Reason why I ask is because I have a 25 second video that I recorded with my phone and when I try to send it to my buddy through text message it says that the file is too big? So I said give me your email address and I'll send there and lo and behold the file is too big even for email. smh? It's only 25 seconds!

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen sending e-mails, clicking attach only shows predetermined type of files, likes pictures, contact, video, etc.. but there is no option to attach "file" for example something that may be stored in sd card, like an excel sheet or word document or pdf.
Am I missing something or is this not a feature in Android?
Also, Can we also view these three file types when received, save the file, then forward it via different e-mail?
Is it possible to watch videos on xfinity or espn3.com on the captivate? Im able to access the comcast and espn3 websites but when i click on the episode or video it doesnt load. do i need another media player?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got my Samsung Captivate at my local AT&T store on November 20th. Everything has been pretty good with it except trying to watch videos. It doesn't matter what site I'm trying to watch videos from, youtube or any other, my Captivate doesn't seem to be able to download the video fast enough. It will play for 15 seconds or so until it reaches the end of what it has downloaded at the time, then freezes and will wait until it downloads the full video before starting up again. It's done this even when I had a 3G signal. It can take several minutes for it to download a 2 minute video. I've had it right beside my friend's iPhone, downloading at the same time, same video and he has no problem. A Samsung tech told me to try and watch the video in Wi-fi. That's great and all, but I shouldn't have to. Everything else has been good on the fun but trying to watch videos (which I like doing). Are their any settings I could change that may fix this problem? I deleted all my apps and it still does the same.

I've seen a lot of videos of the Captivate and Vibrant and when they show the Messaging app it shows the bubble (kind of IPhone look) and I was wondering if you can change the look to the regular android look?
Maybe by pressing "Menu" you can change it or something.
I think we all would agree that the native email application in the Captivate leaves a lot to be desired. One of my biggest peeves is that I can read, or mark as read, a message and then a few hours later it shows as unread again. I have 4 inboxes and this can really get confusing. Anyone else running into the same issue and discover a fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally got my email up and running. Now two different times my mailbox simply emptied. The account was still there and fine, bu tthe emails just went back to 0/0. They are not in Trash, they are gone. I am not sure what I am doing to make the mailbox empty. I tried switching to K-9 but for some reason when I was using K-9 any attachments came in as dat files and I was unoable to view pdf's or Word docs etc when using K-9. Anyone deal with this yet?

I picked up the Captivate the other day and so far I love it but is there a way to assign custom non-Samsung message tones? I mean for texts and emails, calender alerts. When I open the apps and go to settings then change alert tone only the Samsung preloaded ones show up. I can choose any ringtone for calling, just not messaging. I downloaded several apps such as SMS Pop-Up and Chomp SMS to see if that would give me the option to choose any tone but no such luck. My last 2 phones have been a Blackberry Bold 9000 and a Backflip and both those phones had those capabilities. Anyone have any ideas?

As a past Blackberry user as well I have basic functionality needs of a email app and this may be the deal breaker. I have my Exchange account setup and working however when I open or select an email there is no option to move the email to a folder. So am I blind or screwed! My brother has an HTC Incredible and his has an option to Move. Did Samsung hide it?

There are a few things that im stop not 100% clear about and would like for you guys to shed some light on this situation for me.
1. What is Launcher Pro and how exactly is it used.
2. Is there anyway to get push notifications with emails and facebook. Im always having to check my email to see if I have any.
3. What happens when I fill up all 7 pages with apps? Will I not be able to download anymore?
I go to the trash icon on the email app and go to delete the emails from 2 weeks. It takes FOREVER to delete them all. And I still havent deleted all of them. I go to delete like 4 of them and it takes at least 10 seconds just to delete 4 of them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am going crazy! Every time I try to text my wife's phone from my contacts, it removes the area code and errors out when trying to send. I have edited the contact info and sure enough it has the correct 10 digit number. I have tried deleting the her contact info and recreating it. No dice. I again deleted her contact info, went to her phone and sent a text to mine and replied. The incoming message has the correct 10 digit number. Replying again stripped the area code and tried to use the 7 digit number. Of course this failed.Any ideas? I need some help here. I am not sure if this is an issue with the phone or with AT&T.

I can open/view attachments that have been sent to me, however I cannot open/view attachments in email messages that I have sent. I can see the attachment, and it's file extension, but when I click on it nothing happens. There is no open or save button like there would be normally. EDIT: I have read the other threads on this forum referring to issues with email attachments and none of them had the solution to my problem.

My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. So maybe it is a bug with the firmware?Or maybe a setting got changed but I'm not seeing how to handle the issue.
