I know this has been a problem in terms of responsiveness. This Back capacitive button sometimes needs to be tapped more than once for it to respond. I exchanged the phone once but it's still the same.
Anyone hear any solution to this issue? and does anyone NOT have a problem with this back button?

For some reason the four buttons at the bottom aren't as sensitive as the touch screen. When tapping on icons on the touch screen, i can pretty much just use my finger nail, but to get the button on the bottom to consistently respond, I have to push and hold with my entire thumb. Anyone else have this problem? Is there some way to turn up the sensitivity?

For example; since I am new to Swype, I decided to take the tutorial and each time I would click (or even tried to slide) the next button, it wouldn't respond took about 5-7 tries.While on the phone with tech/and CS yesterday (for whole diff issue), I asked about the Capacitive Button Sensitivity - as mine wasn't working that well either (as others have mentioned). Tech had me remove the battery for 2 full minutes, and put back in - and now the Capacitive Buttons works perfectly.Anyone else having partial screen/certain buttons not responding to commands? I guess I could try removing the battery again, but I am not sure that will fix it.

So I was wondering if it's possible to change out the capacitive phone button on the main screen to something more useful for me, or would I need something a little beefier than root access, like a whole new rom?
Also, would it be possible to create a capacitive back button on the screen to replace the mechanical back button?
Where is the back button? Like, just to move back without deleting the text? I've had this thing for 2 days and this is driving me crazy?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI like many of you have been waiting for months to get my hands on the epic. However when I bought one, the battery life was insanely unusable even after 4-5 days. So I finally returned it for a new on. Well find out over the next few days how the battery performs. But the new one has capacitive buttons that barely respond to touch. Particularly the home key and menu key. I've read of a bunch of people having similar problems. Are we just a few unlucky people who happen to be on the forums, or is Samsung having serious Quality control issues here?

I have a basic animation of a button after it is pressed currently in my application. After the button finishes animating, I can no longer click on it. It doesn't even press with an orange highlight.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had this happen to them? You place a call, and when you're done you attempt to hit the big red "END" button, but nothing happens? I've actually had the call counter tick off an extra 20-30 seconds before it hangs up.
Given that this is the main screen and not one of the capacitive buttons, I find this behavior very strange.
Even though the end call is over 2x the size of my finger, it doesnt seem to work no matter how many time i press it! (most of the time).
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust picked up the Epic yesterday, and already been having issues all day long. The phone has does this about 5 or 6 times today. It will fade away, and when I come back to it a little later to check messages or anything, it will all be blacked out, and nothing will come back. (by hitting the power button) No matter what I push, the screen stays black, and the phone seems like it is off. (A few times, the lights have stayed on, and the buttons act like they are responding, but nothing works still) It has also lost signal completely twice today, and I've had to restart it to get signal back.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then the End Call button will refuse to work (it doesn't even get highlighted when pressed), usually for up to 5 seconds. As you can imagine this can make ending a conversation considerably awkward. Any ideas as to what would be causing this? I first thought it could be the proximity sensor/screen lock, but the screen would have to turn off when this is in effect, which it doesn't. I can see the screen perfectly, I just can't interact with the End Call button. Is there any other way to end calls?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Voice Recorder and it seems to work fine, expect for one thing, the voice quality when played back sucks! My old Samsung Sync was so much easier to understand, when playing back voice recorded messages. The Epic has a lot of hiss and scratchiness to it. I hope that's not what other people are hearing on the other end of our conversations. Anyone else have similar results using Voice Recorder, or comments from people their talking to? Could the lousy quality be because of the app, or the Epic's mic?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
Looking for a simple data toggle I can put on the home screen to turn data on/off with one press. I don't need multiple button for BT, WiFi, Gps because of the touchwiz drop down. Anyone using one with any kind of luck?

During a call, when I put the phone by my left ear, my ear and/or my cheek touch the screen, and though one would expect the buttons on the touch screen to be disabled during a call, when held against the ear and the face, I keep accidentally hanging up calls or in some other occasions, muting, having frustrated monologues to myself, thinking that the other person is ignoring me...
I mentioned using the left ear, because, it seems to have always happened when I held the phone by my left ear and not when I held it by my right ear.
I'm trying to find a more elegant solution, as dropping numerous calls is not an option. (today I dropped more than 15 calls). Any suggestions?
Has anyone figured out how to keep the lights from going out on the capacitive keys? I can't see what I am doing at night. They go out so fast.
