View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 mini pro for about a month and now I can't stand some of the "features" anymore. First, I thought people where crazy, sending me the same sms two or three times in a row. But now I've realized that they aren't, it's just my phone that receives them over and over again. It is the same thing with notifications. If I set a reminder in the calendar, the reminder pops up in my notification bar sometimes five or six times before I get to angry and delete the whole event from the calendar. Is these problems specific to me or do anyone else recognize them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, ever since I upgraded my HTC Hero to the latest Rom today, I have received two message tones and notifications for every text message I receive. I don't know why this has started happening as no new apps have been installed apart from those that were erased during the upgrade.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep receiving a message from one of two numbers that i don't know. They always say KEEP THIS MESSAGE and then gives a IMEI number which is always the same. I don't want to reply to it and i just delete it but it is getting annoying now. Have installed Lookout but says my phone is clean.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen receiving a call, there is a recorded voice that says "Call from xxxxx". How do you turn that off. It seems that it started with 2.2, but I'm not sure.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks when I get a text message or email I get the regular notification but also another/different "icon" for the same message; so I end up with two icons in my notification bar. And the only way the "new" icon can be cleared from my notification bar is if I physically pull down the bar and press clear (even if I've read the message it stays there until I clear it). It's starting to drive me crazy...my ringtone even goes off twice. Anyone have an idea on why this is happening? I don't have any third party message apps installed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone have a workaround for this yet, sorry if it was already posted in a diffrent thread.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed Handcent and so far Im loving it. Way better texting app then what comes stock from HTC. However I do have a question. How do I stop the HTC app from popping up with text message notifications? Right now I get both the HTC and the Handcent notification at the same time when a text comes through.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
every time I make a call, receive a call, turn the phone off, turn the phone on, loose service or gain service, a voice says "Verizon Wireless". This is very annoying and I can't seem to figure out how to turn it off. Changing ring tones and such does not work, still says "Verizon Wireless". Is there anyway to turn this off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that I'm not receiving notifications that apps I've downloaded from the Android Market have available updates. The user manual shows a little icon of an Android shopping bag in the 'Status Bar - Notification Icons' section (page 7), so I think something's wrong. For example, just today I went into the Android Market to download a new app and upon checking 'My Downloads', I noticed seven apps that had updates available. At least four of these apps had been opened and used within the last hour, and still nothing was mentioned about the update. Is anyone else noticing the same?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI finally tried handcent, and like it very much. One problem, I did everything I supposed to do to disable the stock sms. I still get double notifications.Open stock sms, hit menu, hit setting, uncheck auto retrieve, uncheck received notification. What else do i have to do?By the way, I'm having the EVO.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI am running on the HTC EVO and as soon as I got my phone I set up my Gmail account through the automatic setup process. I used android market to get the Gmail widget (the one where the icon has the message coming out of the envelope and it looks like a red 'M'). That was working fine and I was getting my e-mails without any problems. The other day, I was tinkering with settings and I set up the HTC Mail widget, which I (stupidly) linked to the same Gmail account. I started to receive double notifications for my e-mails. I quickly realized I preferred the Gmail widget I was using previously, so I removed my account from the HTC Mail widget. So, my problem is that I no longer receive any notifications from the original Gmail widget when I get new e-mails. In fact, I no longer receive any notifications when I get e-mails. I have gone through all the settings I could find and all notifications are set to update automatically and alert me. The only thing I have not yet done is the account reset because this says I will have to reset my phone to factory settings and I don't want to lose everything I have on it at this point.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed Handcent SMS on my Desire and now find I get two notifications when SMSs arrived. The first from the phone's standard message app and another from Handcent. Does anyone know how to turn off the notification for the phone's app?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am an end android user. I have Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500. A few days back I downloaded the Handcent SMS app. I am happy with the app. But I was receiving notifications both from my native app and Handcent SMS. In order to stop the notification I used Advanced Task Manager to remove the native SMS app in the name of 'SMS' instead of the disabling the notification. Instead of removing the messaging service my data usage notification SMS from my service provider has stopped. I am receiving other messages and able to send messages. I have flashed my ROM but the 'SMS' app is still not installed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, I do not receive a notification for an incoming MMS message in Hangouts. I receive notifications for SMS messages perfectly fine, but not MMS. When I open the app, I will see MMS messages download, but I never receive a notification.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy Express that has recently decided to no longer show me when I receive notifications from apps. This includes any app I have downloaded: gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.
I have tried checking the notification settings both within the apps themselves and in my phone settings.
I have uninstalled all my sms messaging apps except for the default HTC messaging app. Every time I receive a text message, I get 2 audio notifications, and there are two icons on the notification bar. When I pull it down, one of the notifications sends me directly to the message, and extinguishes one of the icons. The other icon simply says "you have an unread message", and when I click on it nothing happens, and the icon never goes away (unless you hit clear) on the notification pull down menu.It seems to me like I have two messaging programs installed, but I have gone over the list of apps for an hour and can't seem to find it.If it helps, the icon looks like a postcard, with a vertical line down the middle., black and white.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason on my Nexus Galaxy I get SMS notifications just fine for everyone, except my wife.
I have done the following things that I have seen in other threads but none of them seem to have worked
1. Checked to ensure notifications were on
2. Installed handcent and made it my default SMS client (got notification of SMS from my wife)
3. Uninstalled handcent and reverted to the stock SMS app (did not receive notification from my wife)
4. Installed Textra and made it my default SMS client (got notification of SMS from my wife)
5. Uninstalled Textra and reverted to the stock SMS app (did not receive notification from my wife)
6. Disable Messaging App
7. Rebooted Phone
8. Re-enable Messaging App
When I first setup my Incredible, I signed on to Gmail. Whenever I receive an e-mail, I get two, one Gmail and one HTC. I dragged the HTC mail widget to the recycle bin. Than I went to manage applications and forced stop the HTC mail. This works until I power off the phone. Each time I boot it back up, I need to go to applications and choose forced stop. It is a small pain but still a pain. One is this happening to anyone else and second does anyone have a solution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Handcent installed on my Samsung Galaxy Spica running cupcake. I have set it to be the default SMS app. However when I receive an SMS, I see two notifications 1 for Handcent and 1 for the native SMS app. I have looked into all settings but am not able to fix this issue.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs it just me, or has anyone else out there suddenly stopped receiving email notification? I don't think I have changed anything, and I've not added a task killer. I have always received email notification before. I have notification allowed in gmail, email, and k9, and still no notification: I have to go into the application and do a manual refresh. I use a "@googlemail.com ". account on orange UK.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a C++ application for the android that needs to talk with a server whenever there is an internet connection available. If the internet connection is cut-off the application needs to "sleep" in order to reduce the battery consumption. If the internet connection is back the application should "awake". I'm searching for any kind of event notification available for C++. I don't want to use pooling. I know that in java we receive these notifications from the connectivity service. Can we trap them natively?
