View 1 RepliesAlright...here is the final solution to the Droid Eris picture message issues! My phone was giving me a gray "download" box when I got a MMS picture message from ANYONE. I clicked the button and it does nothing but give me an error message.
I went into Verizon with this problem and they admitted to me that there is a KNOWN problem in the HTC Droid Eris line. The early models of the Eris have a hardware problem. HTC was so focused on getting their 3G data right, that they skipped an essential part of the 1x data where MMS picture messages come through over all networks.
Basically, I asked the Verizon rep why they didn't tell any of us users who purchased the Eris from the earliest models and they told me that it was an HTC error, not theirs. All they can do is replace the phone to one of the newer models. I just had this done, and it works perfectly. They could have easily contacted all users with the Eris and said that HTC had a problem instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own. They could have provided good customer service and decided not to do so!!
This is the only solution and the Verizon rep knew about the problem and was very helpful. I told him that I was going to post this online, telling ALL users who purchased the early models of the Eris (I got mine in late-November) to take it into Verizon and have a replacement ordered.
All of my paid apps transferred, contacts transferred, pictures transferred, etc...just had to set up my scenes again and download my free apps again...not a big deal!
Whenever I get a picture message it says download error. I am able to retrieve the picture but I have to open my message app and see who sent me a message. I am unable to access the message via the notification bar. I am using the stock messaging stop.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days anytime I get a picture message it keeps saying download unsuccessful.. Anybody know how to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had installed a mobile defense guardian? App the other day, forget if that was the exact name and noticed after that. That I wasn't getting picture messages to show up right away anymore, now it seems like they have to send the same picture 2 or 3 times before it will actually download and I can view it. Wondering if there is some known issue or a fix to get it back to normal and working right again. I'm looking at one now and it just says it's downloading, never leaves that, doesn't show a picture.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I did a factory reset and as I went about trying to re-download all of the applications that had been deleted; however, each app. that I have attempted to download keeps popping up with the message 'Download Unsuccessful.' I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem and if so how was it fixed? Also, I have always been gmail
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo on my old phone when I received a message and I hit reply I would have a choice of options, text, pic, vid, etc. On the incredible its only text. The only way I can reply with a picture message, is getting out of the messenger, opening up my album then finding the pic and sending it out that way. Is there a better way to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for about a month now, and ever since, I've had to reset it twice; once because I couldn't receive a call, and the second time because it was stuck on a notification sound and wouldn't change, no matter what.
The problem now is that I cannot send a picture message. I constantly get an error message saying that the 'message format is corrupted'. I've tried to take this issue to my carrier's tech support team only to discover I'm having yet another issue: a few of my contacts get deleted if I try to use HTC Sync to back my contacts list up so that I can preform a master reset.
I've not had my desire long, and don't know much about smartphones. I've been trying to send a picture text but it wont send. My mate is also trying to send me one but it wont download. Have I got to tweak some settings? I have the same problem with email. Wont send either!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know I did this, but for the life of me cannot do it again received text with picture I want to keep.transfer to photo album. I click on the picture in the message/text and it pops up which program to use, default or astro. I try both, astro force closes and default one loads it, but no option to save it, only share. I want it on my phon's photo album./
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently started having an issue when I try to save a picture from a picture message on handcent. I cannot see the picture in my gallery only until I reboot the phone. With the regular droid messaging program, the pictures appear right away. I am not sure if this is an issue since I am now running 2.2 on my droid. Anybody else having the same issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone else had the issue where if you send an MMS it's sent twice? I've only tested by sending to myself so far but each time I get two examples of the same photo, but within the same MMS if you see what I mean i.e. I don't get two separate messages. Very odd and bloody annoying if I'm getting charged 40p each time instead of 20p! (O2)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have received a picture message. I can open the message and the picture, and I want to save the picture to the Album.
I don't seem to see how to do this.
It probably is a stupid question to ask (once again, Nugget = techtarded), but how do I send a picture message? I usually message through Chomp, but I don't see a way to send a picture message.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen ever I get a mms picture text, I get a download failure and then a transient failure only when i'm using wifi. I have to turn wifi off and it still won't download for a while after numerious tries.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI used to snap a pic on my Samsung Sway, was given the option to send in a message, then it resized and off it went. How do I snap a pic and send in a message on my incredible? I have the manual downloaded and printed all 206 pages and still don't understand the resizing.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo today I got a message from a friend and in the message log it just tells me who it's from, the file size and when it expires. I have an option to download it but it fails every time. I doesn't give me any details that I know of it just says it was unsuccessful. The weird thing is that yesterday I got a pic from the same person and it worked fine, thumbnail and everything. What can I do to get this picture? Or make it work correctly in the future? They say they sent it the same way as the day before.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen ever someone sends me a picture message, the picture comes as a video type. When i click on thepic it only stays open for a couple of secs. On the Moto droid the pic would show on the message and if i clicked on it it would stay open. Is tue a way to change this or what?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my incredible yesterday and I am very pleased. I've answered mosy my questions searching, but one thing I cannot solve. I am using handcent messaging which I like due to the "bubbles", but each time I try to send a picture, there is a failure message.
