I'm looking to get a vibrant soon but I was wondering if the phone tells you if your text didn't send or not.
If any of you came from a BB9700, the text message would have a "D" next to it if it was delivered or a red X if it wasn't delivered.

But I'd like to know what people are using and if its working good, the one thing I don't like about this phone is that, I know I can just use the side button to light it up to see, but I miss by led light off the Cliq.
How do I get the number noficiation like on some apps such as in this picture.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently my phone will randomly start sending and receiving data constantly, even though no apps are open or being used. This causes my phone to get very warm and the battery to lose about 1% per minute. In order to get it to stop I have to reboot. I can't figure out what is causing this issue. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I found that I was only able to set it as the alert for one of my email accounts. If I try to set it up for the other one, it won't take. Like it's only allowed to be used for one or something. I wonder if I can use the same sound but name it differently maybe it will let me choose it...
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk i promised I searched and didn't find a resolution to my question... Got my Vibrate on launch day. Love 95% of the phone. In a perfect world I would tweak a few things but by and large I am happy. HOWEVER after this most recent patch my battery full notification now also plays my notification sound. I.E. The very loud MP3 I have to wake me up in case I get a text in the middle of the night, now is going off at 3am to say "HEY battery is charged!!" Personally I would like to get rid of the battery notification all together, but I can work around everything but it playing that MP3. I know I can silence the phone but I WANT to know if I receive a text in the middle of the night. If it isn't possible to disable this alert I will simply not charge my phone at night so I really don't need alternative ideas, just to know if it is possible AND to provide feed back to someone this is less than an optimal situation if not.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got the aforementioned phone, installed some apps, rooted the thing, but it appears that the pull down notification bar at the top is locked, and won't respond to anything. This is pretty annoying, as you can imagine. I'm probably missing something obvious here, but does anyone know how I can unlock it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm curious on this one. On my old Voyager I was able to get delivery reports with a check mark in my sent items folder, so I knew if my tm went through. Today I was told that someone was not getting my texts, which was a problem on there end, since I was able to send and receive to others without issue. So I was curious, and found a setting in the stock messaging app to enable delivery reports. It works, however it just displays a little envelope with a green exclamation point in it.
This is cool and all, however I get that same icon for both successful deliveries and to ones that show up as "Pending" when I view the report. So I was wondering if this is normal for Android phones, or if there is an app I can use to get a better icon/report for delivered texts.
I know if you long press the message in question you can press (view report) (not view detail) which can indicate MESSAGE PENDING. But the Icon has an green EXCLAMATION MARK in the envelope icon just as all the delivered messages do. I'm guess the Incredible Text message only indicates and verifies the message was sent by your (Incredible) phone, whether it was delivered has to be verified by long pressing the message itself and read the option VIEW REPORT. Does anyone know of a way to overcome this SMALL but very important dilemma.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI came across this in the marketplace. It basically lights up your screen on and off when you have a missed call or text. You have to option to set the frequency your screen flashes to notify you (every 5, 10 seconds, etc) and for how long this goes on (1 hour, 2 hours, etc) Gonna try it out. Not sure if it's a battery drainer or not, just trying it out myself.

What I'd like to do is completely disable any notifications showing that the charge is complete. Reason being, I use Bedside and at roughly 2am the notification closes bedside and lights my screen up until I acknowledge it. Then I have to close it, re-open bedside and I'm back in business. Anybody know a way to just turn that notification off all together?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a particular problem with the Desire in the format of the delivery report for the messages. It only says 'received', or sometimes 'pending'. I have done some tests, and the pending status does not change when it's actually delivered, and sometimes it will say 'received' when the phone the message is being sent to is switched off.
I used this function (on my trusty old Sony C905) to send messages to phones when they were off, the delivery report would come in with the date and time that the phone was switched on and the message delivered.
Is there an app that I can download to do better management of message tracking? Hopefully the same app that will let me see arabic characters as mentioned in my other query.
I have these text messages of my grandson sent by my daughter. I want to place them in my gallery, but cannot not find where they are located. can see them atached to the message but cannot seem to do anything with them. Where do I look?

1.home scrween drag upwards
2.find tap settings > sony erricson > messaging
3.tap delivery report to turn on / off delivery report
With new software the is no messaging pick under sony erricson How do i know the feature is oFF ? ..i don't need it and it costs money !! ALSO why isn't there a new user guide for the new sortware ?
I'm eying the Vibrant as my first Android phone (yep, starting at the top), coming from a long line of Palm OS devices culminating with a Treo 680. So far I like most of what I see, with two caveats: The lack of camera flash (I've not had one before, but with a 5 MP camera it seems a waste to not have one) and the lack of a physical keyboard.
I've yet to meet an on-screen keyboard I liked, but I've not tried a 4" screen before. Any first impressions, especially from people used to physical keyboards? Good, bad, ugly? Honestly that's the main thing I'm worried about.
Anyone have troubles sending video texts? On my Iphone I can record like 60 seconds and MMS it to people. I cant get it work at all on my Vibrant

Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.
Is there a way to get a pop up notification for a text? Or something like on the iPhone where it notifies you that you still have unread msgs on the app itself? My problem is I clear the Notification bar and don't realize i have a text and then never see them.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.
