What is everyone using for notification, since Vibrant doesn't have LED, somewheres on here there was a post where it said someone made a app for this.
But I'd like to know what people are using and if its working good, the one thing I don't like about this phone is that, I know I can just use the side button to light it up to see, but I miss by led light off the Cliq.

I downloaded a custom notification alert. I want to use it for my emails but not text messages. I found that I was only able to set it as the alert for one of my email accounts. If I try to set it up for the other one, it won't take. Like it's only allowed to be used for one or something. I wonder if I can use the same sound but name it differently maybe it will let me choose it...

This is pretty annoying, as you can imagine. I'm probably missing something obvious here, but does anyone know how I can unlock it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way for a website to send an alert/notification to a cell phone (smart phone, android, iphone... stuff like that) where the notification will ask the user a question and they have to answer the question and the response is sent back to the website and their answer is logged in the database.
I would also like to know if this notification could have checkboxes? I am needing this for a project and would like to know if there is anything out there like this.
When I have the Vibrant's brightness set manually on 0, whenever I slide the notification bar down the brightness jumps to 80%. Anyone else have this problem?

If any of you came from a BB9700, the text message would have a "D" next to it if it was delivered or a red X if it wasn't delivered.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently my phone will randomly start sending and receiving data constantly, even though no apps are open or being used. This causes my phone to get very warm and the battery to lose about 1% per minute. In order to get it to stop I have to reboot. I can't figure out what is causing this issue. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWell i tried out a rom (backed up first) didnt like it. so i restored my backup and now my phone is stuck on the vibrant logo. the tmobile ding plays but nothing. and for some reason my phone wont go into download mode and ADB wont work on my pc. it comes up and disappears rapidly. it open in cmd prompt but nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOk i promised I searched and didn't find a resolution to my question... Got my Vibrate on launch day. Love 95% of the phone. In a perfect world I would tweak a few things but by and large I am happy. HOWEVER after this most recent patch my battery full notification now also plays my notification sound. I.E. The very loud MP3 I have to wake me up in case I get a text in the middle of the night, now is going off at 3am to say "HEY battery is charged!!" Personally I would like to get rid of the battery notification all together, but I can work around everything but it playing that MP3. I know I can silence the phone but I WANT to know if I receive a text in the middle of the night. If it isn't possible to disable this alert I will simply not charge my phone at night so I really don't need alternative ideas, just to know if it is possible AND to provide feed back to someone this is less than an optimal situation if not.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI came across this in the marketplace. It basically lights up your screen on and off when you have a missed call or text. You have to option to set the frequency your screen flashes to notify you (every 5, 10 seconds, etc) and for how long this goes on (1 hour, 2 hours, etc) Gonna try it out. Not sure if it's a battery drainer or not, just trying it out myself.

What I'd like to do is completely disable any notifications showing that the charge is complete. Reason being, I use Bedside and at roughly 2am the notification closes bedside and lights my screen up until I acknowledge it. Then I have to close it, re-open bedside and I'm back in business. Anybody know a way to just turn that notification off all together?

I use the stock messenger app. If I receive a text message while on a call, it plays the text alert music in my earpiece and I can't even hear the person on the phone to save my life. If I were to turn on the speaker, it is alot worse.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis may be common knowledge, but whenever I get a notification alert (for a new email, text, etc.), I don't get another audible alert until I have checked the notification bar. What's up with that?
Maybe the first alert was an email that I don't care about, so I ignore the alert. But then if a text came in after that that I really wanted to know about, I wouldn't know about it until I actually checked the notification bar.
The new phone is great, but being alerted you have an unimportant e-mail at 3am is not. I found the option for LED notifications, letting you select each app, but when I looked for audible notifcations it gives me the option to select the sound and adjust the volume (in another tab). So, I turned the volume down for akk notifications for a quick fix, but now I cannot hear SMS alerts. It seems to be all or nothing.

Doesn't have to view it or anything just alert me as I am satisfied with the original email app. I've tried K-9 and it closes unexpectedly all the time and I find it unreliable with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S). I've also tried Maildroid which I wasn't too impressed with.

1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
Does anyone know of a way to have the Droid make an alert sound of your choice when the battery is fully charged? It would be awesome to hear when the battery is charged rather than have to keep checking visually at various intervals. I can't keep my hands off of the phone so I can get a little impatient during the charging process sometimes, I'd love to be able to "set it and forget it" until I hear the alert. If there isn't a way to do this, someone should figure out a way to make it so.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy definition/expectation of a 'notification' is a graphic/text message with the option to enable/disable a sound to alert me that the notification came in per app.
I want to:
1- enable/disable graphic/text per app
2- enable/disable sound per app
For #1, it looks like I have to go Setting>App Manager>All>Uncheck 'show notifications'. But, apparently that will disable everything...ie, no graphic/text or sound. I've tried lock screen and notification apps without luck so far......
My wife and I both have HTC Hero's (Sprint) and recently have been having problems sending and receiving pictures in our text (from each other as well as other people) If I send a picture to her, her phone will vibrate and the notification light will blink, but nothing will show up.
Now if I send a second picture the first one will show up on her phone, and if I send a third, the second one shows up and on and on. It happens the same way if she tries to send me a picture. The phones worked fine when we bought them in December. This problem has just started in the last month.
I have an mp3 that I want to use as my notification and text message sound. It was on my computer. I have emailed it to myself and I am able to download it to my droid eris.
On my Eris, it appears in my music section. How do I set it as my notification sound? It is not appearing in the "sound" list for notifications.
