I just rooted my Hero to CM6 and I went to download the GApps zip file but every link I've found has been dead. Is there a working link elsewhere? If not, could someone be kind and send me the file?

I see this on my desire more than anything else. It happens all the time and it does not seem to be linked to any specific application. I have searched but can not find anything that helps.
My phone only started doing it after rooting. Any ideas?
i've tried out all the radios to test out which is the best for me..and i devided on the one that was based off the verizon radio..so i got an error message saying "You must be a Sprint Customer to use this feature" so i changed to the newest radio out 2.42.01.04.27 and i still get the same issue..what could it be?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my phone xperia mini pro SK17i 's software from GB to ICS 4.0.4 and rooted my phone. After rooting i installed Titanium backup and remove a few what i thought were unnecessary apps from my phone . I think i also deleted the google.download.manager.apk i'm not sure but i cannot see this service in my "ALL APPS" (APP Manager) Its not at the bottom or disabled its just not there.
Since then i keep getting gapps stopped working and Google play stopped working .
i have tried
1. Rebooting (multiple times)
2. Clearing cache/clearing data for Play
3. un-installing /Re Install play
4. Download goomanager and downloading latest gapps packed and flashed the zip
5. Delete gmail account and restart and add account again.
Also i don't think there is prob in Google sync...
and checked out all the sites and forums for solution ... i still haven't gotten any solution to this.
i saw in a few places about QtADB and new ROM..but i have abs no clue about what it is or how to go about it

I have downloaded a new download manager for now. But was wondering if i can get back Google download manager without have to to do a factory reset.
I switched to Sprint yesterday from ATT and bought a Hero along with my dad. They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours. its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?

Links don't work and text is not selectable on many emails, including emails from this site.
The fact that links don't work render the app pretty much useless as an email client!

Does anyone else have this error popping up every so often. "com.google.process.gapps has stopped working" force quit. I have found no solution for the Motorola Droid.

I deleted the acct to try and do it all over again only now it's not verifying my username/password or it says can not connect to server. My internet on the phone is working and my wifi is working, but not the email.

Description:
An issue has been identified where the Hero by HTC may enter a state where the device is unable to receive SMS and cannot be resolved thru standard troubleshooting up to and including a Hard Reset, ##786, and software reflash.
Action: Policy Exchange
When the device runs out of available memory a system flag is set indicating that there is no memory available to receive incoming messages. The device requests a retry, and the network will continue resending for 72 hours. Currently there is no field accessible method available to bring a device out of this state, however HTC is working to develop both a short and long term solution that will be communicated when available.
The best method of prevention currently is to ensure adequate memory is available on the device to prevent the flag from being set.
If the this issue is encountered, follow the steps below:
Back up all customer data from the device.
Power the device off.
Hold the Home and Back buttons then press the End/Power button.
Follow the on screen prompt to clear all user data.
One the reset is complete, test the ability for the device to receive SMS. This can be done by sending a test message then confirming it has been received via the SMS network tool (Intercarrier/Metcalf/ICSMS).
If the issue persists, exchange the device and return the unit via the EFFA process until this article is updated with a solution.
We are investigating an additional issue that may cause devices to intermittantly receive an SMS but not display the message to the user. This issue is distinguished from the above in that it is resolved by a soft or hard reset. No exchange is neccesary for the intermittant unable to receive SMS issue, we will post an additional KI when a solution is available.
I am just playing around with my phone lately, trying to see what it can do. I have my MSL number (the guy at Best Buy gave it to me.) and I know it's correct because i put in ##123456# (##MSL#) and it went to the "Edit/View" options. When I try to edit, however, it asks me for a password, and I assumed it was my MSL, so i put in 123456 but it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had the Sprint Hero since it was released and have weathered the common bugs (battery, apps losing their names/logos and not working after restarting the phone, etc) I have a new one now that I cant seem to fix. GPS was working fine in all my applications (google maps, Nav, Sherpa, Layar etc). I leave GPS on as it is only ever used when an app requires your location. Now with GPS on if I run google maps or any other application the little GPS icon shows up in the header but after 30 seconds or so the application says your location cannot be found. I have tried numerous time inside and out and nothing. I can turn on network location and get the cell tower triangulation of my location but thats not true GPS. I have not soft or hard reset but afraid im going to have to.....how does that work? Assuming hard i lose everything....do i keep my apps and home screens with a soft reset?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been trying for hours now to get my HTC Hero phone upgraded to 2.1, but am still having problems. After fixing my HTC Sync issue, now I have the RUU Setup (2.1 Executable to upgrade) to deal with.
I try to open the executable file, both normally and as administrator, but all it would give me is a loading screen for about four seconds. The loading bar would go to the end, and then close down. The wizard does not pop up at all. Can I get any help with this? It's been four hours since I've tried doing this.

I have a Sprint Hero, and I flashed the newest cyanogenmod (6.0 froyo) rom.but my voicemail does not work properly.I just get a text message saying the person has sent me a Voice SMS, but then I cannot retrieve it. Anything I can do, or is this a quirk with the rom?
