How can I make it not play the full notification sound while on a phone call?

Overall, I think the specs of the Epic win-out but the support (both HTC and community) for Evo is far superior. All of the debates about hardware and I havn't been able to find any real comparison regarding call quality. Since I actually plan to talk on the phone, what do those of you have one or the other or both have to say about sound/call quality? Ultimately, I think this will be the most important factor in my decision.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI am on my third epic and still having the same problem. My notification light worked fine when the phone was first activated and slowly stopped working altogether. I also bought my girlfriend one and the same thing happened to hers. That's four phones in three weeks. I can't be the only one that is having this issue. Anyone else? My setting for the light to pulse is checked. I have also done a factory reset.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe problem I'm having is when ever I set a default notification tone it plays good and loud when I test it but when I actually get a text the volume drops below half making it very hard to hear the phone when ever I get a text. Is there a reason its doing this? I have the notification all the way up and it still drops when I get a text. At first I thought it was a issuse with handcent sms but its doing it with the default messaging app as well. Is anyone else having this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe phone sounds an incoming call with the female voice identifying the name and number of the caller. Usually, I can't hear it--it's too soft. I've found and played with all the settings I'm aware (still learning more).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was talking on the phone, and another call came in (call waiting). Suddenly, my phone just restarted itself. Fortunately the reboot time is very fast, but of all the bugs to possibly run into on any cell phone, the scariest is the idea of dropping calls. I am convinced this may be a software glitch that will get fixed with an update.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had this happen to them? You place a call, and when you're done you attempt to hit the big red "END" button, but nothing happens? I've actually had the call counter tick off an extra 20-30 seconds before it hangs up.
Given that this is the main screen and not one of the capacitive buttons, I find this behavior very strange.
Is there a way to change the call screen? The current one is a little bland.

View 20 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to make the ringtone volume and notification volume the same? When I turn the ringer volume down using the side buttons on my phone it only turns the ringer down, nothing else. I'm coming from the Evo where you can click "use same volume for both" or something to that effect. Is this a 2.2 thing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo if I have the messaging app open and on screen I don't get a notification sound for the message that I just got sent I have looked into settings and nothing, so if I respond to a message and put the phone down and they respond I dont know unless the app is closed - or I assume the screen is turned off but never tried that. I got 9 text messages from someone and it was important that I respond quickly, well I did and then put the phone down, they texted back 1 min latter and then again 1 min after that and again 1 min after that 8 times, I never saw them until I looked at the screen and that was like 5-6 min latter - screen timeout is set to 2 min but after the text after 1 min it reset that timer and again and again so I never got the message until 5-6 min after it was sent resulting in messages like "hello?" "WTF" "answer" and so on.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the media hub update today and noticed that now when i get a text message my notification light stays solid instead of blinking...This is annoying because it could cause the battery to drain and it just looks weird...Is there any setting i can mess with, or has anyone else had this problem? I also notice that when i text i don't hear the typing anymore. It's just silent until i click send...Kind of weird...I'm thinking about uninstalling and re-installing handcent..
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else get bad quality at medium to higher volumes through normal calls (not speakerphone). Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.
