Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Way To Stop Receiving Multiple Sms / Notifications?

I've had my X10 mini pro for about a month and now I can't stand some of the "features" anymore. First, I thought people where crazy, sending me the same sms two or three times in a row. But now I've realized that they aren't, it's just my phone that receives them over and over again. It is the same thing with notifications. If I set a reminder in the calendar, the reminder pops up in my notification bar sometimes five or six times before I get to angry and delete the whole event from the calendar. Is these problems specific to me or do anyone else recognize them?

I want to stop receiving email through my messages. I have deleted all of my email accounts but I am still receiving the email notifications through my messages!

I signed up for this forum last night and ever since my in box has been clogged up with message notifications. How do I turn them off? I went to "Your Stuff" "Preferences" and anticked all the notifications and pressed save but I get an error message when I try to save my preferences. THEY WON'T TURN OFF!

My phone starting locking yesterday and on pressing the home putting brings up the message reactivating phone & brings up the Sony Ericsson start up screen. Then shoes "Emergency Nos Only". It won't receive texts but I am able to send them. Calls appear to be working ok other than I had a couple of missed calls yesterday which apparently rang once and then said phone is switched off. I have done a reset but it's still the same. I've also had a problem with apps appearing on the home screen without me putting them there - I had four digital clocks on it yesterday. Is this a software problem?

I am having a difficulty getting texts on my x10. It is branded orange but is unlocked and "working" on three UK. I can surf the net on it (I added a APN) and send and receive calls again just not getting any texts. At one point I did and it was when 3 told me to reboot the phone to finish the process and after reboot hey presto! I can send texts on three and other SIMs work fine. Can't receive calls either, when you phone it is says the number is not recognized.

i have the x10 on orange and have been experiencing problems receiving (or not as the case maybe) sms, it can take hours for a txt to come through and then usually half a dozen arrive at the same time, anybody else had a problem with this? and does anyone know what causes it and what i can do to fix it?

I have a question. The phone is set to vibrate when receiving SMS messages in the Messaging options. I only receive the audio notification and no vibration. I have also tried it with the program SMSPopup and its the same thing. I downloaded another one, SMSMorse, and it vibrates with this one, vibrating in mores code the message or the sender's name. The problem is that the mores code is long and it wastes the battery. I have sent a complaint to SE and they told me to take out the battery so it resets but no lock. The next thing they told me is to do a factory reset but I don't want to lose all of my settings and everything.

Got a X10 Mini last week and love it to bits.How the heck does one send a contact as a business card? Also does not seem to receive any business cards sent to the phone from other phones. Please don't tell me that it can't do this.Another question: How does one send a text message (sms) to multiple recipients?And a last one: It appears that it does not keep any record of sent text messages, so one cannot go back and check which messages one sent - ridiculous!

I'm facing a problem with my new Xperia X10 Mini pro. I CAN'T SEND/RECEIVE FILES VIA BLUETOOTH.
I can pair my phone to another phones but it's impossible to establish a connection and send files via Bluetooth.

Im currently using Handcent SMS for my texts but just one thing that bugs me, is there any way of disabling receiving 2 texts when you receive one, what I mean is one goes into Handcent SMS and the other goes into the normal SMS inbox??? Is there a way to stop this??

I got the phone last week and very disappointed with low sound volume but seems I am not alone....anyway that's not my question.I am interested in how much my 3G connection is active and how much data my phone is receiving/sending. I installed the 3G Watchdog app and for example this morning with browsing BBC website with NO downloads etc it is showing 4.76MB data alone (3.96MB received and 838KB transmitted). My 3G connection is almost always flashing with the arrows showing data transfer but what is it?!
Facebook has all updates off
Email is synced hourly
Moxier calendar daily
I seem to have a "background" data transfer of 3MB/day and this is without any browsing etc...what is going on?!

Hey..not a real problem, but since my 2.1 upgrade when I receive a text message my notification rings twice for one message. Anyone else get this? It's just weird behavior...nothing I can't live with.

I have uninstalled all my sms messaging apps except for the default HTC messaging app. Every time I receive a text message, I get 2 audio notifications, and there are two icons on the notification bar. When I pull it down, one of the notifications sends me directly to the message, and extinguishes one of the icons. The other icon simply says "you have an unread message", and when I click on it nothing happens, and the icon never goes away (unless you hit clear) on the notification pull down menu.It seems to me like I have two messaging programs installed, but I have gone over the list of apps for an hour and can't seem to find it.If it helps, the icon looks like a postcard, with a vertical line down the middle., black and white.

I have a no-brand (full price, 499 €) X10 bought in Italy as soon as released on the market. I still have the old R1FA014 firmware, and both SEUS and the OTA application say that I already have the most recent firmware. However the rest of the world had R1FA016 and now some operator-branded phones are receiving R2BA020 firmware. How it is possible that branded phones are receiving the update before full price unbranded phones? I'm so dissatisfied with Sony Ericsson. I always had Ericsson phones, but now I'm really disappointed.

Since 2.2 upgrade if I do not open or delete any email in my in box I keep receiving new notifications on every refresh. Prior to upgrade one an email was downloaded from the pop3 server there would be no subsequent notifications. What can I do.

I've looked pretty hard to find an answer to this but only found things about sending multiple page texts, not receiving. As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?

I've come across an interesting issue and thought I'd run it by the forum. I did a search before posting and didn't see anything about this. I'm going through my phone trying to free up some space. I use Uninstaller Pro to delete apps. Today I noticed that Google Maps is listed four times in Uninstaller Pro. Each one has the same version number and the same download date. I don't want to uninstall the program completely, but if it has somehow installed itself three extra times, I'd like to remove the copies. Root Explorer only lists the .apk one time Has anyone else had this problem or know of a reason why there would be four copies of Google Maps listed?

How do I send multiple SMS to my contacts on Xperia X10? First of all it doesn't give a dropdown list of my contacts So I manually input by selecting the first letter of my contacts names. Only limits it to several, i'd say about 10/12 people. Then when I send the message, in the notification I get a message saying sms failed. Only 2 people seem to recieve the actual SMS. This is really frustrating.

xperia x10, how can I easily view all contacts to send the same sms to with out typing in the first 2 letters of there name, just want a drop down list because sometimes I can't remeber everybodys name that I want to send the message to because sometimes its 30 people and that would be a slow way of doing typing the first 2 letters, is this at all possible, last phone had drop down box and you just scrolled through and ticked which ones

I have just got the x10 mini. i have set my hotmail account up on the email function and have gone into settings and set up to get notifications of new emails coming through. the problem i am having is that i only get the notifications when i physically go into the email function and refresh- which completely defeats the point of the function. Has anyone else had this problem, or have i not set it up correctly?
