I installed the free antivirus on my Samsung Captivate and noticed the message, "this phone belongs to: protected by antivirus". I deleted it and uninstalled it and turned off and on my phone 2-3 times. It is still not going away? What am I doing wrong? Also can someone give me any other method to delete this?

I only deleted 'ATT Family Maps' for now until I can figure out how to reinstall things, incase I have a problem later and need to go back to ATT. I clicked 'backup' before i deleted it. But I don't know what buttons to press to get stuff back from the backup.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi just got a samsung captivate love the phone but am having a couple problems my daughter sent me some ringtones via bluetooth and the rt came in a folder from her samsung impression i moved the music into my music folder out of the bluetooth folder however the empty folders that the music came in are still there. i have attempted the long hold on them to delete them but after about 2 minutes nothing happens. does anyone know how to delete these empty folders?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI go to the trash icon on the email app and go to delete the emails from 2 weeks. It takes FOREVER to delete them all. And I still havent deleted all of them. I go to delete like 4 of them and it takes at least 10 seconds just to delete 4 of them.

I found out how to add stuff to the stock android dictionary, but I added stuff I meant as just a test and now I don't know how to delete them.I posted this on xda but haven't gotten an answer yet. Was wondering if anybody here had some insight.Keep in mind this is the STOCK ANDROID keyboard I'm talking about, not swype. View 6 Replies View RelatedSo for the past year I have been using a blackberry bold 9700. At the time when I bought the phone, AT&T didn't have any really appealing android offers. Anyway, the captivate came out, and it seemed like finally there was a good, high end android phone for my carrier, despite AT&T's usual bloatware BS. So I went onto craigslist and found some dude who was willing to sell his captivate for 200 bucks + my bold 9700 (side question, was that an OK deal? I feel like a little less money would have been fair).So we met traded, I'm finally on android, I love the phone, but there is one problem.There is an application on the phone called superuser permissions that I can't delete.I found out it's a program used for rooting.Even though I plan to root my phone eventually, I don't want to root it yet (I'll wait until froyo is released for my phone), and I would rather just root it myself and know what I did to my phone, if that makes any sense.
To make matters a little trickier, I use a mac. I can transfer files between my phone and my computer by going into usb debugging, but the samsung only has drivers that work with Windows... I don't know if that's a problem or not but I just thought I'd mention it.
So today i was looking at my contacts and i noticed that anyone who has a facebook account and is linked to my contacts, has 5 linked contacts in their info. thos 5 linked contacts all being repeats of the facebook contact. its like each contact is linked to itself 5 times. i tried deleting the extra ones but it says i cannot delete a read only contact and i tried displaying only my phone contacts and disabled contact sync with my facebook account but they are still showing up. any idea of what to do?

So is the Captivate the only phone on AT&T that can officially have swype? We all know that Apple won't let Swype in their market

After a period of time when I uncheck the box so I can keep my messages for as long as I want, the box always resets itself. Does anyone have any way to counter this? I appreciate any help
View 6 Replies View RelatedThere is some junk on the applications page that I don't think I'll ever use and would like to delete. For example the Bejeweled Demo and some kind of Nascar thing. I followed the basic instructions to press and hold down the icon until the trash appears and then tried dragging them into the trash but they would not disappear. This works for the shortcuts on the first page but not for the two items I've tried on the application "pull-up" They will select and drag but not delete.
