version, 2.73 software on T-Mobile) to access the net when out and about with my MacBook (10.6 SnowLeopard).
Will this work just by connecting a USB cable and enabling mobile betwork sharing, or am I going to need the PDANet app?
(I know I could just try this when I get home, but I'm sure someone else must have tried and can save me the trouble )
I am a HTC MAGIC user that suddently move to SE X10- The problem is.. i cant make it as a modem due to SE X10 does not have the Mobile Network Sharing options. any software can eneble this?

I can't even toggle the mobile network widget.When I go to Settings Wireless, Mobile network is grayed our and it says "Turning on..." below it.I saw in another thread to cycle the network off and on. I have to do this through a long press on the power button, but it doesn't ever connect.Is this a phone issue, or could there be network problems in my area?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it was a settings app (Quick Settings by Sergey) from the android market that caused it, but after uninstalling that app (the only other one i use right now is the lock screen widget - which i just uninstalled), i can't turn the mobile network on. i've tried the airplane mode trick, gone into settings, soft reset, etc. any ideas in the manage applications? i'd rather not do another hard reset (had to for the google account). i called htc and they were useless - with no trouble shooting, they recommended a hard reset and to not download apps! btw, i'm on a non-rooted phone.

But heres the Question: Is there a way to root this hero to unlock the sprint mobile network so that he can text anytime and anywhere the phone is on? Right now he can only do it through wifi.
So I'm guessing you cant talk and go online through the mobile network, I remember reading that in the book and from personal experience. But I remember talking and browsing the web while connected to wifi, but can no longer. Whats up with that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out why HTC Sync would not allow me to use the Mobile Network Sharing (MNS). All morning, I had assumed that my notebook was using the MNS as I was able to access Facebook from the office. Turns out that I was latched onto a secondary WiFi access point without realizing it. So, after installing HTC Sync, all other drivers installed fine, except for the NDIS driver which is needed in order to use MNS. I searched high and low to find a download for the driver, and finally found it.
For those of you who are missing the driver (not sure? Open Device Manager, and see if you have an Android Phone device that is showing up as an error), go to your Program Files folder, look for the HTC folder, and in it, you will find HTC Drivers... that elusive NDIS driver is stored there. Just go to Device Manager, find the Android Phone device, right click, select Update Driver, and get it to find the driver from the folder above. Once the driver is installed, getting online is easy
I'm playing with the Hero and under mobile network settings, mode of operation you have 3 choices, Hybrid, EVDO only and 1X only. Does anyone know what Hybrid is? It's the default selection. Will selecting EVDO only help with battery life?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my Hero from Sprint last week and I love it! But I have one small problem. When my battery drains and the phone shuts itself off (ie powers down). After I charge it up and turn the phone back on I have no service, if I try to go turn my mobile network back on it wont allow me to open the program and it forecloses on itself. The only way I am able to do ANYTHING on the phone or use it is to reset it to factory settings which causes me to lose EVERYTHING!Has anyone had this problem or know of anyway to fix it when this happens?

Your PCS vision username or password may be incorrect. I tried the fix that is on the website for the error code 67 but when I go to setting /about phone/ to the system software update I need web access to update the profile on my phone. So can anyone help me with this problem without havivg to call Sprint?

Each time it tries to get on the internet it says my sprint login/password are bad. Hell I don't even know where to change them on the Hero.

As we all know, we need to toggle the Mobile Network connection off from time to time to save battery power. I am trying to get into Launcher Pro, but the ONLY thing that is keeping me from using it full time is that I can find a mobile network widget that works like the HTC one. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to find a way of quickly switching off/on the Mobile Network setting from the home screen. When searching Google there's loads of pages stating that it is an HTC Widget that can be added. I have checked all the widgets on the Desire HD and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I am using an unbranded handset.
The Desire HD manual even states "You can also add widgets that allow you to quickly switch on or off certain settings of your phone, such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Network...".
Does anyone else with an HD handset have this widget ?
I have been a Blackberry and Windows Mobile user for the last eight years. I am 55% sure that I want to get the Hero but I am not 100% sold. I am also considering the Pre. I know this sounds crazy, but the absolute #1 thing I need is Internet sharing and tethering capability; even more so than a phone itself. I must be able to connect my phone to my laptop, either by usb or bluetooth, and have it working in less than 30 seconds each time. I currently run Ubuntu 9.4 and Windows Vista/XP. My windows mobile phone works with all of these, and quickly.I have searched and searched but have found nothing as to wether the Sprint version is capable of thethering.

One thing I like about Seesmic is its ability to automatically generate a bit.ly short link from a long URL. However, therein lies the problem: if I use the default browser, and select Share Page (URL), I only get four choices: gmail, mail, messages, and Peep. Does anyone know how to add Seesmic to the list of choices?
