I have a HTC Hero with sprint and when I receive picture mail i get a little gray download button but when i click it, it says download unsuccessful. I dont know what im doing wrong.

For the past few days anytime I get a picture message it keeps saying download unsuccessful.. Anybody know how to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having problems when i recieve a photo in a text message, sometimes it will auto download but then it stops after a couple of days and i just get a message saying download unsuccessful. I have taken it in and had the phone re set but i want to know if there is another way to fix this problem from happening i am tired of loosing every thing or not getting my pics.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been receiving MMS messages from friends and family back home and for some reason whenever i click on 'download' it says that the 'download is unsuccessful'... it happens with people that i know that have verizon and droids too.. i tried the native sms app, chompsms, and handcent but they all do the same thing.. is this a known problem? it sucks not being able to recieve picture messages from my friends, and i can't send outgoing ones either (they download unsuccessful)

Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a voice mail, it shows up in the visual voice mail application like it always does. Everything is normal EXCEPT ... When I play the voice mail I hear nothing. The time bar moves as it is playing, but nothing can be heard. This has been happening for the past 3 days. I then have to access my VMs through the traditional "Dial #1" portal. I love visual VM though, and would like to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem might be and/or have had this problem before?
Note: I am not using a task killer, and I don't even have one downloaded on my UNROOTED Hero.
When trying to send picture mail on handcent, once i click to send, it just keeps the screen with the little spinning "loading icon" and never actually sends the image. Anyone have any tips to make it work?

Why would we have to open 2 msg apps to get pic mail.I tried it today and it showed a small picture in Chomp tree view, but it wouldn't let me open it or save it.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwell i got my phone two months ago, after 1 week of having it my picture mail messages were not coming in, they would get the download, then "unsuccesful download." After dealing with Sprint they convinced me it was a problem on 1 in 4 phones and i had to give up my brand new phone for a stupid refurbished phone. It ended up working until now, around 1 1/2 months.This is not a Wifi Issue, i dont have it turned on, and i am aware of that problem. I have 90mb free on my phone, ive cleared all my caches, pulled battery, turned mobile network off and on. Over the last month i have been getting the download button but they would come through. I would then get a picture message from someone i didnt have a conversation open with, then i would open it and the message would dissapear. Well now today none are going through, its extremely frustrating and i dont want to tell my fanboy iPhone friends they have to email me pictures.
The one workaround to go to the website and view them would be fine if i could view them on my phone. I dont want to log into sprint to view NWS pictures at work.I can log on through my phone, but when going to messages nothing shows. up.I know about the wiping the phone, but that is hours of work getting all apps, setting up my custom scenes, adding all bookmarks, adding all my passwords in the password keeper, rooting, adding all my roms and kernels again.THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING.I love this phone except for this simple function it cant perform.
i get the txts with image click download and nothing.sometimes it says its downloaded but i still see nothing.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have not gotten my picture mail since The 1st of the month.I have gotten like 4 total that have slipped through. I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.

That I wasn't getting picture messages to show up right away anymore, now it seems like they have to send the same picture 2 or 3 times before it will actually download and I can view it. Wondering if there is some known issue or a fix to get it back to normal and working right again. I'm looking at one now and it just says it's downloading, never leaves that, doesn't show a picture.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone was working fine and I had downloaded numerous apps with no problems. All of a sudden, when I tried to download apps, they would just be stuck, saying "downloading..." for days.
When searching for a fix for this problem, I was told to clear the Google Apps Cache & login again to clear the problem. I did this and it did not fix the problem. It actually wouldn't let me connect to the market apps at all anymore. So, I searched for a solution to this new problem. The best option was to do a factory reset...which i did.
After the reset, I could not get the market apps to download. Every time I click install on an app, I get the Download Unsuccessful error...please try again. I searched solutions and tried to set up a new google account per those solutions. This still did not fix the problem. I still cannot download anything.
Now I have a reset phone, with no apps! Very frustrating. It seems like I lost all of my data and made it worse.
I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I am wondering if you guys have found a way to send or receive mms on your heroes and what version of android yours is running. Mine is running 1.5 and is the round hero, not the newest one. I also cannot find a place anywhere to send mms. Also, how do I snap a picture of my current screen, or do I need an app for that?

You see something interesting, snap a photo, and quickly send it to a friend.With the Hero, when I select a photo, and try to "Share" it via a "Message", it always says, "Message size limit reached. Sorry, you cannot attach this to your message."I guess this is because the filesize is so large (5 megapixels!)

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. I've had a few people send me some MMS and I have not received them whether I am on WiFi or not. I am using chompSMS as well, and am able to receive SMS just fine.What gives? Any idea why this might be happening and any possible fixes?
