I purchased Beautiful Widgets on the market but it keeps saying download unsuccessful. My network is working fine. I can download other apps just fine. Is this a problem with the market or what?

I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

I have taken it in and had the phone re set but i want to know if there is another way to fix this problem from happening i am tired of loosing every thing or not getting my pics.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have published my app on Android Market. I have successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on my Moto Droid 10 days ago. My beta tester #1 successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on his Samsung Galaxy 8 days ago. My beta tester #2 gets "download unsuccessful" when she tries to dowload app from Market on her Motorola Droid X at 2010-10-28 4pm Central Std time USA (10pm GMT). She tried several times over a 30 minute period. When I uninstalled and tried to download my app during this same time period, it took longer than I expected, then finished and said Google Maps had "successfully updated". No mention that my app did or did not install. My app is not installed on my phone now.
Developer's Console shows no problem, 20 downloads, 4 active, no errors, no comments. (This app is industry specific and not workable without subscription to a website, etc.)
Does Market work perfectly everytime? Does it have good times and bad times? If you think it may be my app that is the problem, what / where should I look for as the problem?
I wiped out my phone and re rooted it, and when downloading all my apps two of them wont download and/or install rather I get this "install Unsuccessful" then I reboot my phone and got this now about 20 times "Download Unsuccessful" one app I dont care but its doing this to my app I bought called

It appears that it only wants to download some applications with most kicking back a "Download Unsuccessful" including some that I have purchased before.
I am running 2.1 -update 1 right out of the box software number 1.19.161.5
I've tried a factory reset with still no avail.
I'm trying to download it using my wireless router which I'm sitting right beside so signal is no problem.
Running into an issue with one of our corporate HTC Incredibles.
We have other Incredibles without issue so I am thinking this one is defective as I just picked it up yesterday.
When I go to the market to update or install a new app, the download animation shows on the taskbar for a moment then goes away. When I go into the market to check on the downloads, the apps show a black status bar and will not download.
I've rebooted, hard-booted, canceled downloads and tried re-installing the apps. All with the same results. Every app I try to install and every app I try to update (google maps for example) will start then immediately say "Download Unsuccessful"

So over the past few days the apps ive tried to download dont even start to download, I then turn my phone off and back on again and they start to download, then start to install, but just as i think its done i get a notification saying ''Installation unsuccessful''.
I have 14MB of phone memory left so ive constantly got the low on space icon in the notification bar but i have ample space for the certain apps i wish to download. Have i without realising fiddled with a certain setting or something?

Since rooting, 3 of my apps have had updates.
Super Slot - download unsuccessful
BatteryTime Lite - download unsuccessful
Paper Toss - worked fine
Can someone try to update/download super slot or batterytime lite and see if you can do it successfully?
I doubt it's a market issue, but I wanted to rule that out.
I also installed ad free android earlier. I have since uninstalled it, but is it possible it left the host file on the system and that's blocking the download? Do all apps get downloaded from google or do they actually get downloaded from the developer's site through the market? I'd be surprised if it's the 2nd one, so that's probably not the issue either.
I just loaded BH Man's Galaxy 1.6 Rom unto my phone because i liked the way it looked and it really moved fast. But then when i went to the market to re-download my apps so i could have it working again app after app i get the download unsuccessful error, anyone know what could be causing this, i'm seriously about to drop this phone out of my window on the 8th floor of my apt complex and say to hell with it. The symptoms on the phone seem to be that everything works fine when I first reset it ... and then after a re-boot I just get the Fin "Download Unsuccessful" from the app store over and over. Anyway, I'm just getting "download unsuccessful" every time I try to get an app.
The main bit of advice is to clear the caches, or delete the data, from a few things. I've done this, except for "Google Apps", because the delete data button isn't there.
I've also had it suggested that it's changing from one sort of google account to another. I've had gmail for years and years (since the early days of its beta) and have never changed it, or any settings related to it.
Ok the market seems to be working except it won't let me download anything. It keeps saying download was unsuccessful. Does any body else have this issue. It worked at first when I first upgraded to froyo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone was working fine and I had downloaded numerous apps with no problems. All of a sudden, when I tried to download apps, they would just be stuck, saying "downloading..." for days.
When searching for a fix for this problem, I was told to clear the Google Apps Cache & login again to clear the problem. I did this and it did not fix the problem. It actually wouldn't let me connect to the market apps at all anymore. So, I searched for a solution to this new problem. The best option was to do a factory reset...which i did.
After the reset, I could not get the market apps to download. Every time I click install on an app, I get the Download Unsuccessful error...please try again. I searched solutions and tried to set up a new google account per those solutions. This still did not fix the problem. I still cannot download anything.
Now I have a reset phone, with no apps! Very frustrating. It seems like I lost all of my data and made it worse.
Not a problem with the actual app, I just can't download it! It goes from authorizing cc to installing app, then maybe 1.5 seconds later says download unsuccessful. Want to use it in sweeter home already!

View 9 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to download an app it goes to download and I see the download bar but upon checking notifications find Download Unsuccessful waiting for me. To top it off my apps have updates avail that will not load either.
I never rooted the phone and had no problems up till now Yes I turned off power and removed the battery to reset..
I cant download any Apps or Games from the Market anymore... after each try ....on the notification bar...it says : "Download was unsuccessful, please try again"
Whether i try again and again...it makes no sense....this problem happens once already...and i just reset to factory settings losing all the apps i already download...!
