Whats with ERIS and not being able to tell if your sent message has been received? Besides having delivory reports sent to you because who the hell wants extra notifications, especially when you send 100 txt messages a day. The reason for the question is my friends phone was dead and I sent a few extra messages

On the Motorola Droid what does the little icon mean next to a text that has a little red clock on it? I can't find it anywhere. Also, is there a way to see if someone received a text message? on my other verizon phones I could. It showed a little check mark.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

I have a song set for it and it plays all the way through until I get to the message and I'd like to be able to silence it. I know I can silence the phone when I am getting a call by pressing the volume buttons on the side, but I can't figure out a way to silence the text ring notification.

On my Eris, it appears in my music section. How do I set it as my notification sound? It is not appearing in the "sound" list for notifications.
I was just wondering if anyone knew a way to get rid of the notification telling you your text message has been sent successfully. Ever since I updated the new software this morning I keep getting these notifications when I send a text and it's driving me up the wall! My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?
View 6 Replies View RelatedGot my android yesterday havent really played with it other than installing app killer, and checking to see if i could root(i cant :sadface and noticed on my mothers phone(same droid eris) that her notification light was blinking Green. i Checked the manual from the verizon website and all it mentions is green solid, red solid, and red blinking, nothing about Green blinking. It was not plugged in, it was not being used. I thought it was perhaps saying "hey you have a new message/email/missed call" but she had no notifications. anyone know what Blinking green means?

(I don't know why there isn't a website where I can see all the apps available, why must you do it from your handset only?). And either way, does the notification count as a text message? I don't text much, but I might need to buy a higher level text plan if so.

It's my very first smartphone, i'm coming from an Env2 and got the Eris for $49.99 under the NE2 plan. Any tips for when I first get it? As soon as I open it? Should I fully charge it before anything? Or just jump right in and start playing? Thanks all and I am sure this is my first thread of many. I'm liking it here already

But the Icon has an green EXCLAMATION MARK in the envelope icon just as all the delivered messages do. I'm guess the Incredible Text message only indicates and verifies the message was sent by your (Incredible) phone, whether it was delivered has to be verified by long pressing the message itself and read the option VIEW REPORT. Does anyone know of a way to overcome this SMALL but very important dilemma.

If any of you came from a BB9700, the text message would have a "D" next to it if it was delivered or a red X if it wasn't delivered.
Should the stock gmail shortcut icon show how many unread gmail messages I have when using Sense UI? I thought it did. I've been using PandaHome for so long with the "Unread Gmail Notification" app that I can't remember whether or not I need the "Unread" app with Sense.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been rooted for about two weeks now. Originally, I was using the kaosfroyo rom v34, just now I changed to the nonsensikal vanilla 5.4. With both roms I'm getting the same error. It will download an app with no problem. However, as the app is installing, the notification bar will display a message that it was not successfully installed.It did it first with the kaos rom; I switched to nonsensikal thinking it would help, but no such luck. Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
I dont know how to get rid of this problem.
My msg icon on the main screen showin 1 notification but when i click the icon there is no new message in my inbox.
i have faced on my Micromax Smarty 4 A68 is that whenever I receive any message or Missed call on my phone, notification is not visible on the message icon and the phone icon. This is the reason i am using Holo Launcher and Apex launcher and unable to use Nova launcher or xperia launcher.

When someone calls or texts and ur not around the phone to hear it doesent the phone have a setting where it rings every 1 or 2 minutes. To alert you that you have some sort of message waiting. Other than the little tiny green light that blinks when u have a message. My env touch you could set it to alert you 1,2 5 15 30 minutes after initial message.

1. i have the "Droid" voice ringtone but when i get a text message it says "Droid" twice idk why its doing that i thought i only have it set to go off once
2. also when i get a new message it gives me a notification in the bar on top and the only way to make it go away and make my led turn off is by manually dragging down the bar and clearing it! is there any way i can have it just not show up or fix it or something?
On my wife's Droid X, the status bar indicates that she has a voice message. After logging into her message box and clearing all voice messages, the status indicator never goes away. Any idea how to clear this out? It's been there for a few days now. I've tried powering down and removing the battery. We are on Verizon if that matters.

Is there a way to set it up on the DX so that if i don't read a new text after the initial ring, it will beep or play the rington like every minute. this is the only feature i miss, bc sumtimes i walk away from my phone and miss the text coming in and i wont know its there unless i check my phone. I would like to have it beep or something every minute as a reminder that you have a text waiting.

When I click the text the time is correct once the text app launches, but the notification time is always off by 4 hours. I saw someone mention an offset??? Where is that and is that only for Handcent? Will that affect the time in the actual text app? Because that time is right.
