I got the SF but am wondering if there is a way to delete some of the apps that came with the phone, that are always running in the background. some of the apps are; voice comands, city id, blockbuster, allshare, kindle, skype. I don't use any of these apps, and have no idea how to get them off my phone, or if I even can.

I am trying to find some tv apps that work with the samsung fascinate. Most in the market will not download on my wifes phone. Have not tried with mine but I assume it would be same results.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUntil yesterday if I had an app like Pandora or ESPN Radio playing/running when the screen kicked off the app would keep playing. However, now when the phone goes to sleep everything else gets shut off. I have not altered anything myself per se. Even uninstalled a few apps like AutoKiller [which I had installed for weeks and everything worked fine with it on and installed] but the problem persists and remains. This really perplexes me as I want/need these apps to play with the screen off like they did before. For the life of me I don't know why this is; nor can I find anything in settings to change.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using google apps email for several of my websites. the settings are the same as gmail. I am using IMAP.
I setup my @gmail account and one of my @myprivatedomain.com emails in the gmail app and regular email app on my phone. I like using the gmail app as my email app since it auto syncs and you dont have to open and wait for sync like you do w/ the regular email app.Now I can't setup my @myprivatedomain.com emails in the gmail app. I don't understand on the Adroid phones why email setup is so hard. I had one hell of a time on the X and Inc setting up email. Very buggy and intermittent does anyone know what "your phone may not be provisioned for data services" means?

I would like to remove the text "Verizon Wireless" from my pattern lock screen and replace it with my name.
When I rooted my HTC Eris and loaded KoasFroyo I encountered a similar situation where that ROM made it say Team AndIRC. I was able to do what I wanted by replacing eri.xml.
When I try to use ADB to push that same eri.xml file to my Fascinate I get an access denied error. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated. Since the phone is locked I want my name available on the front in case it is ever lost.
I was wondering if app updates only show up once you've been in the "Market" or will the notification come up if you haven't opened the market for quite some time?I'm thinking the only time I've received a notification is when I'm in the Market. Is that the case?Other times, I do not get notification, then I'm in Market and I choose "downloads" from the menu and it tells me some of my apps have updates available on my list of downloads. Still no notification.

Buddies now friends stream and swype. I would like to unfreeze the apps. I have super manager installed and I can see that they are still there. Beyond that I have no clue what to do.

I use LauncherPro exclusively and according to this site, TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/odex can be removed safely, but he also mentions not to move Launcher.apk, which I don't see in my system folder. When I move it, the phone is operational, but keep getting a force close error for TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/odex. By moving it back with Root Explorer, it corrects the error immediately.I guess what I am asking is...is it possible to disable the 17MB file of TouchWiz if I am not using it, and if so, how.

Is there an easy way to export a list of all the free Apps I have installed so I can print them out? Too lazy to write them all down but will if I have too. ;<) Also, not quite as important to me but is there an easy to export all the text messages and import them into the replacement phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone, installed lagfix, and removed some bloatware from the phone via Titanium. The phone was stupid fast after doing this, almost everything loaded up instantly. However I started to notice some things weren't functioning properly. Apps on the marketplace would not download, I would try to download Launcher Pro and nothing would happen, nothing downloaded. Tried this with other apps, same thing. I rebooted the phone and noticed upon reboot that a force close/app error happened, not sure which app it was but it had google in it. I have no idea what app it could have been since I only removed apps if I knew what they were like Slacker, Kindle, Sims etc. Maybe removing the Sims caused the error?
I also noticed that emails wouldn't send (or would take a long time) even when I was on wifi. And the XDA app wouldn't work. I would go to make a post, click the text input box, but it wouldn't let me move the text cursor. I would press the keyboard and nothing happened.
I removed a crap ton of apps but they weren't anything major. I also removed the samsung widgets since I would never use those. Guess I should have asked on the forums before removing so much stuff.
Which apps are okay to remove? Any ideas on which app could have caused the market to mess up?
This isn't the first time someone has posted a stock app removal guide and probably wont be the last but lately I've seen a lot of threads on the topic so decided to put together a guide of apps that i have removed that has greatly helped out my battery life. For all intensive purposes this is the 'easiest' free way to get rid of the bloat, it does however require root access. You can always just buy root explorer from the market and delete them with it. I tried to make this guide as nob friendly as possible.
