I encountered the message "Cannot start the app due to insufficient permissions" when open web link in facebook for android or friendcaster or some news apps. Before, I rooted my Xperia and do some mods with Small Apps and Toggles.

This is the message I get when I try to take pictures. I have only taken 9 shots so far. There was no problem until yesterday when i tried to take the tenth. Did I do something to cause this? I am not that tech smart
Everyone knows that At&t is probably the worst major carrier in the US to be on if you want an Android device. So there has to be a reason you are praying Samsung announces the issues with the Captivate are fixable, or you would have jumped ship by now to have dozens of choices at the other carriers. For me, my wife just got her first ever iPhone and she refuses to try anything else. She's a big fan of the "Sims" type of games and Android doesn't have many of those games in the Market yet. It doesn't make sense money wise to have us on different carriers. So I'm stuck with At&t and a Captivate that I wish could perfrom to it's potential. Anybody else in a similar situation? Maybe it's spouses, kids, or even work related?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was rebooting my phone today and it every time I try it gets stuck on The Galaxy S logo with the big flashing "S" on the screen. It acts like it is going to boot up but just after the ATT screen and the boot sound it gets stuck. I did the one-click-lag-fix about 2 weeks ago and the phone has been running smooth ever since. My wife and daughter are on the road so not having a phone really stinks right now.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I understand there are known issues with the Market getting stuck at "Starting Download" but here's my problem. I removed GoogleTalk which seems to be the route of the issue and now I can't seem to get it back. Also, ever since then I get the following error message upon booting: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. dumpstate_app_201008021101_com_google_process_gapp s.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log." I'd rather not have to factory reset since I'm already rooted and was just getting things the way I liked them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was following the directions of this thread trying to install notifications toggles to my phone. Used root explorer. However, l changed the permissions on the wrong file or folder, it seems, as the phone just displays the logo and reboots, caught in a loop.
What files and folders has to have which permissions? How can I change them if I can't boot my phone? I don't have any mod other than Root, as this was the first I was trying to use, as I have to have better access to the toggles.
A while ago Buddies randomly asked me which program I wanted it to check for text messaging, I clicked the stock messenger. Now its stuck. I tried to go into the program settings and clear the info etc. But I cant make Buddies use handscent when I want to send a text
View 6 Replies View RelatedI put Cognition on my phone today, and made a backup image of the stock 2.1 before putting Cognition on. I decided I want to go back to the Stock, so I clicked the "manage backups" part of Clockwork, and "recover" on the image I saved. Next, the phone rebooted, and looked like it was installing the backup image, and rebooted again. However, it will not go past the White AT&T screen. Is my only option to use Odin to give it a factory reset? Or is there an easier way for me to do this?

I was running the JI6 2.2 with cognition beta5.5 and was attempting to update however I needed to swap kernels since the current kernel didn't verify signatures. I was using vmware on a mac and i started it but then continued to use the mac side however the computer disconnected the phone from the windows side and now it is stuck showing an image of a phone next to a computer with a triangle with a ! in it between the two. Pressing all hardware buttons does nothing but black the screen and go back to the same screen. I've taken out the battery, sim, unplugged the cord, everything. Can't get back into download mode to redo the kernal swap. It's definitely connected to a valid, and working, usb port and i am now on windows itself instead of vmware. What do I do?

Like the person who started that thread, I need to get a unique ID for a device, without using scary permissions for TelephonyManager. I've tried

but that just produces "android_id" on my phone. I'm using a Nexus One and Android 2.1.
I tried the new speed fix and suddenly all my apps stopped loading. so i rebooted, now it got stuck on galaxy s screen and wont turn on. after waiting i got a black screen and the buttons are lit up

So my phone is rooted and I want to know if when I run an antivirus will it show my root or apps as viruses if they have superuser permissions? Because when I run antivirus it shows several viruses. If I clean them idk what it will do. And when I say several I mean like 50 to 100 files show infections.

I just installed Kies but whenever i connect my phone Kies tells me "This Device Is Not Supported By Kies" I've restarted my Phone and Computer. I don't have an external microSD only the internal one, and I just can't figure out how to get anyone on it. Kies mode doesn't work, and mass storage doesn't see the internal.
