I came across this in the marketplace. It basically lights up your screen on and off when you have a missed call or text. You have to option to set the frequency your screen flashes to notify you (every 5, 10 seconds, etc) and for how long this goes on (1 hour, 2 hours, etc) Gonna try it out. Not sure if it's a battery drainer or not, just trying it out myself.

I often keep my phone on silent so I don't always notice texts. My old phone had the LED light to notify me, and before that I had an iPhone which would flash the display with a notice about the missed text/call.
I'm aware of NoLED, but I tried it and wasn't a fan, the icons are annoying. Plus it seems like it would take up battery.
Whenever I have a missed call lately my screen display light stays on when my phone is locked and it drains my battery. How did I fix this?

Ideally, if I miss a call and/or text, I would like to be reminded every n minutes either by vibrate or by ringtone (whichever's activated) until I acknowledge the missed call/text.
I don't know how people live without this. I've had a Nkia for 18 months and I got tired of having to look at the screen of the phone every time I finished taking a walk(could never feel vibrates while walking) taking a shower (they're not waterproof yet), etc.
I like would like to have a clock/weather app, shortcuts to phone, camera, and messaging, battery indicator, and notifications for missed calls and texts. Another big thing for me is the ability to turn off wifi/noise/and screen brightness from the lockscreen

The little notification Icon at the top of the screen in the status bar is way to small and gets lost among all the other notifications. The widget needs to open the application too.Similar to how the iPhone works.Tried "missed" doesn't work how i wanted it to. Also using launcher pro plus 5*7.
My only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.

Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.
Got my phone and and never realized there were no LED notification lights lol. did some surfing and found NoLED in the market but low and behold I cant seem to get it to work. Anyone else try it or find another app?

My problem is that my wife mainly, or ppl will call or text me and i will not recieve ANY notification of a missed call or text. Usually with my old phone "samsung eternity" i would recieve a missed call or text later once my phone got reception again. Any one else having this problem and also any fixes? My only idea is my task killer might be messing up with it. But i've ignored anything that has to do with text or calls.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that on the homescreen when the phone was locked that a missed call and voicemail notification appeared as pieces removed from a jigsaw overlay of the background homescreen image. Hadn't seen that before. Is that a default thing or can I change it (did look rather cool though). I usually use the pattern lock rather than the default swipe lock, so I'm wondering if it's to do with that default setting.

The screen doesnt light up and no options for receiving calls. This happened before I installed Google voice. I disabled Google voice and still no joy. Everything else works. View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got my refurbished Captivate in the mail today, charged and activated it as per the instructions. It worked just fine for about 30 minutes or so. I put on a few apps and showed them off to my roommate, and things were going fine. Then all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive phone calls, nor was I able to get/send text messages. With no pattern or logic I would go from 3g to edge to neither of the two symbols (just full signal strength) to the international no sign where my full bars just were. If I typed and tried to send a text while the no sign was visible it would send and receive texts as soon as I got signal back, but that would only last a few minutes.
I've tried hard and soft resets and restoring the phone to factory settings, all to no avail, as well as checking my message center number. I've looked around in the forums and can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or could point me to a thread that I may have missed. I'd talk to AT&T but chat hours are over and I have to be up early for work tomorrow and need my phone for that, so I'm not sure I can ask customer service tomorrow beforehand.
Somehow I apparently changed the setting so that the woman's voice announces my incoming calls and texts from my contacts. I'd like to turn that back off and just have the whistle/ringtone.
I can't find it in the manual or online.
I have the Behold II through T Mobile and when I'm on the road and in certain places I will have full bars but no 3g, or wifi. When I try to send a text it says "Unable to send text, will send once service becomes avalible" When I try to make a call it says service unavalible.
It tells me I have full bars, and when I go to network selection, it doesnt matter what network i choose or whats avalible it wont connect to it, a message will pop up and say "Network with limited service avalible, search for network" ..if i say yes it just does the same thing all over again, and if i say no it goes into automatic mode and wont let me do anything once again..
I have full bars, does that not matter? If I have to have 3g then why would it tell me i have a full signal when I really dont.
These are our only phones and they stay on the night stand while we sleep. With the BB there were sound profiles you could easily select and the most useful one was "calls only". You select that and all of your notifications go silent except for incoming calls which would ring. This was perfect for switching on right before bed.
This is more of an issue for my wife because she's usually on call 24/7 so it's important to wake up or hear incoming calls overnight so vibrate mode isn't going to cut it. But at the same time, she has various notifications for email and messages and all of that so it's incredibly tedious to have to manually tweak all of those each night before bed and then turn them back on. So, at the very least is there an app or a way to easily switch the phone into a phone call notification only mode? A full blown sound profile app would be great too, but just being able to easily turn all notifications silent but the ringer with a few taps on the screen would be huge.
I just recently bought a windshield mount for my Vibrant.It is hooked up landscape style with my car charger and a AUX cable connected to it. When I try to make a call, it stays on the calling screen for like 2 seconds then ends the call. This keeps happening no matter how many bars I have.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my Vibrant a week after launch date, I noticed most people would tell me they had been calling me but I never received the call. Sometimes they said it would go straight to voicemail, sometimes it would ring and ring and ring with no answer and voicemail never coming on. Some times I wouldn't get text messages either, or just get the text messages hours after it was sent.
I ended up having to switch to Edge, which I really don't like because it's so much slower in my area than 3G. I know 3G is not what carries phonecalls, and that it shouldn't really matter. But my girlfriend and I both bought a Vibrant the same day, and we both have the same problem. She has gotten her Vibrant exchanged for a new one about a month ago since it ended up having a problem with the SD Card, and I had to get my Vibrant replaced a few weeks ago as well because my first one was lagging like crazy, and freezing............
I recently read about roaming being free on Tmobile. My phone is set to allow data roaming already. Is there a way to roam on other networks for calls also? I frequently visit areas with no Tmobile coverage.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe one thing I DON'T love is that about 1 second after a phone call starts, it goes into power save/lock mode/black screen, and I have to press the power button to get the screen back. This is during a call. Yes, I have set the regular power save options to stay on longer (2 minutes) but this does not affect it DURING a phone call. The saleslady told me it's a "feature" to keep your face from accidentally touching the touchscreen and unintentionally ending a call.
I really wish I could have the darned screen STAY ON during phone calls. It's such a pain to be dealing with some voicemail system & having to "press 1 for this, press 2 for that", but the thing keeps turning off IMMEDIATELY & I have to keep pressing the power button.
Isn't there a way to change this setting?
