Even if i choose the same ringtone for some reason the notification volume is way lower then an incoming call volume. even with all my volumes turned up. is this suppose to be like this? the guy at sprint couldn't turn it up either.

Am I blind, or is there no way to do this? I'm used to setting my ringer volume only, and expecting new voicemail or text message notifications to be the same volume!
View 18 Replies View RelatedThe problem I'm having is when ever I set a default notification tone it plays good and loud when I test it but when I actually get a text the volume drops below half making it very hard to hear the phone when ever I get a text. Is there a reason its doing this? I have the notification all the way up and it still drops when I get a text. At first I thought it was a issuse with handcent sms but its doing it with the default messaging app as well. Is anyone else having this problem?

When I turn the ringer volume down using the side buttons on my phone it only turns the ringer down, nothing else. I'm coming from the Evo where you can click "use same volume for both" or something to that effect. Is this a 2.2 thing?

I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

The problem I have is that the minimum volume for media is still too loud for me while listening to music at work. Is there any way I could say, lower the overall volume of the phone? Secondly, what kind of app can people suggest as an equalizer for adjusting bass/treble etc?

Now, I took one of those MP3s and set it as my ring tone. I turned the ringtone volume all the way up and when I got a call, it's like half the volume as it played as an MP3.
Why do I lose so much volume? Is there any way to make that louder?

View 4 Replies View RelatedGot my daughter the Samsung Epic this morning and grabbed a case and the home dock for it. Hate the fact that you have to remove the back of the case to plug it into the home dock and the fact that it sets the ringer volume to mute every time I plug it in, not to mention the fact that the external speaker option for the dock won't go active until the phone is updated to Android 2.2. Now that my mini rant is over, I do actually have a question, anyone know what you need to do to get the weather stuff to come up on the Desk Home screen when that software is active, I am having no luck at all. There is no option for it anywhere and the auto magic stuff must be broken. It clearly shows weather info available on all the pics and stuff Samsung has shown off and I would kind of like it to be there.

Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud). Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased my X10 no more than a day ago and find that when talking to someone the ear piece volume is not very loud. I have set the volume setting to max and its still very faint and hard to hear.
I also find the Ring Tone Volume is not very loud, even after setting it to max. I have confirmed the Firmware is the latest version, just as a process of elimination.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or could be that I have a faulty handset?
Just picked this up yesterday and I'm very impressed. This is my first droid phone and it blows away the other phones I've owned in the past. Not really a fan of the iPhone and have been on AT&T forever..it's time for a change. My last phone was a Nokia E72 which is a great phone, but wanted more! Gonna put that on E-bay soon hah.
The only complaints I have so far are the notification sounds are quiet even at the max volume setting. The Nokia E72 is a lot louder both in ringtone and sms tones. Also, the four buttons on the bottom sometimes don't respond. I find I have to occasionally hit the same button a couple times to get it to work. Very minor tho imo. It's not too frequent.
Okay, so i feel stupid asking this, but can't find it anywhere in the manual or google. what is the hole next to the volume rocker for?
View 9 Replies View RelatedEven with stock earbuds, the Epic's lowest volume setting is hot enough to cause hearing damage if used over long periods of time, particularly if the style of music being listened to isn't classical and has a continuous loud dynamic level.
With higher quality earbuds like the Etymotic HF2, UE Superfi 5vi and Shure E4c (all of which I've tried), the lowest setting becomes unbearably loud.
Since the music player and system adjust the same exact level, there's no way to affect the gain structure of the Epic, which means that better earphones become painful to listen to -- which is a shame, since the Epic sounds good out of the box and benefits from the upgrade.
Does anyone know of a different music player or app that allows you to adjust the volume to lower levels than the system volume currently provides?
My phone seems to be eating my battery away more than normal. No new apps have been installed and I am only using the phone how I normally have. what could be causing this? And also the in call volume is way to low, I am a gas engineer and working on site with this phone is a nightmare I can not hear a thing. Will the 2.1 update change this? I can not wear a Bluetooth headset for too long as it starts to hurt.

And yes, I've seen the "No lock" thread, but I still want the phone to be somewhat difficult to accidentally unlock. Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
I currently installed CM10 Jelly Bean on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. I understand it is still in beta and there are going to be bugs but for the most part everything works smoothly. One issue I am experiencing is when listening to music, whether via Apollo or Pandora, I set the volume to as low as it can go and it's still extremely loud. Here is some of my info :

So several times a day by Notification Volume goes way down. I want it to be as loud as possible so I slide the bar all the way to the right. A few hours later it is almost down to silent.

I tried one volume control tool, but even though it had 'separate' controls changing ringtone changed notification and vice versa.
