View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen i d/l an app from AppPlanet it won't let me install the app because i don't have Non-Market enabled. I searched around and found there is an option in the Applications settings but i don't see that option on my rooted phone
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a theme from a website, and my phone said is was set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market. Can you only get apps from Android Market? Seems ridiculous.I've heard the term 'side loading'. Does that have to do with loading apps outside of Android Market?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm still learning a ton about the android OS and I have a dumb question. Are there apps the Android market that is made for a rooted phone only. Reason im asking is because I saw something on there but it looks like its made for a rooted phone only and I dont wanna risk screwing up my phone over it.
View 4 Replies View Relatedso on top of getting a free version of Quickoffice, we also now have Desk Home and Car Home for the captivate. The Desk home is much like the screen you see when the original Galaxy S was put in the Home station and car home looks very handy to see and works, of course, in both landscape and portrait mode.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android. I recently was an iPhone fan but thought that Android was a better alternative to iPhone. So anyway, I have a few questions about the Captivate. Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. Anyways, I look forward to Android and the Captivate.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn 3g the market dowloads for apps has been very slow, i recently reflashed back to stock, old stock. i dont know if it was like this before the flash or not. on wifi the downloads are normall.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there an app either pre-loaded on the Captivate, or one I can get from the Market, that will just show you where you are right away, without you having to enter a destination, and as you move around it will update your location, maybe with Street view or 3D or something? Maybe Navigation does this and I don't know how, but when I start Navigation it wants me to enter a destination.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently Upgraded my captivate to 2.2. all paid apps seemed to work and download just fine, And all the free apps i had i re downloaded without any problems. but when i went to download Reckless Racing again it will not let me install it.It downloads fine, And when it tries to download it. it gives me an error saying installation unsuccessful.I tried all the fixes relating to that problem like clearing cache on the market app via. settings > applications >
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was installing some apps from the market last night and all was going well until one application got stuck. The Market shows it as installing but nothing is happening. The Market still seems to function to load other apps but I have tried pulling the battery, cleaning the cache etc and no matter what I do when I go back to the downloads page the install on this app is still in progress. The Captivate is not rooted and I am not really keen on a hard reset as I have lots of apps and data. Any ideas from you pros out there?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA month ago I bought 2 Samsung captivates at the same time. Tonight while messing with the one I gave my Fiancee, I notice her Market was different from mine. Hers says it is version 1714, mine says 2002012.I couldn't find any thing on the web other than there are a few android phones, non samsung, that are also stuck at 1714, and that 2012 is the latest version.
View 21 Replies View RelatedOne thing that annoys me is when there is an update for an app in the market and I don't know what they are updating. Some apps tells you the stuff they are adding or improving but most don't. On some you can click on the developer's page n they will tell you. But there is a lot that you don't know what the updates are.Like the very popular Pandora radio app. I checked today and there was an update to 1.5 but there is nothing that tells me what the update is.I am new to android, maybe I am missing something but is there a way to see what the updates are before you download?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLately when I have been trying to download applications from the Market; I keep getting "download unsuccessful." I have not been able to make it work no matter what I do.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI get this when I try to load from Apk manager. I'm rooted and I have an older version of Market Access installed. I have Busy Box and SU installed. I'm not sure what the issue is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLong story short, I ended up removing all user data (including apps) from my phone. I went to the "Downloaded" category in my Market account, and downloaded some of them, but the rest I don't want. How do I get rid of those (all labeled "installed") without having to download and uninstall them manually?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I understand there are known issues with the Market getting stuck at "Starting Download" but here's my problem. I removed GoogleTalk which seems to be the route of the issue and now I can't seem to get it back. Also, ever since then I get the following error message upon booting: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. dumpstate_app_201008021101_com_google_process_gapp s.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log." I'd rather not have to factory reset since I'm already rooted and was just getting things the way I liked them.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy gmail app suddenly stopped working. i have background and auto sync on. contacts and calendar syncing without any issue. mail is the only problem. i uninstalled ADW launcher which i updated right before this problem and all related apps for that launcher from the phone. i rebooted the phone (several methods including holding down power and volume buttons down, power off and battery out) but the problem still persists. I am unable to see the gmail app in the android marketplace from my phone. Otherwise, i will uninstall the one in my phone and reinstall the same. Another crazy thing is..when i open manage applications under settings, i dont see gmail app there. i have to app on my tray but not found in the applications list.what is going on?
View 1 Replies View Relatedso we have 4 Captivates in our house. 3 of the 4 have received the update notification and have been updated. (Mine has not). None of these phones are rooted. My son noticed this morning when he goes into the market on his phone and goes to downloads. There are 3 things that are different. First off there is a button that says "Update All", he can click on this to update all of the apps that need to be updated. Second, when he goes into an individual download there are now 2 buttons at the top one says "Comments" the other says "About". The Third change is that under those 2 buttons there is now a check box that can be checked that says "Update Automatically". Anyone know why he has these 3 new options and no one else does?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've seen many threads on the crappy side asking how to side load apps (installing non market apps) well you can root (look for the sticky in our forum) or you just use the Side loading Wonder Machine with no need to root. I use it all the time (just got me an Oregon Trail apk anyway, just follow the instructions and you'll be happy. I would make two minor corrections though. I downloaded the samsung drivers from samsung them selfs. Also make sure you have the apk in the same folder as the wonder machine heres a video.
