Anyways, I've had this phone for almost two weeks now and I love it. The only two things that have bothered me is: 1) the battery icon, it'll look like 80% when really it's 60% and 2) when I press the button sometimes I'll have to hit it a couple of times to make the back button work.

I've noticed that the standard icon does a really poor job tracking the actual battery percentage. For example, the percentage will show 35%, but the icon will still appear two-thirds green.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a long time Nokia user and got my first android phone two weeks ago and there are still some learning to do in order to know how to use it properly. Today I accidentally removed one of the short keys from the home screen and I'm not able to get it back to it's place. To be more exact, it is the messaging short key which is located on the bottom bar of the screen. The other ones (Phone, Contacts & Applications) are still the, but when I'm trying to return the messaging icon back to the bottom bar, I always end up with the trash can over the area where I'm supposed to place the icon.What can I do, How do I get the icon back on the home screen?

When I first got this phoe, I deleted the original espn, cnn and facebook shortcuts that came preloaded on the right screen. I have since come to realize that I check espn A LOT and I wanted the shortcut back there. So I added a bookmark, but the original icon that came preloaded just looked a lot better, does anyone know if there is a way to get the original icon back without doing a factory reset?

I have no apps running that would require it to come on and the only way to get it to turn off is to power the phone down and then turn it back on. It doesn't bother me.but I do believe it is running my battery down faster then normal.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my captivate about a week ago and have been having issues with my alarm clock. I set my alarm to wake me up every morning. Some mornings I am up before the alarm goes off so I turn it off, or atleast I think I turn it off. When the alarm is on I see the clock in the notification bar. So when I wake up I click the clock icon and turn off the alarm. I no longer see the icon on the notification bar but the alarm seems to go off anyway. The repeat for the alarm is set at "once". I just go in every night and turn it on. It just seems to go off anyway even when it is turned off earlier in the morning.ks

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I have had our captivates for just over a month and have loved the device despite the few minor issues that we've experienced with them. I check the boards daily to see all the latest, but didn't see anything on one issue that i am experiencing.
When using the camera to take pictures of my infant son, if i try to take a picture, then another and sometimes a third (infants are hard to keep still for a picture) without closing the camera application, a few times i haven't been able to press the take picture button and have noticed a "lock" icon on the camera screen, then can not exit the camera app at all and need to power off the phone, then bring it back up. Does anyone know what causes this and if it's something that i am doing unknowingly when bobbling the phone trying to positing him for the picture?

View 18 Replies View RelatedOne thing that has been bugging me is the 4 buttons at the bottom and the lack of sensitivity. I find myself pushing them 2, 3 times to get the expected response. Sometimes I know it's OS lag, but other times i really think/thought it was an issue with the buttons.I changed my default keyboard from Samsung to Android and I think the buttons work great now. Can anyone else confirm? Maybe it's just in my head.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've spent the last week or so retooling my launch screens with different launchers (LauncherPro Plus, Open Home, ADW) and I liked features of them all, but no one launcher had all the features I wanted and no one launcher looked completely ready for prime time. So yesterday I went back to TW, just to see what I was missing and found that I like it better than I did before. It's not on par with Sense (I had an Aria before I went to the Cap), but it's a well-executed UI with enough polish to make it look slick enough. The third party stuff was always a little janky and I had to futz with the phone to get it right. I come from a graphics background and, while I don't really dig the cartoony icons and I wish I had the option to select my own, it's a nice looking interface.
