Is there a way to set individual notification tones for all my contacts? I've been able to get ringtones for incoming calls figured out but I really NEED to have different tones for my texts from different contacts.

Just picked this up yesterday and I'm very impressed. This is my first droid phone and it blows away the other phones I've owned in the past. Not really a fan of the iPhone and have been on AT&T forever..it's time for a change. My last phone was a Nokia E72 which is a great phone, but wanted more! Gonna put that on E-bay soon hah.
The only complaints I have so far are the notification sounds are quiet even at the max volume setting. The Nokia E72 is a lot louder both in ringtone and sms tones. Also, the four buttons on the bottom sometimes don't respond. I find I have to occasionally hit the same button a couple times to get it to work. Very minor tho imo. It's not too frequent.
on my storm I was not only able to set an individual ringtone for my contacts I was also able to set an individual text message tone for them as well. Is there any way to do this on the droid or a third party program available?Also, these are very simple. Is there any way or app out there that when i plug my phone in it will make a full screen clock like it does on blackberries? (in the picture of the phone in the media dock--that I don't have it shows something similar to what I want) Next, How do I choose different ringtones for my alarms. There are not that many to choose from in the list and I don't like any of them. Oh actually and I just thought of another one:some of my contacts are not linked to my facebook contacts, some are, how do I manually add facebook to a contact. (I only know of hitting the sync button on facebook, but that doesn't have any manual select setting)

1st off - And I apologise if this is answered properly elsewhere, but I can't find a satisfactory answer! How the hell can I choose what SMS tone is used for each individual contact; and how can I set it to silent for some contacts?? Please - is there a definitive guide anywhere??
One would expect to go into Phonebook, select the contact, press Edit, and have an option for SMS tone - but no!!
Ideally, I would like to set the SMS tone to silent for most contacts - so I got "Tone Picker". But even using Tone Picker, Set Notifications, Complete action using Tone picker, select Silent - DOES NOT WORK!!! I still get the notification tone on all texts! And Tone picker doesn't allow me to set the SMS tone per contact.
I am trying to figure out a way to be able to have a separate notification tone for email, text and calendar alerts on my Epic. Can anyone help? On my Moment I was able to create folders (ringtones, alerts, notifications, etc) on my SD card, but I was not sure if this will work on the Epic as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Moment and noticed that I can not have different tones for text, voicemail, and email. They all have to be the same as well as when I plug the usb cord into and disconnect it from the phone. Any idea if 2.1 is going to allow people to customize the tones for the phone? I really depend on those. I use the sound to determine weather or not I need to get to the phone to check on it or if I can just ignore it. Also any idea on the voice command? The one that comes with it is worthless, I really liked the "live search" from the instict and you would think Samsung would be able to put in the moment since it was in the instinct.

I also bought my girlfriend one and the same thing happened to hers. That's four phones in three weeks. I can't be the only one that is having this issue. Anyone else? My setting for the light to pulse is checked. I have also done a factory reset.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe problem I'm having is when ever I set a default notification tone it plays good and loud when I test it but when I actually get a text the volume drops below half making it very hard to hear the phone when ever I get a text. Is there a reason its doing this? I have the notification all the way up and it still drops when I get a text. When I turn the ringer volume down using the side buttons on my phone it only turns the ringer down, nothing else. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo if I have the messaging app open and on screen I don't get a notification sound for the message that I just got sent I have looked into settings and nothing, so if I respond to a message and put the phone down and they respond I dont know unless the app is closed - or I assume the screen is turned off but never tried that. I got 9 text messages from someone and it was important that I respond quickly, well I did and then put the phone down, they texted back 1 min latter and then again 1 min after that and again 1 min after that 8 times, I never saw them until I looked at the screen and that was like 5-6 min latter - screen timeout is set to 2 min but after the text after 1 min it reset that timer and again and again so I never got the message until 5-6 min after it was sent resulting in messages like "hello?" "WTF" "answer" and so on.
