Is there an LED notification on the Fascinate for txt msgs, emails, calls, etc?
I can't seem to find it. If not then what are the two things that look like LEDs under the glass just left of the ear speaker?

I've been through many menus and I can't seem to find out how to do it, if it's possible on this device (fingers crossed).
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my new Samsung Fascinate. I shouldn't blame the phone as it is probably just the android system. I can not receive emails on either of my accounts without manually going into my phone and hitting "load messages". I have set the emails to check every 5 minutes, but it doesn't notify me or open them until I manually do it. Love the rest of the phone

When I delete a email on the phone, it deletes it on my email server and deletes it on my office comp. I would like to delete them on the phone but have them remain on the office server. Is this possible? How would I go about setting this up?

I just got a Fascinate yesterday (was a former Blackberry user) and was wondering if there was an option to delete emails from either or / both the phone and/or email? Blackberry used to have a sync option that when you selected "Delete" it asked if you wanted to:
Delete from handheld device
Delete from PC
Delete from handheld and PC
To clarify, I have a Gmail account but don't use it as my primary email, if at all. I have a personal Comcast account and a work email.
Just purchased the Fascinate, and so far seems like a great phone. One issue I am having and searching around I see others are also having this issue. Issue being that the phone is not retrieving emails (IMAP) from my servers? I have it set to five minutes and I have to manually get them. Does anyone know when there will be an update to fix this issue?
Also one other questions, when updates come out for this phone, are they automatically installed, or do I need to login in somewhere to download?
I have the fascinate and always have to power off and on to get my comcast emails to load.Called verizon 2x and was back in store with no help.I can get gmail when this is going on, but my comcast emails do not load unless i reboot the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the Samsung fascinate which runs android 2.1 (eria) and found online before i bought it that the phone could support 2 exchange server emails. i have set up my first email through the setup and selected exchange as the server. now the problem arises, when i go into link up my other exchange email account i enter in the info then click automatic setup, it brings me to manual setup automatically everytime and wont allow me to select exchange as the server. it only gives me the options of imap and pop3, neither of these thus far will work and link my second email, i called my it dept and got the port numbers and all that when entering them into the imap and pop3 setup but it will not work. is there anyway around this or how do i setup to exchange server emails on this device.

When I have a lot of emails piled up in my trash folder like say 70 or more, when I hit delete all it hangs and doesn't do anything and than it forces close. What I do is delete them 10 at a time. I mean why can't I just hit delete all and be done with it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I put my phone in silent mode (so it just vibrates) I do not notice it vibrating for my instant message which is set to Yahoo IM. I notice it vibrating for calls, and text messages, and even emails, but not for yahoo IM. I have instant message set to go in the notification bar so it should, but i never notice it happening. Anyone have any ideas or do they know if it works on their phone?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone have this problem where when they are on a call the screen locks and you can't hang up the call until you unlock the screen or the other end hangs up? Is there a setting to not lock the screen when on a call. This is driving me nuts to always have to unlock the screen just to get to hangup the phone. From what I can tell I think it happens only when I make the call. But if a call comes in when the screen is locked it allows me to hang up after the call. I check most of the settings and i don't see any options for that...

View 49 Replies View Relateddoes anyone else have this issue where the deleted emails do get deleted but I get a notification within a minute that says 'new emails' and it will tell me that I have x new emails (x=number of emails I just deleted)but those emails are not actually there, just the notification comes up.I just clear it and all is good but i'm curious if anyone else has this issue.

Will doing a factory reset be fine or do I have to un-root before returning? Also, does anyone know if doing a factory reset would improve the reception? Seems VZW hasn't been able to resolve the issue.

View 37 Replies View RelatedI just started noticing this yesterday, and it's bugging the crap out of me now.
Essentially, this is what's happening.
I'll get a text, and in the notification bar where it shows the preview of a text, it'll say "Sarah Klein hey what's up?"
So then I'll pull down the notification area and in that it will again say "Sarah Klein hey what's up?"
Then I'll open the text.. and it's actually from another person! So the notification bar will say one name, but when I open the text, it goes into the actual person's sms thread. This has happened 4 times in the past day now that I've noticed. Has anyone else had this happen?
With Text Messages (SMS) -
Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.
So, is there really no way to set the native messaging app so that it WON'T show a preview of a text message in the notification bar?

View 4 Replies View RelatedUsed the search feature to no avail. The stock calendar app is not honoring any of my alarms/reminders setup in my Google calendar. I installed Gemini, and turned on the Notifications, but it tells me to disable any other notifications. Problem is, I can't find an option to do that anywhere.Long story short, if anyone knows of ANY calendar app for the Fascinate that will honor alarms/reminders, please let me know. View 1 Replies View RelatedI bit the bullet today and got a Fascinate. When I was playing around with the Captivate at the store I noticed the shortcuts when you pull down the notification bar, the ones at the store were silent, vib only, etc.
Now that I'm playing around with the Fascinate I find that its shorcuts are BT, WiFi, etc. Is there a way to change the shortcuts that are displayed when you pull down the notification bar? I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
A puzzle piece does not show up on my unlock screen for new email. I only get it for text messages.
