Is there any settings or apps that will allow SF to return to the home screen when you turn on the phone again? It would be nice not to have to hit the home button each time I turn the phone back on?

This is my first smartphone and I don't know if it's my phone or not, but It takes 2 or 3 tries to turn it on? Is it my phone were do most of the new Samsungs have that problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI originally rooted so I could remove the verizon bloat / crap. Then I realized I couldn't get OTA updates (and I'm not the type that wants to keep manually updating the ROM on my phone). So I did the "back to stock" flash that unroots the phone and grabbed the OTA update. Since then I've been using Launcher Pro just to hide the programs I don't like. Now, somewhere in this process, the touchwiz homescreen got killed. If I kill Launcher Pro, all I'm left with is a black screen with nothing on it. No TwLauncher dock, nothing. When the phone boots up initially, I'll have that black screen, then launcher pro and my wallpaper will appear over it as well. Any ideas how this happened? And could this hurt the operation of my phone?

I believe I want the Fascinate but this issue with Google Maps navigation is an issue since turn-by-turn navigation is a big feature for me. Does Bing Maps also offer turn-by-turn navigation as well? Is it voice assisted? Personally I don't care if it's Bing or Google but I don't want the Verizon one since it will require a monthly fee. As long as Bing Maps offers the same functionality as Google Maps, I'm fine.

Does anyone know if there is any way of returning to the homescreen after sending an SMS? I have a Desire Z and whilst it's only a case of pressing the home key, it's a small gripe as I have to flip the keyboard back in and press home.
I'm using the default SMS application and I'm not too fussed on external SMS apps as I don't like the graphics (I've tried Handcent and the default Android skin still isn't quite the same), plus the only real reason I wanted them was to change the LED colour, but that doesn't work either. Anyways, if anyone has some ideas please feel free to let me know.
Until yesterday if I had an app like Pandora or ESPN Radio playing/running when the screen kicked off the app would keep playing. However, now when the phone goes to sleep everything else gets shut off. I have not altered anything myself per se. Even uninstalled a few apps like AutoKiller [which I had installed for weeks and everything worked fine with it on and installed] but the problem persists and remains. This really perplexes me as I want/need these apps to play with the screen off like they did before. For the life of me I don't know why this is; nor can I find anything in settings to change.

I setup my @gmail account and one of my @myprivatedomain.com emails in the gmail app and regular email app on my phone. I like using the gmail app as my email app since it auto syncs and you dont have to open and wait for sync like you do w/ the regular email app.Now I can't setup my @myprivatedomain.com emails in the gmail app. I don't understand on the Adroid phones why email setup is so hard. I had one hell of a time on the X and Inc setting up email. Very buggy and intermittent does anyone know what "your phone may not be provisioned for data services" means?

At night she turns the phone off, plugs it into the wall charger to charge overnight, and then the phone turns itself back on. The phone will not stay off while she is trying to charge it. She has had the phone for over a year and this just started happening recently.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHey everyone, I'm sort of new to this but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if anyone might have an answer.
This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?
