When I press on the home button lightly a "complete action using" option comes up and tells me to choose either A.HOME or B. TwLauncher. What does this mean? And why is it showing up? I haven't noticed this until today--I now have to choose one when I press on the home button.

I am a new member and a relatively new owner of an X10i. Overall I am happy with the phone but I am hoping some can answer a question. When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.

Before I rooted my phone I was having the issue that, despite checking the "Use by default for this action" box, my phone just plain refused to save what homescreen app to go to when I tap the "Home" button.I've tried clearing the cache. I've done factory resets and data wipes (although I did restore "all apps with data" with Titanium Backup). I've tried using the Home Switcher app. Nothing works.Right now my phone is running the current version of BB, ChevyNo1's 1.0Ghz 5 slot update.zip for OC, and am using AdamZ's Smoked glass theme. I want to use the "HelixLauncher" app as my default homescreen, but it's rather obnoxious having to constantly select it when I hit the home button (it'll save my default action for a few clicks, and then I'll have to set it again).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have 2 apps and both integrate a package containing an activity. My problem is that when I launch any one app, and when it calls the activity inside the package, it shows me a dialog:
Complete action using:
App1
App2
I want to eliminate this dialog, so it just launches the activity from its own integrated package.Currently, my AndroidManifest.xml contains for the package activity:

<action android:name="com.example.test.TestActivity" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
</intent-filter>
I'm on Note 2 with Android 4.1.2 and every time I click on a link in the stock browser (specially on youtube) the "Complete action using" keeps popping up.
I do selection "always" not to mention.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am a newcomer to Android having recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S I9000M (my first smartphone ever), marketed in Canada under the name Vibrant. It is running Android 2.1 and I have not yet rooted, unlocked or otherwise modified the phone.
I have downloaded and installed three browsers in addition to the stock Internet browser: Dolphin, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile.
After installing Opera Mobile I started having the following annoying problem:
When I was in the stock browser, every time I clicked a link the "Complete action using" window would pop up prompting me to select which browser I want to use. The choices were: Dolphin, Internet and Opera Mini (curiously, no Opera Mobile). I would check the "Use by default for this action" box and proceed to click "Internet" (the stock browser), which should have made the stock browser my default one. However, next time I clicked a link it would happen all over again.
This happened only in the stock browser, never in Dolphin or one of the Operas.
It's like my Android kept forgetting my choice of default browser although in the settings for the stock browser it said it was default.
I also noticed that after the installation of Opera Mobile the delay between clicking a link in any browser and the browser's reaction became noticeably longer (up to a second).
The 'complete action using' box does not come up when playing a video, even though my video player is not set as default app for playing videos. I have tried clearing defaults.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore 2.2 There was a vibrate only option if you rocked the volume down just before the silent all option. Now, I can either only have vibrate with audio and a complete silent option; or a vibrate all option with no complete silent.
The vibrate only was great for things like movies, meetings, etc. The silent was great also when the vibrate itself is loud enough for an entire room to hear the buzz. Is there a script or an option I'm overlooking that would allow me to get that back?
I'm running BB v0.3, OC'd 1100 Max.
The subject pretty much says it all. I don't know anyone who can receive a text message on their home phone, yet every contact I have who has a home phone has "Text Home" sitting there staring me in the face. For that matter, "Text Work" is mostly useless as well.

When I click on show map it should open "Complete Action Using" to ask if I want to open the map in the browser OR Google map. But now I don't get that option and it opens the map in browser by default. To solve it I already tried:
1. Reset "Launch by default" option in Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications.
2. Also tried Reset Phone factory Settings.Can you please help me in enabling the setting to get "Complete Action Using" window before it opens the map?
Got my daughter the Samsung Epic this morning and grabbed a case and the home dock for it. Hate the fact that you have to remove the back of the case to plug it into the home dock and the fact that it sets the ringer volume to mute every time I plug it in, not to mention the fact that the external speaker option for the dock won't go active until the phone is updated to Android 2.2. Now that my mini rant is over, I do actually have a question, anyone know what you need to do to get the weather stuff to come up on the Desk Home screen when that software is active, I am having no luck at all. There is no option for it anywhere and the auto magic stuff must be broken. It clearly shows weather info available on all the pics and stuff Samsung has shown off and I would kind of like it to be there.

Since Launcher Pro's contact button didn't work, I decided to un-install LP. *In case you're wondering, each time I clicked on the Contacts icon/button of LP, I would get an error pop-up saying that it was unable to launch (something to this effect.) Anyway, after I un-installed the LP I decided to also un-install the HS - with using just having to use TW - I figured I don't need HS anymore. So I removed HS from my Applications, but I am STILL getting the pop-up window each time I go to my home screen! So annoying! How do I get this off my home screen? I am trying to avoid doing a Factory Reset, because I don't want to have to input all my contacts manually again! Google didn't sync all my contacts, so this would mean having to start all over on setting up my phone. Unless someone can suggest a contacts backup program to place on my PC?

View 9 Replies View RelatedFor some reason the four buttons at the bottom aren't as sensitive as the touch screen. When tapping on icons on the touch screen, i can pretty much just use my finger nail, but to get the button on the bottom to consistently respond, I have to push and hold with my entire thumb. Anyone else have this problem? Is there some way to turn up the sensitivity?

Given that this is the main screen and not one of the capacitive buttons, I find this behavior very strange.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Epic for 10 days now and have swapped it once for this problem. If I power off the phone to save battery life or change battery, when I power up again the app and contact shortcuts I had placed on the home/extended pages have disappeared (the widgets are still there). The apps and data are still there in the apps folder, but it is a pain having to pull my most commonly used ones back to the home pages each time I restart the phone. Sprint tech have remotely rebooted the phones and we have taken both phones back to factory settings several times but the problem always recurs. As I have now had 2 phones with the same problem I am presuming it is a software glitch. Sprint have been less than helpful to date, other than basic resets and changing the phone. Has anyone else had this issue?

I know you can't do it in TouchWiz, even though if you press on any of the home screen indicators (the dots at the top) you can fast path to that screen. I tried launcher pro - but could not figure it out - that could be user error. The reason I want this, is to keep my home page clean and have a few icons at the bottom to get to certain pages without having to scroll. (examples music, tools, car, shopping).
View 8 Replies View Relatedi saw a video back when i was debating between evo and epic, and it showed me how to change those bottom 4 buttons (PHONE CONTACTS MESSAGING APPLICATIONS). i figure phone and contacts kinda go hand in hand so its a waste, and i use HANDCENT. now that i have the phone i cant figure out how to do it to save my life. anyone have any ideas?
The same feature also allowed you to swap around the applications view, and delete unused home pages. i dont need 7 pages id be fine with 4 or 5 (multicon FTW)
Even though the end call is over 2x the size of my finger, it doesnt seem to work no matter how many time i press it! (most of the time).
