Samsung Captivate :: Transfer Apps To Another?

I have 2 Captivates on my family plan. I just downloaded(using Appbrain) a bunch of apps to my phone. I want to switch to and use my wife's Captivate which is brand new. How can I get all of my apps onto her phone? If I put my sim card in hers and sync w/ Appbrain will it install all of the apps I have on mine? If I put her sim card in my old Captivate and sync her Appbrain account will that erase my old apps and install hers?

I'm totally new to android and all "smartphones" for that matter. What is the best way to transfer a movie onto my captivate? I was just gonna go with the ol' drag and drop. Is there a better way? And second question...When I have my phone plugged into my computer I can't do anything on the phone. It just says connected and i can't get off the screen. How do I change that?

Just got it last night at ATT b&m (for $149!!) and yes (as my lovely wife can attest) I was captivated for many an hour. Battery cycling. Overall VERY good despite the posts I've read. Very intuitive UI but I could see where some mods would be sweet. EXCELLENT GPS performance; 15-30 sec fixes INDOORS with 5-10m accuracy w/out WiFi. My BJII was never this good. Excellent You Tube performance WITH HQ playback. 8GB SDHC works flawlessly, My only suck is phone contacts transfer from WM6. BTW - bod was 7/22/10. Now on to the Market, sideloading and may be root.

I have the camera resolution set to superfine(5mp) and it takes really good pics.However,when I transfer them to my laptop and try to view them with the windows photo viewer they aren't anywhere near the resolution I took them in.Is there something I did or not doing ?,I took a 5mp Pic,transferred it to my pc and it showed up at less than 15kb in size when it should have been like 2-3 megs.

When my car bluetooth downloads the phonebook from my captivate, it downloads some contacts, but doesn't download the ones from my exchange server. They show up fine in the contacts app, but the car doesn't receive them. I thought it might be an issue with the way they were put into the contacts, so I undid the built in android exchange account, deleted the contacts, then installed touchdown and populated it that way. Still no joy. I thought that originally it was downloading them correctly (using the built in exchange sync) but either stopped working correctly, or never was and I just now noticed it.

I'm having trouble transferring songs AND playlists from iTunes to my Samsung Captivate. I've tried a lot of things and every one of them just transfers over the songs from the playlist and not the actual playlist. I really like the Music Player Samsung has and I want to use that one, but nothing seems to transfer playlists to it. I've tried doubletwist (only transfers the music, not the playlists), iTunes agent, (same) dazzboard (doesn't work at all), and songbird (so buggy and slow, impossible to use... gave up) There has to be some way to get that player to work with iTunes or to import everything from iTunes and use it with the Samsung Music Player.

1) If i download a movie file of 700mb, avi, can i just transfer to my microsd or internal memory and play the file flawlessly? I needed to compress file to play on my bold, or it would be extremely choppy. Also, what about a 720p video quality movie? file size 1.4gb, will it be choppy?
2) Is there an app on android market for the android forums? one that will give notifications when replies or messages are sent? i know crackberry had one on the blackberry, but was really just a shortcut to their forums.

I'm new to Android. I recently was an iPhone fan but thought that Android was a better alternative to iPhone. So anyway, I have a few questions about the Captivate. Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. Anyways, I look forward to Android and the Captivate.

in about a month or so my cntract will be up and I was woondering bfore I buy the samsung captivate from att if it can download third party apps without havng to be rooted this will determine wether I get it or not because I nd wireless tether for my house I had it on my windows htc pure so.

I bought a samsung galaxy xcover 2 2 weeks ago, and i realized that theres nothing to do to transfer/download straight to sd card. I called to Samsung support in finland and they said that i have to format the sd card and after that you can transfer some very few applicatoins to sd card but however i have not managed to transfer even one application. I have tried app2sd and searched around the internet in order to find some way to transfer apps to sd card. I found from youtube some kind of way, but there was like downloading some program to computer and then connecting the sd card and phone separately to computer and then giving some commands to computer and copy and cut and clicking thousands folders and some more stuff i didnt really understand the whole thing was really complicated. I am starting to be really frustrated for this problem or whatever it is, its just stupid to even put this kind of faulty "function" to any kind of smart phone. In every other way samsung galaxy xcover 2 is very excellent and easy to use, but i think transfering apps to sd is very important function/tool. How to transfer apps to sd in Samsung galaxy xcover 2.

Ima new to the android world, I had a iphone and hated it. Now I have a samsung captivate and I love it. I herd of the side app loader wonder machine but I cant find the driver for my phone when I hook it up to my computer. Where can I download the driver for my phone and get the sideloader to work on my phone.

New to the Captivate, and on my second phone (1st one would turn off, so I had it replaced). I downloaded a few apps on my first phone and everything showed up with an icon just like magic. Now I am trying to download a few free games for my kids to play and they will not download. Do I need to change a setting on my phone?

I LOVE this phone, but what is it with these applications starting themsleves in the background? I use the gmail app for my mail, and I am trying to minimize my data usage and everything so I've done the WiFi sleep policy setting, but after I went to bed, I woke up all of these running:
Youtube
Email
Voice
Gmail
Twitter
Gallery
Music Player
Video Player
Granted, I don't think gallery/music/video uses data, but still. It seems weird that they just decide to start up. Is there any way to BLOCK applications from starting up unless I do it myself? Or at least a way to make sure they don't use the data network unless I say? I have ATK, but they still start on their own randomly.

I know there are threads dealing with app loading on the Captivate, but I am still confused. I read the sideloading sticky, and came out more confused than ever.I am a current Tilt2 (Winmo) user, and am considering buying a Captivate.Are you only able to install apps that you download through Marketplace? If so, is there any simple way to get around that? My boyfriend has a Sprint Samsung moment, and all you have to do is use Astro file manager to install apps which you have saved to your SD card.Is this not true on the Captivate?I definitely would not want to purchase a phone that doesn't allow third party apps.
