After soft resets, BT on, BT off. Still can't hear it via speaker or earpiece. Anyone else seeing this. Next step is a hard reset which I don't feel like doing but might be my only option at this point.

I listen to my VM on speaker sometimes when Im doing something and the volume on that is VERY VERY low. Anyone else having this? Anyway to make it louder? Its lower than even my ring tones or alerts. Is there a hack or anything to make it louder?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI got my phone today, but I'm having an issue with the earpiece speaker rattling. It makes a high pitched buzzing sound basically. Does anyone else have this problem? If I press on the grill covering the speaker it seems to go away. I'm planning on taking it to a Sprint store to compare.

Do you seriously have to pay for Visual Voicemail on VZ?I just got the Fascinate and it looks like it.I'm coming from Sprint and the HTC Hero.It was a free option there.I thought it was feature built into Android?

However if I call my voicemail, volume and quality are fine. Obviously something is getting lost when your voice mail is getting routed through a data connection.

View 18 Replies View RelatedSort of two things which might be related. I've been having call quality issues with this phone since I got it. I thought it sounded very electronic and could hardly stay on the phone. Took it to a Sprint store and they did a soft reset and said they couldn't duplicate the issue. I made some calls, some said it sounded better. As long as I have the volume turned down it seems to be okay. But then it's hard to hear what they are saying. If I turn up the volume it sounds like someone is yelling too loudly too close to a microphone. Like bad speakers rattling or something (especially with "s" sounds).
On my headset which was $100 and worked so well on my old phone (people couldn't even tell I was on a headset) the person on the other side either says it's "okay" or says they can definitely tell I'm distant, to one friend saying it was "awful." When listening to Visual Voice Mail it's awful sound, regardless of the volume. Want to try to get a new phone, but then worried I'll have one of the other issues everyone else is having (WiFi or GPS or whatever).
I am joining the Captivate crowd. Currently browsing deals (frustratingly, most won't allow me to choose the small plan I require).
I read a few places that you can't use voice command/control when the phone is on bluetooth. Has there been any change to this since it was first released?
My car stereo is equipped to use a phone via bluetooth, with a microphone mounted by the rear view mirror. I live for this at times, but voice dialing would be 10x more helpful than scrolling through contacts on the stereo screen.
Also, I'd love to know if you can legitimately get visual voicemail without paying a monthly fee? At least for now, I want to keep the phone legit and not mess with warranty, etc.
I'm obviously asking for a brand new phone - as of right now, not "well, when it was released x, y, z" as I think sometimes things change quickly with phones.
My speaker isn't loud enough - when the phone is ringing/when in speaker in a phonecall / when listening to music. Same goes for the earpiece volume - and the volume is at the maximum level.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it just my phone, I was just on the phone with someone that was on a landline, I noticed it was a little garbly (is that a word LOL) and a little hard to understand, almost like the beginning of each word was cutting off, I decided to put him on speaker phone so I can write stuff down and the phone call was now crystal clear. Anyone else notice that their speaker phone sounds better then if they are not on speaker phone?

Before rooting when I had my earpiece in - if I received a message or call then sound came only through the earpiece. Now it comes through the earpiece and the external speaker on the phone. View 3 Replies View RelatedTraded my Hero for the Moment solely for the keyboard. A few things I learned quickly about the Moment that I wasn't aware of:
1) No LED for visual notifications. I miss that.
2) Not compatible with the Mac. You plug in the USB and it charges the phone...no mounting. Confirmed this with Sprint.
3) While the phone is very quick, there is a definite lag with typing on the hardware keyboard. I'm not a fast typist but it lagged by a letter almost always. If you look at the keyboard rather than what you are typing you are OK. I could adapt to this.
4) I thought the jiggle in the Pre was a bad until I met the Moment. The keyboard mechanism just seems too loose.
5) The joystick thing works great. I adapted immediately to it and really like it.
6) Screen is awesome.
I'd keep the phone if it weren't for the Mac incompatibility. That's a killer for me. Looks like I'm going back to the Hero and will deal with the soft keyboard. I thought about the Touch Pro2 but just can't go back To Windows Mobile.
I just discovered this today, and it has been mentioned in part before but I thought I'd share myself because it is an extremely useful feature, not to mention i had seen posts in the past that claimed this was not possible.Any app that produces sound, be it NAV, Voicemail or the music player can stream through your BT earpiece. I discovered it when my phone pocket dialed a strange combination of '?9797**' I have no idea how to reproduce a '?'After some reading I found that ** or p (pause?) will open the BT connection. The easiest way to enable it is to save a call contact shortcut of 'p' on the home screen. Just hit that icon prior to using whatever app you want and it will play through the earpiece. Hit the icon again to close the connection so you dont run into battery issue.Note you can dial ** to achieve the same (which will change into a p) however it will not work if you create a contact with **, you must create it with a p

Is it true visual voicemail where you can select which message you want to hear first and play them in order of priority or is it an email visual voicemail where you actually read the voicemail as a text. I never had a phone with vis voice so I am interested in finding out how it works.

People I call are telling me that they hear a phone number being dialed loudly while I speak to them, as if I am making a call while speaking to them. View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using your JB builds on my Motorola Atrix mb 860. When ever I call or a call comes, I can't hear anything unless I'm on speakerphone or I plug in Bluetooth headphones. I even replaced ear speaker flex cable. But still I am unable to hear anything.
I already did the factory reset, wiped cache/system and data and also tried different JB flavors for atrix and also stable CM 7.2 on the sdcard.
It is asking me for a password and I havent set anything up, I have the service, i got the everything plan, i just dont know how to get into it, i just got my droid yesterday and it is amazing, the best phone made in the history of phones, this throws alexander graham bell out of the water
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I didn't set up my voicemail yet, but the phone has been doing it for me, I guess. My previous voice mails and my 9 year old OGA have all been deleted. When I use the "Visual" voice mail, which btw, is hardly visual, it's more like photo voice mail. No visual text to read. The only two options I have are speaker or earpiece. Bluetooth does not work! When holding it to my ear to listen in private, the phones sensors never pick up the fact that the phone is near my face, and the screen stays active. Touch your face with it, and who knows what function you activate. And the audio quality is bad. You know who it is, but the sampling rate, or codec they use is low quality and you get a tinny buzzing sound constantly while the vm is being played back. Am I using this wrong, or is this just an Epic Fail on the part of the software?

When I switched over, I noticed that the Incredible had a VVM app native to HTC, and I have been using that app. However, the $2.99 service is still on my VZW account which started when I was using the Storm. If I'm not using VZW's VVM app, do I need to pay the $2.99 a month to get VVM using HTC's app?
