Samsung Epic 4G : Earpiece Speaker Rattling / Makes High Pitched Buzzing Sound
Sep 2, 2010I got my phone today, but I'm having an issue with the earpiece speaker rattling. It makes a high pitched buzzing sound basically. Does anyone else have this problem? If I press on the grill covering the speaker it seems to go away. I'm planning on taking it to a Sprint store to compare.
Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Jul 7, 2010I have a recently purchased Incredible (about 3 weeks) and within the last week the red earpiece on the phone has developed a very severe buzzing noise. Seems whomever I speak with can hear me fine, I just can't understand them. This hasn't been frequent but it is increasing. One day I had an ear shattering high-pitch noise that pretty much stopped all calls and I had to power down the phone. Could this be hardware or software related?

Dec 6, 2009Anyone else noticing an audible buzz when listening to someone talk when on a phone call? Sounds eerily familiar to a blown speaker. Scary since I noticed it as soon as I got it..... I believe my phone was a return that they sold to me. It seemed to have come with some downloaded apps already (though I'm not sure) and the box was a little worn looking (no plastic around the literature either)

Nov 29, 2010My wife's phone keeps beeping when she talks to people. It sounds like she is just mashing keys the whole time she is talking but the phone is against her face. I told her to make sure it is resting against her cheek so that her cheek isn't randomly hitting buttons on the dial pad but that still doesn't help.

Aug 20, 2010ever since I installed Froyo my phone has been so laggy it's almost unresponsive. I'm rooted so that may be a cause but it might be a bad app. Anyone else have similar problems?

When i have the swype app running then my phone is very slow, meaning when i just hit the home bottom takes five seconds to get there with all icons showing. Jan 11, 2010I've only been using my Nexus One for about 24 hours and it has suddenly started rattling when i place it down on a surface or shake it a little. It also occurs when the phone vibrates. As you can imagine this is pretty annoying, especially as you'd expect something that costs over $500 to be very well built.I've worked out it's coming from the top end of the device near the camera but I can't find exactly what it is that's causing the problem Has anyone else come across this or did I just get unlucky? Mar 20, 2010My Plantronics BT earpiece has been working flawlessly the last several years but all of the sudden I have been having issues with it when used with the Droid. What is the BT earpiece of choice that seems to work well with the Droid? For some reason, people say they couldn't hear me (as if the BT muted itself out on its on); Its been disconnecting itself from the phone but it still shows its connected in the Notification window. Today it kept going from BT to phone and vice versa in the middle of a call! I was like the what in the world is going on! LOL! It has a good charge so I know thats not the issue. Maybe its time for a new BT earpiece! What should I consider?

Nov 7, 2009When using Car Home mode - whether in the dash mount cradle or not - all navigation directions are coming through the earpiece speaker (above the word "Motorola" on the front) instead of the louder speaker-phone speaker (on the back). Totally useless.
I have Bluetooth turned off, so that shouldn't be the problem. Turning up the volume only increases the earpiece volume, it doesn't activate the other speaker. Anyone know how to fix this?

About 2-3 times a week, while on the phone, ill hear the start up sound of my eris, still talking to people on the phone, look and the eris has restarted, but im still on the phone. eventually it will cut off the call and finish starting up....has anyone had this problem. I thought it might be a problem with one of the apps, so i reformated back to like new, and ran it for 2 days before it did it again. Thanks

Aug 6, 2010Last night, I updated my Droid to 2.2 (Verizon official) with the instructions here. Worked perfectly, and my phone hasn't had battery or slowness issues at all.
BUT, I tried making a call this morning, and all of a sudden my earpiece is silent! Plugging in headphones work, the speakerphone works so my phone is capable of making calls.
I tried to plug/unplug my headphones a few times, thinking that it was the phone thinking there were still headphones plugged in and that didn't work.
I then restarted my phone at least 6 times, including pulling the battery. Nothing thru the earpiece.
Out of frustration, I did a hard factory reset. Still no sound from the earpiece!
Do you guys think the 2.2 update killed my earpiece, or is it a coincidence?
