Ive been reading forever and don't understand a lot of the technical terms. So please tell me in easy to understand language how to remove pre-installed apps from my eris.

Is there any way to remove the factory apps that come installed on the droid or any way to keep them from coming on. For example the corporate calendar shows on when check to make sure no apps are running so I have to hit the kill apps button to stop it until it decides to come on again. I have no use for this and some other apps that came installed
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Droid Eris with Verizon. It came installed with several apps that not only do I not use, but that in some cases start automatically. These include Amazon MP3, Footprints, Google Talk, Teeter, and YouTube. I would like to uninstall them, but I am not given that option (like I am for third-party apps) when I go into "Manage applications" in Settings. Is there another way of removing them from my phone?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I load a new ROM and need to reinstall my apps there are usually a couple I don't want to install. Is there anyway to remove them from the "Not Installed" under "My Apps"? It seems like since I once downloaded and installed an app, it will always be there.
If I can't remove them, then I can't use the bulk install option and have to manually start all the installs.

I flashed the phone but thereafter it would only turn on, pull up the MotoBlur sign in and have a date of 12/31/1969 at 7PM. I can't sign in to MotoBlur at that point and have to basically reinstall the most recent update and start from scratch again. All I want to do is remove those pre-installed apps that I never use.

There was no easy, step by step guide.So I decided to post my guide up here for anyone who like me, wants to uninstall system apps but hasn't the foggiest.This is for if you have the ROM already installed and don't want to do a wipe/re-install. for ROMs you are about to install, just open the zip, browse to systemapp and delete the .apk prior to installation.Enjoy your bloatware free ROM. What struck me was the amount of apps or widgets for things I'll never use cluttering the screens. Can these be removed or is this all linked to the OS? Is this what people are talking about in reference to installing ROMS? I understand that this is not yet possible on the Ds because of eFuse. I also understand it is being worked on.

And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.

Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I've tried settings>manage applications on my x10 mini, but can't find a way to remove these apps.

Some searching turned up a similar issue on other HTC devices on another carrier, something about an OS foot print? Is there a way to get around this? It's pretty obnoxious.
I am looking for a bit of info and/or a tut on how to remove apps with the rooted 2.1 for the Eris ( BTW thanks to all the dev's for their hard work). I have installed the rooted 2.1 with out a hitch. I have been looking around to find out how to uninstall a few of the apps (amazon, stocks, tweet) and found people that say to use SDK's ADB or terminal. I understand what the terminal is and the SDK that google offers is but not the ADB. I also understand that there is a chance to brick by removing the wrong things. So I don't want to just make a careless mistake.

Is there a way to re-arrange the order of the way the apps are arranged on this page ? If so, how?
Secondly, how can I remove apps off of the All Programs screen ? I know that apps that I download from The Market will disappear once they have been 'uninstalled', but what about anything else such as "Amazon MP3", "Visual Voicemail", "Stocks", etc. ?
These are things (apps listed above ) I have NO interest in, but they crowd up my All Programs screen and force me to do a lot more scrolling (due to not being able to re-arrange my most used apps on this page, SO FAR).
