Samsung Galaxy S :: Deleting PLS File That Transfer To Internal Or External SD Card
Aug 28, 2010I registered because I have this weird problem of the phone deleting any PLS file that I transfer to the internal or external SD card. I can transfer other file types to the card and they stay there. Is this deliberate by Samsung or Android generally? Can anyone else retain PLS files in their SD card?

Aug 16, 2010I use MyBackup Pro and it can store its backups on an external SD card. I've searched but haven't been able to discover if Titanium has this same capability. If a phone needs to be replaced, what good is it to have the backup internally? I know I can copy the TitaniumBackup folder to my external SD card along with its files, but can it be done automagically as a program option during the backup?

Aug 11, 2010This has happened to me twice now. I get a red warning triangle that the external SD has dismounted itself improperly. I take off the back of the phone, and sure enough, the microSD is most of the way out of the slot like it got ejected. I push it back in and all is well. And I only have to push it in once. The slot actually ejected the card like something tripped the spring in there.

Jul 27, 2010I just got my Captivate this past weekend and love it so far. I came over from the HTC Aria so I am a little Android savvy. Question is this. I put a 2GB SD card in my Captivate and want to set one of the songs on it as a ringtone. I would also like for the external SD to be the default location for pictures when I take them. Thirdly, I want to access the external SD card when I connect my phone to the PC via the USB cable, but for the life of me, these 3 issues I cant seem to resolve and they were cake on the HTC.

Sep 8, 2010New to this phone and loving it. I live out in the boonies and no DSL/Cable, no other carriers have 3G, so been using the tethered phone (Yes, 2GB + $10/GB ... I know!). Phone likes to switch between EDGE/3G. Phone unrooted.
1) Any app to easily force 3G only? I know about the dial #*#*197328640#*#* -> Option 1 -> Option 8 -> Option 4 -> RAT to WCDMA setting but would prefer an app for when I take the phone out with me.
2) Ordered an external antenna / connector. Will I really have to drill a hole in my battery cover? There has to be somewhere I can order a battery cover from with the hole there already? I can't be the only person wanting to do this.

Aug 14, 2010I have 2 Captivates on my family plan. I just downloaded(using Appbrain) a bunch of apps to my phone. I want to switch to and use my wife's Captivate which is brand new. How can I get all of my apps onto her phone? If I put my sim card in hers and sync w/ Appbrain will it install all of the apps I have on mine? If I put her sim card in my old Captivate and sync her Appbrain account will that erase my old apps and install hers?

Aug 5, 2010Just got it last night at ATT b&m (for $149!!) and yes (as my lovely wife can attest) I was captivated for many an hour. Battery cycling. Overall VERY good despite the posts I've read. Very intuitive UI but I could see where some mods would be sweet. EXCELLENT GPS performance; 15-30 sec fixes INDOORS with 5-10m accuracy w/out WiFi. My BJII was never this good. Excellent You Tube performance WITH HQ playback. 8GB SDHC works flawlessly, My only suck is phone contacts transfer from WM6. BTW - bod was 7/22/10. Now on to the Market, sideloading and may be root.

Nov 16, 2010I have the camera resolution set to superfine(5mp) and it takes really good pics.However,when I transfer them to my laptop and try to view them with the windows photo viewer they aren't anywhere near the resolution I took them in.Is there something I did or not doing ?,I took a 5mp Pic,transferred it to my pc and it showed up at less than 15kb in size when it should have been like 2-3 megs.

Everything is connected and I have had no problem sending files from the computer the phone, but everytime I try to send from the phone to the computer it says "unable to connect to remote device"anyone have any suggestions? this happens with pictures, videos and music files. Jul 21, 2010When my car bluetooth downloads the phonebook from my captivate, it downloads some contacts, but doesn't download the ones from my exchange server. They show up fine in the contacts app, but the car doesn't receive them. I thought it might be an issue with the way they were put into the contacts, so I undid the built in android exchange account, deleted the contacts, then installed touchdown and populated it that way. Still no joy. I thought that originally it was downloading them correctly (using the built in exchange sync) but either stopped working correctly, or never was and I just now noticed it.

Oct 1, 2010I'm having trouble transferring songs AND playlists from iTunes to my Samsung Captivate. I've tried a lot of things and every one of them just transfers over the songs from the playlist and not the actual playlist. I really like the Music Player Samsung has and I want to use that one, but nothing seems to transfer playlists to it. I've tried doubletwist (only transfers the music, not the playlists), iTunes agent, (same) dazzboard (doesn't work at all), and songbird (so buggy and slow, impossible to use... gave up) There has to be some way to get that player to work with iTunes or to import everything from iTunes and use it with the Samsung Music Player.
