Samsung EPIC 4G : Back Capacitive Button - Tapped More Than Once For It To Respond
Oct 9, 2010I know this has been a problem in terms of responsiveness. This Back capacitive button sometimes needs to be tapped more than once for it to respond. I exchanged the phone once but it's still the same.
Anyone hear any solution to this issue? and does anyone NOT have a problem with this back button?

Samsung EPIC 4G :: Deleting Multiple Contacts
Sep 20, 2010When i got my new phone, all the contacts were transferred over from my previous phone. I also have all my contacts in Google. When Google sync'd to the phone it created a duplicate of all the contacts. Is there a way to delete all the phone contacts so that all i have is the google contacts, which is what i use as the "master".
I know i can reset the phone to factory defaults but i have a lot of apps, music and pictures on there that i would prefer to not have to try and backup and reload.

Jul 10, 2010So I've been less than thrilled with the Moment since purchasing the phone in April. Battery life stinks, camcorder quality is terrible (especially with the 2.1 upgrade), camera is fair but severely lacking in features, the phone has slow touch response times, and it's ridiculously bulky. I have wanted to put some videos up on youtube of me performing some of my music and the quality of the camcorder is so bad that is not an option. I have held off purchasing a separate Flip camcorder because I knew there would be a smart phone by Sprint that had a full-fledged camcorder integrated with the phone.At the time I bought it, it was simply the best smart phone Sprint offered. But the Samsung Epic 4G is going to be the phone I wanted initially. The specs are incredible, and since I won't use a phone without a slider keyboard the phone is perfect for me. Besides being much faster and full-featured than the Moment, the form factor seems a good bit slimmer than the Moment too (I've seen pictures of the phone only, but you can tell it's slimmer in the pictures).

Sep 9, 2010Has anyone figured out how to do this? When I hold my finger on a text and choose forward, I only get the box where I have to type in each contact individually. Is there a way to show a list of my contacts when forwarding or at least a way to forward to a group? I have groups set up, but there doesnt seem to be a way to access them when forwarding. I have tried every option and every menu and cant find out how to do this on the Epic?

Aug 31, 2010For some reason the four buttons at the bottom aren't as sensitive as the touch screen. When tapping on icons on the touch screen, i can pretty much just use my finger nail, but to get the button on the bottom to consistently respond, I have to push and hold with my entire thumb. Anyone else have this problem? Is there some way to turn up the sensitivity?

Sep 10, 2010Has anyone had this happen to them? You place a call, and when you're done you attempt to hit the big red "END" button, but nothing happens? I've actually had the call counter tick off an extra 20-30 seconds before it hangs up.
Given that this is the main screen and not one of the capacitive buttons, I find this behavior very strange.

Sep 1, 2010Just picked up the Epic yesterday, and already been having issues all day long. The phone has does this about 5 or 6 times today. It will fade away, and when I come back to it a little later to check messages or anything, it will all be blacked out, and nothing will come back. (by hitting the power button) No matter what I push, the screen stays black, and the phone seems like it is off. (A few times, the lights have stayed on, and the buttons act like they are responding, but nothing works still) It has also lost signal completely twice today, and I've had to restart it to get signal back.

Sep 9, 2010Every now and then the End Call button will refuse to work (it doesn't even get highlighted when pressed), usually for up to 5 seconds. As you can imagine this can make ending a conversation considerably awkward. Any ideas as to what would be causing this? I first thought it could be the proximity sensor/screen lock, but the screen would have to turn off when this is in effect, which it doesn't. I can see the screen perfectly, I just can't interact with the End Call button. Is there any other way to end calls?

Sep 5, 2010I downloaded Voice Recorder and it seems to work fine, expect for one thing, the voice quality when played back sucks! My old Samsung Sync was so much easier to understand, when playing back voice recorded messages. The Epic has a lot of hiss and scratchiness to it. I hope that's not what other people are hearing on the other end of our conversations. Anyone else have similar results using Voice Recorder, or comments from people their talking to? Could the lousy quality be because of the app, or the Epic's mic?

Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

During a call, when I put the phone by my left ear, my ear and/or my cheek touch the screen, and though one would expect the buttons on the touch screen to be disabled during a call, when held against the ear and the face, I keep accidentally hanging up calls or in some other occasions, muting, having frustrated monologues to myself, thinking that the other person is ignoring me...
I mentioned using the left ear, because, it seems to have always happened when I held the phone by my left ear and not when I held it by my right ear.
I'm trying to find a more elegant solution, as dropping numerous calls is not an option. (today I dropped more than 15 calls). Any suggestions?

For example; since I am new to Swype, I decided to take the tutorial and each time I would click (or even tried to slide) the next button, it wouldn't respond took about 5-7 tries.While on the phone with tech/and CS yesterday (for whole diff issue), I asked about the Capacitive Button Sensitivity - as mine wasn't working that well either (as others have mentioned). Tech had me remove the battery for 2 full minutes, and put back in - and now the Capacitive Buttons works perfectly.Anyone else having partial screen/certain buttons not responding to commands? I guess I could try removing the battery again, but I am not sure that will fix it.
