So I was curious on the In's and out's of removing root and I came across this video on the youtubes. It seems simple and straight forward. So if anyone was curious on how to remove root this seems super easy. If any of you gurus (looking at you saps and nitsuj17) can confirm this is a good way to do this that would be awesome.

How do I remove these buggers! I also tried ASTRO explorer, still denied.
I got the SF but am wondering if there is a way to delete some of the apps that came with the phone, that are always running in the background. some of the apps are; voice comands, city id, blockbuster, allshare, kindle, skype. I don't use any of these apps, and have no idea how to get them off my phone, or if I even can.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Samsung Fascinate. Installed Titanium Backup and managed to uninstall some bloatware.
I would like to remove the text "Verizon Wireless" from my pattern lock screen and replace it with my name.
When I rooted my HTC Eris and loaded KoasFroyo I encountered a similar situation where that ROM made it say Team AndIRC. I was able to do what I wanted by replacing eri.xml.
When I try to use ADB to push that same eri.xml file to my Fascinate I get an access denied error. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated. Since the phone is locked I want my name available on the front in case it is ever lost.
Does anybody know if you root will you still get the 2.2 update when it's released? I did root originally but decided to unroot because without 2.2 I can't do what I want anyway and I don't want to miss 2.2. Now if there were some cool custom ROM's it might be different......
View 7 Replies View RelatedI know, there are lots who are against one click roots. that said, I'm not fully sure I know why, and before I use ANY root method- I must be the slowest person on earth, I have been thinking about and considering and backing off from rooting for what seems like ages- I want to know everything I can about it. so, does the program work for the fascinate? is there a good reason NOT to try it? also- how hard is it (with any root method) to take the phone back to stock? yes, I know there is info on how to do this- I am not looking for detailed instructions- more like, opinions. how easy is it, did someone get hung up on any particular part of these processes, etc. honestly, I have the root files on my computer already for normal root- but keep chickening out. on the one hand, I hate the thought of voiding warranty on purpose- on the other hand, in all the years I have had phones and computers and other electronics, I have only ONCE had to use warranty, and then they said it was void anyway because they did not believe that the problem was due to a manufacturing problem(which it was) and I STILL had to pay for the repair. that all said, I get closer each day to rooting but I continue researching the subject (including the after rooting what to do stuff)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI took a few movies using the high 1280x720 setting, then uploaded over Bluetooth to my new iMac. I can view them fine, but iMovie will not import them (and it does import mp4), and MPEGStreamclip will not allow me to convert them.(or even view them. audio is there but no video) says error: no movie frame. Would supersuck if this is real. Can anyone else confirm this?

When I hit send, I see the 3g icon pop up but it never turns colors like data is actually being transfered then it goes away. When I look at the message details, it says status pending and it never sends. If I turn off wifi, it sends fine.

A few of the times that I have played a video using Video Player, I get a lock icon in the top righthand corner. At that point, the buttons do not work. Touching the screen does nothing. I have no idea how to unlock. Each time I've run into this (3 times now), I had to shut down the phone. I must be slow...anyone know how to unlock the video player?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems that rooting the Fascinate and fixing the Google Search issue on the soft key and removing some bloatware is pretty easy, and I'm actually contemplating it once I get a Fascinate. Here are my questions: If I root the phone, I would not get OTA updates, when 2.2 came out? I would have to remove the root in order to get that OTA update to 2.2? To remove the root, I would enter the following into a command prompt on the phone or on my PC?

There is no link in the menu button to adjust the total seconds of buffering. Is there a back door way to increase the buffer amount to help get better playback of Vcast?
