View 2 Replies View RelatedIm not getting the "superuser permission" app in my app tray even after all the steps and it even says "unrevoked" in the command prompt as well. im running on build number 2.27.651.5, anyone?
View 2 Replies View Relatedsuperuser permissions not working. i've already wiped and reflashed fresh 2.1.1. when i try to open superuser permissions all i see is a black screen. also when i use htc sense, it seems to suck up battery really fast but it runs smooth. but when i switch to the nexus launcher it takes a while to load up all the icons on the main screen. i've tried to search but it seems like the search is not accurate in hunting down the threads for me because when i try to create this thread, i see more similar threads than just simply searching for it through the top right search box.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI updated my HTC hero into the official 2.0 (?) update and i just wanted to use some custom rom when i noticed i couldn't get into the screen where you can do nan backups and flash zips. So i'm not rooted anymore. Now i tried rooting my phone again with Root your HTC Hero CDMA Stock Android 2.1 | Gadgets DNA.That link and i was going pretty good till the superuser permission part. I didn't received it on my HTC Hero and I tried doing it over again and over again and it just doesn't come in my app list.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sorry if this has been answered but I couldn't find it specifically.I recently rooted my Eris to 2.1 (using GrdLock's guide) and have trouble accessing superuser permission. The program labeled this opens to a blank screen and force closes, and when I tried to download a widget to overclock my processor, it could not work because it was unable to access the superuser permission.I thought that this came standard with rooting, so is there something I did wrong? Also, occasionally I have been unable to place or recieve a call. The call timer runs as if I'm on the line, but I can't hear anything at all. I usually have to turn off/on my phone to fix it, but was wondering if this was another problem associating with the rooting or superuser permission.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Hero on the Sprint network and I'm currently trying to root it. I follow the instructions according to this guide. Root your HTC Hero CDMA Stock Android 2.1 | Gadgets DNA. and i get to step 9 and enter what I am supposed to. The problem is that when I go to my app tray there is not application for Superuser permissions... I have pushed all the indicated files to my sdcard and nothing.

View 22 Replies View RelatedMy Sprint HTC hero is rooted running Fresh 2.1.2 and whenever I open superuser or try to run an app that requires root I just get a black screen that says (Su Request) at the top and it just stays their and does nothing. Any takers on how to actually launch the program that requires root or what to do with this screen?

I installed the Sprint 2.1 leak RUU and then rooted. Probably backwards, but everything has been working great for the past few days regardless. My problem is when I try to use something like Titanium Backup. I get a message saying that "busybox works but the "su" command does not elevate to root" It goes on to say my superuser whitelist system app does not work. I tried to install the superuser whitelist app from the market but it said it was incompatible with my phone. What can I do now to get Superuser privileges?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo for the past year I have been using a blackberry bold 9700. At the time when I bought the phone, AT&T didn't have any really appealing android offers. Anyway, the captivate came out, and it seemed like finally there was a good, high end android phone for my carrier, despite AT&T's usual bloatware BS. So I went onto craigslist and found some dude who was willing to sell his captivate for 200 bucks + my bold 9700 (side question, was that an OK deal? I feel like a little less money would have been fair). So we met traded, I'm finally on android, I love the phone, but there is one problem. There is an application on the phone called superuser permissions that I can't delete.I found out it's a program used for rooting.Even though I plan to root my phone eventually, I don't want to root it yet (I'll wait until froyo is released for my phone), and I would rather just root it myself and know what I did to my phone, if that makes any sense.
To make matters a little trickier, I use a mac. I can transfer files between my phone and my computer by going into usb debugging, but the samsung only has drivers that work with Windows... I don't know if that's a problem or not but I just thought I'd mention it.
I typed in "adb push recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img /sdcard" for the root process and it says permission denied?
Here is the scenario:
Motorola Droid - Original
1. Rooted 2.1, then
2. OTA Stock Update to 2.2, then
3. Seem to have lost root, However - I still have the Superuser Permissions Icon.
I use Barnacle for WiFi Tether - I get a "Permission Denied" error when I try to start the application. I also went into the terminal emulator and tried an "su" which also gave a permission denied response. I tried "sudo" and also got permission denied response. Others have told me this is common with this progression of events. However, How do I now ROOT 2.2 in this scenario?
i've tried out all the radios to test out which is the best for me..and i devided on the one that was based off the verizon radio..so i got an error message saying "You must be a Sprint Customer to use this feature" so i changed to the newest radio out 2.42.01.04.27 and i still get the same issue..what could it be?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have the app "Superuser Permissions" BUT I don't see it in the Market as even existing. Also, I have been more seeing people mentioning "Superuser" app recently - like OMJ. Well, when you search "Superuser Permissions" in the Market they show the app "Superuser" and not "Superuser Permissions".. what's up with that? So, I tried to download "Superuser", but I get a Failed Installation app.
View 40 Replies View RelatedI switched to Sprint yesterday from ATT and bought a Hero along with my dad. They activated the phones for us and than told us that it should only be 30 minutes before our phones were on but could take up to 24 hours. its been about 15-16 hours and was wondering if it takes everyone this long?

I didn't have anything to do with this, and I didn't find this link, I just posted it from my old thread about the overclock widget (thanks to whoever found this). I figured that people who don't check xda regularly (like myself) might want a heads up, so here you go.
After weeks of trying to get my service to run on boot & an interval via AlarmManager I finally found out the problem. If my workspace is for sdk 1.5, the service never run once. If my workspace is for sdk 1.0, Using the 1.0 Emulator, Not the 1.5 Emulator, it works perfectly. Why is it only working on the old SDK? Is there an additional permission I need?
